My grandfather bought a Kupenhiemer top coat when he came back from WWII. I inherited that coat and it was cosmetically perfect save the lining. In a lapse of judgement I assumed. I assumed I’d be charged a fair price. Upon completion I was informed it was $ 550.00. I said I think that’s a bit steep and he said he’d take of $ 20.00. I said no that’s ok, but take a real good look at me because you’re never going to see me again. I wrote the check because I couldn’t let that coat go. It was my tie to my Grandfather and Tony took advantage of that. Get an estimate, and know what you’re dealing with.

The quality of the work is excellent. Attention to detail and perfection. You are paying for an expert tailor, not a fancy shop. If you want your clothes to come out right I highly suggest this establishment.

Way too expensive. He quoted $ 28 to hem a pair of pants, when most other tailors will do it for $ 8-$ 10. Stay away.

I take everything to get tailored here. Tony is the sweetest man and does amazing quality work. Personally, I’d rather pay extra for a quality job, then have to get it fixed again. I also have to disagree with the reviews about the décor. It is a tailor’s shop, it doesn’t need to be fancy if the staff gets the job done well. So what? The décor may be outdated, but what does that matter if it is always clean and spotless? Tony really prides himself on customer service. He’ll even speak in Italian with me, even though I have forgotten most of it. Also, no, he doesn’t accepts credit cards. But he does accept cash and checks. So I always remember to bring my checkbook or stop at the ATM before going. It really is not that big of an inconvenience.(and this is coming from the girl who refuses to carry cash — ever) If you are looking for quality service for a fair price, this is the only place to go. If you are looking for a cheap fix, I can’t help you here.

I have gone to Tony for 15 years. He does excellent alterations and custom tailoring work. Overall i have found his prices to be the same or better than most department stores, but of much higher quality. Hemming trousers is pretty basic — if that’s all you need, most dry cleaners will do it more cheaply. However, I have had jackets, trousers and skirts re sized or modified, as well as having fancier dresses shortened. All of these services require significant skill. He does only take cash or check — which is more inconvenient

Place looks like it’s straight out of the 70s, and not the better part of the 70s. For what he charges for basic work, the interior is just a disgrace. Doesn’t take credit cards. He does good work, which is why this is two stars and not one.

Agree with Zach. Tony charged me $ 18 to hem my pants. And they only take cash, I think. Avoid!

The work may be great, but $ 17 to shorten a pair of pants? I walked right back out. Go to Ah Sew in Westmont.
