David Sroga is awesome. He won’t give you any BS because he’s not working with your realtor to rubber stamp things. If there’s something wrong, he will let you know. If things are fine, he will tell you that, too. He used to be an engineer so he knows what he’s talking about. We’ve used him twice now. The first time, he saved us from buying a house that was leaking water into the basement from the steps due to improper grading and cracks. No house is perfect, but you should know what you’re getting into before you buy your house. His inspection report includes pictures so the owner of the house can’t deny problems. If you’re new to home buying, I strongly recommend going to David Sroga or someplace that is NOT recommended by your realtor.

The inspector, David Sroga, from HouseMaster inspected my home. I pointed out the wavy shingles and he said, «oh that is normal of that type of shingle and will last another ten years» and«I have the same shingles on my home and they will last another ten years». I then had two contractors come out and they said the roof was in need of immediate replacement. After I told him this he said, «Dont believe them they are looking to scare you and just want to get business.» My insurance company then went to review the house and they said that they will not insure the house until the roof was replaced since it was bad. I ended up loosing the cost of the inspection and the cost of the appraisal in the deal. I asked him for a refund since his inspection and comments was inaccurate and caused me to continue going with the appraisal. He then told me that he was in the right since he had me sign a contract which basically protected him and his company from anything they said. DONOTUSETHEM! BEWAREOFTHEIRCONTRACT! They do not stand behind their inspection and are only concerned about keeping your money.
