Zero stars I don’t want to give one but I have too… the manger excuse me the security guy who acts like he is the manager. Throws out my friend because a third party says something and just assume it is true. Then tells me he doesn’t need my business. Seems like it could be a nice local spot. But me as the individual that didn’t do anything according to an unnamed person got kicked out cause I walked out the door an tried to figure out what was going on. Then When I came in trying to close my tab and use the restroom was told I couldn’t come back in. Excuse me who are you and who gave you the authority to ban customers from settling up an using the facilities that aren’t even in your bar.

I remember when this used to be the Lodge and wow has it come a long way! Just saw Nathaniel Rateliff there last night and«a full house» doesn’t begin to describe the scene but the staff was amazing! Running food and drinks into a concert pit is unheard of yet they did it like pros. The service was impressive to say the least. Great place!

I’m not sure why they don’t have more stars! I love Basecamp. The food is sooo good. Their burgers are amazing, not the best but definitely the top choice for the area. I love their buffalo mac and cheese. Yum! It’s been beautifully renovated and is a pleasure to go hang out there. Love it!

The live band on Tuesday is incredible. I see people comparing it to the lodge but I’ve lived here in Four Lakes for 2 years and I like this place more.

Like most everyone else I too want to like this place because I previously loved coming here. Note: it is currently owned by the same owner of Jimmys grill in Naperville. Food is just so-so. I have had nearly everything and cannot say I love anything. I do go here when the weather is bad or on Monday’s when it is half for four lakes residents. The trivia nights are a blast hosted by k zone. The menu is very small. Drink specials are decent but otherwise quite pricy when compared to surrounding bars. Family friendly. Attractive and attentive waitresses. Décor is nice. Pretty entertaining live music. Good tvs for watching games. But…it still not the lodge… I can’t be the only one who misses the sloppy drunken fights you could catch on any giving Sunday right?

Worst service of any place I have ever been too. If Missy and Tiffany are working, it’s all about them. They ignore all the customers except for a small group of their friends as they spend the whole night talking to them. You have to track down the only guy working which is Mike or the other bartender who is also named Mike. These guys do all the work but once you put your tip up on the bar that’s when you get attention from the Missy and Tiffany show. I have complained twice to the manager and I will be seeking out the owner. If I could I would give this O stars and those 2 should be fired

REALLY want to love this place! Bring back the original french fries and POUTINE! Food is mediocre. They HAD great french fries, now they are awful. They removed our favorite POUTINE from the menu. Food constantly arrives cold to table. We frequent for trivia night and friends on Wednesdays, but stopped eating here. Matt, the new manager is missing the mark! Taking away what we enjoyed. Stingy on ingredients for potatoes skins. Get to work Matt or this place ISNOTGOINGTOLAST! ALSO, little turned off by consistent discrepancies in drink prices from week to week… depending on who the bartender is. 8.50 for a hot toddie? Sometimes 7. Once 9.50? Really? TRYINGTOFIND A REASONTOKEEPCOMING! SERIOUSLY! We have our friends and it’s right here. Soon we will all stop coming.

Service is very hit or miss. There’s a guy who bartends there who is very friendly and attentive, but there is a girl who works there who is very nice but not at all attentive. Last weekend I waited so long to order a second drink that I was actually considering just leaving and reporting my credit card lost so I didn’t have to deal with getting it back. When she finally came over, I just closed out and left. It’s unfortunate since the bar is nice, prices reasonable, and the location killer for those of us who live in Four Lakes. I’ve had this bad experience twice in a row now…

Have been to Basecamp a few times lately, was there last night 11⁄7 to see one of my fav bands play! What a difference from when they first opened, had the loaded tater tots and a burger was really good!!! It got really crowded and I never waited long to get a drink from either bar! Much better service, better food, and better management. I think some of the bad reviews are from residents who aren’t getting things either their way or for free anymore. Good for the owners to not give in! Give this place a chance again!

