Meat City of Linden

I’ve been here several times and the service is usually just okay, but today I was extremely satisfied with the service I received, especially at check out; the women was very friendly and actually communicated with me, something I don’t usually get. It is a little hard for me to rate this establishment; while most people go to a meat markets for a variety of meats, I just come here for 1 thing and thats usually the Baby Turkey Wings, while other places have huge wings, they have the smaller ones that I prefer; but this time I got the Turkey chops which were a variety of sizes. My only complaint is that I feel their prices are extremely high considering most of their meats are frozen. Whatever happened to the meat markets of the past where everything was fresh? Ohh how I miss those days.

Is there a zero star option? Was in a pinch and needed prime rib for an after Christmas dinner, went here against my better judgment. Bought $ 40 worth of prime rib Thursday night and refrigerated it immediately after buying. Took it out to season it on Saturday morning and it was rotten and rank. Called the store and BERNIE the owner was nasty and useless. I didn’t have the receipt (who keeps the receipt for the BEST QUALITY MEAT AT THE BEST PRICES). BERNIE was an a**hole and would do nothing for me. He clearly won’t stand by his meat considering how poor quality it is. The customer service reflects the meat: awful. Go somewhere else.

The service here kinda sucks. There are too many people (kids rather) working here that don’t really know a thing about meat or service. I could not find anything I really wanted out of their selection (I am a meat enthusiast and am living with a girlfriend who is an amazing chef). The only «specialty» meat we could find was frozen rabbit, frozen duck, and frozen cornish hen and some goat that looked like it had previously been frozen.
I would not suggest anyone waste their time with this place. I was really looking forward to going to a meat market but was severely disappointed with the results. If you can find another butcher shop or meat shop even 20 minutes farther than this one, I suggest making the trip.
