Robert Johnson is a deadbeat Land Lord of the now foreclosed house on 2S610 Marie Curie Ln Warrenville Il. We have contacted him on multiple occasions to pay moneys owed with only receiving excuses and reasons that it isn’t his fault that he can’t pay. He first introduced himself as Bob and in seminary school to become a pastor /minster. He had proven himself to not be a man of his word and worse not a refection of what a man of faith should be. I encourage you not to support this man, as he will not make good on his word or promises. We for one will not back down and take this matter as far as need be. It is not about the money but the principle of what is right and just.

AWFUL!!! I am giving one star b/c I have to otherwise it would be negative stars. 3 of us went there to get our hair styled for a wedding. The guy brought his kid and had to jeep stopping to attend to her, was all scattered, talked about very weird and inappropriate topics. All that would have been tolerable if the hair style was good, but it was awful. He took over two hours on my mom and it was an outdated mess. Seriously like knots in her hair. He didn’t listen to what she wanted at all! After that not only did we not have time for my sister and I, but no way were we letting him go near us. We had to race home an do own hair for our brothers wedding we were standing up in. AND fix our moms! Pretty bad thy we did a better job. Do not go here!

Dude was high as a kite. Messy salon. I should have known it was bad with noone in there on a Saturday afternoon. I don’t know how he is still in business. Unless you want to have circular, out their conversations and a crappy cut, save your money! Entertaining though!

I have been a customer of Robert Johnson’s Hair Salon for over 15 years. He has given me hundreds if not thousands of haircuts. I am a marine and I have to keep my hair short. A few of my friends own salons and offer to cut my hair for free. I continue to go to Robert Johnson because he is the best! I have refered many friends and family members to Robert Johnson and they thank me for introducing them to him. Robert is professional, kind, funny and is the best at what he does. I am a client for life as well as many of my family members and frinds. I read some of the reviews on this site and laugh. Yes, his salon is located on the garden on Main St in Lisle. He is a good family man and a great entraprenuer. He is not the person some stated in their reviews. To sum things up Robert will be my barber/hair stylist for life. His prices are very reasonable and I look forward on visiting his salon weekly for my haircuts.

I bought a Groupon for the Robert Johnson Salon for partial highlights and a haircut thinking a salon located in downtown Lisle would be decent at the very least. It turned out to be my worst experience at a salon to date. When I arrived at the salon, I was disappointed in the cleanliness right off the bat. There was hair on the floor, the station tables, and on the tools. Next, I was disappointed in the haircut and highlights. The highlights are nowhere near my scalp. The day after getting them done, it honestly looked like I had them done over a month ago. Then Robert razored my whole haircut, which I don’t believe is the right technique for my curly hair as it seems to accentuate any frizziness. It was also a bit uncomfortable on my scalp so it seemed his scissors were not very sharp. But most of all, I was disappointed in Robert’s professionalism. As another reviewer mentioned, his demeanor was just off. He had a hard time concentrating on the task at hand, asked the same questions over and over without realizing he had asked the same thing just a few minutes earlier, and ranted about various people in his life. I walked out of there thinking he was high as a kite and was just shocked at how awful an experience I had.

Perhaps it’s because I was one of the last customers of the night, but my experience at Robert Johnson Salon was not at all what I expected from the reviews I read on Yahoo. The place was tucked away in a basement level front making it slightly difficult to find and the staff was lacking. Only Robert was working and he seemed to be having a hard time balancing himself between getting me started and finishing his previous client. Also, not to judge anyone’s personal actions, but he didn’t appear to be himself. He was easily distracted, jumpy in his topics of conversation and overall lacking in his attention to detail when doing my hair. For instance, I came in for a partial highlight and haircut(offer from Groupon Now) and he stopped highlighting to turn on music and then completely ignored the fact that he still had the whole left side of my head to highlight and was about to discard the«extra» dye he had been using. Had I not been paying attention and reminded him of this fact, he would not have noticed at all. Also, when I was processing under the dryer, he left for a minute to «get something from his car» and came back smelling like weed. I didn’t want to think that’s why he acting strangely and really wanted to attribute his behavior to having an off night, but I couldn’t make excuses for smoking on the job. I was disconcerted at having someone not in their right state coloring and cutting my hair, but stupidly I gave him the benefit of the doubt and allowed him to cut my hair. The color came out fine(thank god) but the layers I have now are all uneven and the length of my hair is all jagged on the ends. This could be due to the fact that while cutting my hair he took a personal phone call(and again went outside to his car) and then finished cutting my hair. I am extremely disappointed in my experience, but I partially blame myself for staying and allowing someone I knew to be clearly not in their right state of mind style my hair. My recommendation for anyone who still wants to try this salon is to go during daylight hours and to not let your stylist leave to «go to their car for a minute.»

I visited Robert Johnson Salon in my quest to find someplace to get my hair cut that is in the downtown Lisle area which didn’t butcher my sideburns, actually used a pair of scissors(see my review of Main Street Hair Company for more) and didn’t involve a stylist who had the shakes while cutting my hair. So…I called the salon, and Robert was able to get me in about 40 mins later. His salon is in the lower level of a 3 story complex(it took me a few moments to figure out how to get down there), and all-in-all I’m pretty happy. The cut was good, my side burns are even(yay!), the music was loudish, the conversation was enjoyable(and interesting at times!) and the price was very reasonable. I’m already booked for another cut in a few weeks… maybe the search is over.