I’ve been here a few times now. Honestly I want to like this place. I live like 300 yards from here. But honestly this place is worse then when it was known as «the lodge.» I went there for a Lucky boys Confusion show a few month back. Let’s start with the fact they said the show was sold out and at capacity and that we couldn’t enter. Ok that’s fine so when we went to leave another bouncer tells us again it’s sold out and that they are“at FULL capacity but we can old get you in if we paid a $ 20 cover charge.” Sounds like they are running a tight ship. Seeing as they are at capacity yet can magically break the law if we pay them extra to get in. Btw cover that night was $ 12. Guy wanted to pocket $ 24 off 3 guys. I’ll be honest I didn’t respond to this bouncer very well. I basically told him I’d call lisle police and fire to come check on capacity if he didn’t let us in for free. After a look of pure dumbfoundedness this guy let us in(free). Once inside we wait too long for a beer because hey the only scheduled 3 bartenders on a Saturday night. Loads of pissed off people not getting drinks and basically we left unhappy. So let’s fast forward to this past Sunday(November 1st2015) myself and 2 friends decide to grab quick food and drinks for the bears game. We arrive the place is empty. Maybe 15 – 18 patrons at most. Most of which are sitting around the bar. All the tables are open and only 1 table outside for the game. This has got to be a good thing right? I’ll get great service and food will come out fast. WRONG. Our server bless her soul was beautiful and about attentive as you’d expect somebody who flat out doesn’t give a shit about her job would be. And who can blame her. It’s a Sunday during a Bears game and she won’t make Shit because this place is garbage. We order drinks. Server puts in drinks. Drink tickets print out. Bartender doesn’t make drinks. Bartender to busy dealing with nothing else to do. We wait and my friends asks where the drinks are. She said she was waiting on the bartender. Ok great she goes back and gets our drinks. We order an appetizer and 3 entries. 45 minutes later we receive all our food. We didn’t get our appetizer before he entries. Surprise the Mozzarella sticks are cold. Oh well let’s just eat our food. Now I cannot speak for my friends but my food was bad. It really looked like it was prepared by somebody who didn’t care. I got the create your own Mac and cheese, I added chicken and broccoli. The chicken was thrown on top of the Mac and cheese and the broccoli wasn’t even cut up at all. Just 3 big broccoli cloves and chicken half sliced(not even all the way cut through or separated). The Mac and cheese had little to no taste And was not worth the $ 12 or so. There was a pool of watery cheese mix at the bottom of the plate. My friends triedit and said it was awful. I agreed. I can say neither finished there food and we all went to McDonald’s after leaving because we couldn’t eat basecamps food. Oh yeah it took 20 minutes for my water to come to the table. Forgot to mention that. Server and bartender to busy on there phones to get me a water. Probably why our appetizers didn’t come out. Listen how cares what I think of this place but if I were the owner I’d clean this shit up asap. It’s sad cause this business is probably gunna fail. And as convient as it is being right in my condo complex I have no reason to suggest it or go back willingly. I remember when the lodge had a rep of a place where you’re likely to meet somebody with an std but Atleast it was a party ½ drink 2 days a week. now«basecamp» has a rep for just being a bad. Best of luck basecamp. Maybe they can make this place better. Or maybe they’ll just close this pile of garbage down.

This place was formerly«The Lodge» and The Lodge, along with the Four Lakes area is what attracted me originally to Lisle. I didn’t move to this area, but it’s nice to live close and visit from time to time. I realized I haven’t been in there in about two years now, and since then it is under new ownership and a new name. I wasn’t hearing rave reviews, so I gave myself a reason to go check it out… and not for my usual seeing a band on a weekend night either. I bought a Double Take Deal to check this place out to eat. I recall this place having decent food in the past… the mozzarella sticks, pizza, burgers, etc. The new look is nice — very rustic in there, and a lot different than what it was years ago. My sister came in on a Saturday afternoon — the indoor seating was entirely empty, there were a handful of dudes sitting at the bar, and outside had about 4 tables with people sitting there eating. There was ONE server for all of us. I have nothing bad to say about her… she was actually very friendly and attentive. I will say we spent WAYTOOMUCHTIME in there just for lunch, in fact we didn’t even order alcohol with our meals. I wasn’t sure if the food was the same as before so I just went with a regular ol’ burger… with Cheddar Cheese which they forgot when they brought my food over. We got the pretzel sticks as an appetizer, those were good… my sister got a chicken wrap with sweet potato bites as a side. I got the fries which were pretty good. We spend enough for our $ 30 deal so we got the chocolate lava cake for dessert, and that was good as well. I’m sure I will be back at some point… I remember in the past this place was always warm in the summer when I would see bands there, so I’m hoping that improved.

Absolutely the worst experience I’ve ever had at basecamp. I understand when you’re busy service tends to slow down but when you are get blatantly ignoring you and helping every single person around you it gets a bit frustrating. Although I really do like the pizza, fried pickles and the Bavarian pretzels. Also Thursday night trivia is awesome.

Not sure why the owner would let this place rot… but it smells terrible. So we ate outside. Think you need to forget about food here. I ordered a salad thinking how can ya screw it up? Here is the answer. A big bowl of lettuce with chicken strips. McDonalds does it better. Missing were the listed ingredients… avocado, cilantro, and lime vinaigrette. Will make sure no one we know will waste good money at the Base Camp. Need to deliver a good product to get customers, you will be closing your doors within the next year if you don’t think about delivering a simple, spot on menu. This is definitely BASE… Base level establishment. You have lots of crappy reviews… why don’t you just serve burgers and fries. Maybe the staff can get it right. Just like McDonalds. Hire people who could give a crap, to serve crap.

