La Pizzatega

Overall unimpressed. Started with the French onion soup. It was very dark (close to black) and while it tasted okay and had plenty of cheese, there wasn’t really many onion pieces in it. It was basically broth, wet croutons, and cheese. My sister and aunt got the tortellini soup. It was nothing but a handful of tortellini dumped in chicken broth. We ordered a large pizza as our meal. It was soggy, and didn’t hold it’s shape when picked up like good, crisp pizza. We had two servers. The first left in the middle of serving us and another came in for her shift and immediately picked up the other’s duties. It would have been nice in the first waitress had told us her shift was over and introduced us to the second one. The second waitress was a lovely blonde girl who was extremely friendly and engaged in conversation with us.

I work at a doctor office in EHT and we order lunch from all around the area. Pizzatega is one of the better spots in the area, if not, the best. The sandwiches are very good for a ‘pizza shop’ and the salads are big and fresh.

I am a long time customer at LaPizzatega and as good as their food is, I always seem to find something new that tops past experiences. Owner Glenn is hands on and takes pride in the quality of his food and he offers specials EVERY day of the week. Today’s special was a Chicken sandwich with spinach and other toppings. Hands down, it was the tastiest spinach I ever had and it made the sandwich. Not sure what the special ingredients are, but that sandwich will keep me coming back for another! Other favorites are their Involtini and amazing soups… If you’re looking for a quality, family friendly restaurant with something for everyone, try LaPizzatega! You WON’T be disappointed!

My meal was pretty gross to be perfectly honestly. I ordered the meat lasagna. Sauce was watery and bitter and whatever meat they used literally had the consistency of dog food. It was cubed and mushy, indicative of frozen, factory quality meat and nothing like the fresh ground beef I was expecting in my lasagna. Turkey sub was made wrong, missing three ingredients. Also, I ordered for delivery at 4:15 and it didn’t come until almost 6pm. Not acceptable for a Monday night. This place is expensive too. Definitely not worth the money.

When I eat there they always are respectful it is good family place good for a family with both little kids and big kids

Made reservations for 4 at 7:30. Arrived 10 minutes early. Told wait was just a few minutes. Asked at 7:40 and told 15 minute wait. 15 minutes later we were told 10 minutes more. As we waited people arrived after us and were seated before us. We were told they had a 7pm reservation. SO NOT TRUE. WE SAW THEM COME IN AFTER US. They were quickly seated at a window table. Owner said they were waiting in their car. REALLY!!! So apparent they take care of their «regulars». After we were finally seated we waited 10 minutes for warm water. No ice. Machine was out. Waitress said ice machine can’t keep up. So far not so good! We finally ordered. Chicken and rice soup for a few… good but not hot, french onion soup for orhers… tasteless and generally unedible except for the cheese. Not in a crock. Dollar store bowl with handle. No cheese on outside that… you all know… you like to pick at! Meals come. Eggplant parm good and nice size portion. Chicken parm was fried, greasy and just not good. Our fault for not asking it to be baked. Everyone’s pasta was way overcooked but sauce was fabulous. Sad that delicious sauce covers all the horribleness underneath. Will not return.

We always love their house salad w house dressing & blackened chicken. The pizza is so good, we all agree…& that’s not always easy in a family of five! The veggie subs are delicious as well. Pizza Tega is one of our favorite places to go for lunch or even order in on pizza night. Of course our kids really like their fries & chicken tenders. The service is always friendly & fast which is a huge plus!

I have always found the service here to be prompt and personal. The pizza is delicious. Their bread is unique to the region, as are their cheese involtini, which are hard to find elsewhere.

Good food… good prices. good portions. The owner and his staff work hard to give a good meal to the folks that come in here. Perhaps it is just the more mature crowd (with a couple bucks in their pockets) that appreciates the hot pizza or grilled sandwiches that are delivered to their table (relatively fast on most crowded evenings).
Not sure why there seem to be negative reviews… perhaps the perspective of the reviewers? We have not had a bad experience in the years we have been going to this place… in fact the one time we did have a mix up on our order the owner was quick to make things right and deducted the mistake from our check. pretty gracious if you ask us. We would recommend the place if you want a nice hot meal from a fairly extensive menu. Bön Appitito

2 stars is for the chicken caesar salad with slices of chicken breast, lots of parm cheese, homemade croutons & the best homemade dressing! Besides that, your basic pizza & subs. I have to agree with David O, the place is a dive. They have an island (counter) in the middle of the new (dining area?) and its just loaded with junk/​just collector/​knick knacks.strange.We only dined in 1 time, then picked up food a few times after. Everyone who works there, standing behind the counter, stares all the customers down when they walk in & wait. Excited to have business maybe? Just plain weird. Since we found Romanellis (in the same plaza), we havent gone back to La Pizza Tega.

I eat here weekly. My favorite is their Stuffed Eggplant. You must try!

What was once a place I would give 5 stars, has really been in a decline for the past year and a half.
Service has been very slow and I find myself coming in less and less. While the food is still great, it is only good if you can actually get it to your table while it is still dinner time!
The new addition is potentially one of the ugliest and worst jobs I have ever seen a restaurant perform. It almost like the cabinet manufacturer, that was there before, just left one night, and they put in tables and chairs and the cheapest booths they could find (you sink right down to the floor in them; almost walked out the last time I was there because they were so terrible).
I really hope this place can work out the kinks with their recent expansion because it is really a shame the condition it is operating in now.
