Lynn Hill Apartments

This place is terrible.
First I keep finding things missing in my apartment, so far a $ 300 ring is gone, $ 300 leather jacket, $ 200 necklace that I only wore once, and a $ 250 lacrosse stick of my boyfriends.
Second parking is terrible, every night is a battle trying to find parking here, not to mention I got threatened by another neighbor over a corner spot.
Third my apartment constantly smells like cigarette smoke because my neighbors smoke and it comes through the vents into my apartment.
Fourth there are people smoking weed around the apartment.
Fifth there are kids constantly playing around the apartment parking lot and love to bounce balls of the car.
Sixth there is hardly any lighting in the parking lot, we have one by our apartment.
Seventh this apartment is owned by Maryland management, make sure to look them up. They have one star for customer service.
Eight snow removal is terrible so if a huge storm hits your screwed because you won’t be able to get out.
Ninth we’ve had so much maintenance done to this apartment it’s ridiculous, our sink leaked in the bathroom and water got everywhere, the bathtub and tiles had to be replaced, the stove caught on fire because they painted over it with flammable paint, the fridge stopped working one night, and my ac was leaking water and caused a leak in my downstairs neighbors apartment.
Tenth neighbors are extremely loud slamming doors and walls are so thin you can hear everything that they are saying or doing.
I have talked to the manager and Maryland management but nothing has been handled and everything is an excuse as to why they can’t fix something.

Steer clear. Living here is an expensive nightmare.
Allow me to explain. The floors creak like you would not believe. While the management boasts of «beautiful oak hardwood floors,» a more accurate description would read «cheap, loud, paneled fake-​wood slanted floors.» Multiple visitors remarked on the slanted floors, and the fact that a pen set on the edge of the room would roll to the center confirmed this. Additionally, only after you sign the lease will the management tell you that they require YOU to carpet 80% or more of the floors. Such a shame to not show off the «beautiful oak hardwood floors»!
These apartments are under Maryland Management Company, and they want as much money as they can possibly get from you. My apartment application was approved based on an offer letter from a new job I was about to start in the area. Literally 24 hours after signing my lease, I received word that the company I was going to work for was having financial troubles and would no longer be able to take me. I work in a very specialized field and would have to move out of the area to find employment on such short notice. I thought surely the Management would be understanding of this situation, especially since my lease term had not even begun yet and I had not even moved in. Boy was I wrong. Without a trace of sympathy, they stated that I would have to adhere to the year lease, or buy out. «Buying out» here means two months’ rent at market value plus paying back any concessions given. And they give a lot of concessions to get you to sign that lease. They also require a 30-​day notice to move out, so essentially the buy out is 3 months’ rent, plus pay back of concessions. With this huge amount of money, I could no longer afford to relocate to get a job in my field. I was completely trapped.
I pleaded with Maryland Management Company to have some mercy, since I HADN’T EVEN MOVED IN YET. I spoke to a woman whose job is clearly just to filter out people like me from bothering her bosses. When I described the situation, she said «if we make an exception for you, we’d have to make an exception for everyone. People have hardships all the time.» She then proceeded to nonchalantly give a laundry list of hardships their tenants have had. People lose their jobs. Spouses leave. Relatives die. Trust me, filter-​lady, I get it. People have all kinds of hardships worse than mine. This isn’t my first hardship, and I’m sure it won’t be my last. But I guarantee I am the only tenant whose job fell through 24 hours after signing the lease, who hadn’t even moved in yet, and whose lease hadn’t even begun yet.
I am completely trapped now, as I no longer have any money to relocate for work in my field. I am working a job that is not in my field for the time being, but it is going to take me quite a while to recover from the financial hit. I am sure Maryland Management Company is happy though, as they made quite a profit off of my terrible situation. I am happy to say I will never sign another piece of paper with their name on it again. I advise you to do the same. RUN.

Not a luxury apartment complex, but quite pleasant. Lived here for 1 year prior to moving for work, but would have been happy to stay longer. Very convenient to bwi/​downtown. Never had safety concerns or problems with management. Nice landscaping.