I’ve lived at Four Lakes for about 3 years now and I really really REALLY wanted Base Camp to be awesome. I’m not saying they are bad. I think they have the right atmosphere and are working on providing a great experience which is something the old pub seriously lacked. My biggest issue here is the food. I just paid $ 15 for an order of mozzarella sticks and fried pickles. I did it because I wanted to give the place a shot. The mozzarella sticks were very bland and the cheese inside didn’t stretch when I bit into them. My fried pickes came out ok. They were very thin chips and some of them were pretty crispy but most of them were soggy. Also very salty, which is the opposite problem I had with the cheese sticks. I couldn’t make it entirely through either order. I’m sure there are great things on the menu. My friend had the BBQ chicken and french fries there the other day and he said they were great! The two things I ordered are easy fixes if you choose the right brand so please, try some new ones out and charge accordingly! I wish these guys all the best. I just can’t forsee them lasting long if everything on the menu isn’t worth what their charging for it.

Considering I live in Four Lakes, I really wanted to like this place. However, that wasn’t the case. The food is below average for bar food and is thrice the price. I will go in for a beer every now and then but even so, there are four cervezas on tap. Who does that??? Give me some IPAs or some other staples that good restaurants have. Sorry… no good.

For this place being just opened after the previous owner/establishment being closed for about a year, we were so disappointed with their lack of customer service. They practically have a monopoly in this area with the reputation of a great place from the previous owner and they are just squandering it. Wait staff and hostess were totally unenthusiastic and all they wanted to do was seat us and then take our order. We even expressed how excited we were that they are open finally and that we live in the apartments less than a block away! Aside from the service, the place smelled like wet washrag. As for food, we were even more turned off by the lack of selection. It’s just a bar — might as well be a divebar. We gladly drove about 25 minutes to one of our favorite spots just to get the bad experience out of us that Basecamp left.

Horribly overpriced. $ 8-$ 9 shots. This is lisle. Not downtown Chicago. Also, there must be a special senior discount because this place is loaded with retirees. We won’t be back until I see some positive reviews. I won’t hold my breath in the meantime. Oh and they have no ATM. So don’t forget your checkbook.

I was excited to hear that the lodge at Four Lakes was under new management opening under a new name(BaseCamp). The long-running theme with the old lodge was that the food and drinks were okay but the service was always hit or miss, mostly miss. So I was excited to try this place since they heavily promoted that the food, the décor and the service had all been improved. I wasn’t impressed, and I left there with the exact same impression that I had of the old lodge. Just average food and average service and outrageous prices. First of all it was a Tuesday night. The ski hill was operating and there was a steady stream of people coming and going through the restaurant. It was not busy by any means. The outside temperature was hovering right around 15° above zero; needless to say I was very surprised when I walked in and it felt like it was about 55° inside. When I asked the bartender why it was so cold in there she told me that a vent had broke. I’m not a heating and cooling guy, but I’m pretty sure that one vent being broke would not mean that the whole heating system would have to be shut down. Luckily for my friends and I there was a table that was available right in front of the fireplace, so we sat there. The radiant heat from the fire made up for the cool temperature inside. Our server was average. He seemed nice and was somewhat attentive to our needs. I’ve had worse service, I’ve had better service. He was just ok. The food was also just average. I ordered a burger and it was very dry. The lettuce that had been served on top of the burger had little brown edges on it; not sure what that was. My friends had similar things to say about their meals. My girlfriend ordered the gumbo, and her friend ordered a chicken sandwich. All of which were very average, which including my burger, surprised me because the prices were higher than what I had expected. If I’m going to go into a place and spend $ 11 on a burger it better be good, and this was nowhere close to being worth $ 11. One final thing worth adding to this review… We had all ordered beers on draft. When our server came around and asked us if we wanted another round, we all said yes. He came back two minutes later and said that the entire draft beer system was down. They could only serve us beer in bottles. he really didn’t give us a great explanation as to why the whole system went down either. But there was not one single draft beer that he was able to pour us. Then there was all kinds of confusion as to which bottled beers they had in stock. It had became very clear that he did not know the menu. So, overall, I want to give this place more stars but I just can’t do that right now. I know they haven’t been open that long, but with so many other restaurants in the area I guess I just expected more.

The new look is nice. Many solid updates and décor giving it a modern rustic look. The food menu is great. A lot of gourmet style food. Prices are a bit high but you are paying for quality. Beer prices are good too. $ 4.75 for a 16oz pint of Anti-Hero. A completely remodeled kitchen, updated POS system and nice tables keep the same ambience as prior businesses have. Def recommend it to anyone that had visited The Pub or The Lodge in the past. And service is great. Both bartenders BT and Brad and attentive and very personable. Check it out!
