My wife and I drove from the south side of Atlanta to play the disc golf course after reading reviews. Pulling into the parking lot fear began to creep up on us. However, giving it the benefit of the doubt I located a sign with the park map and walked over hoping to find out information of location of the course. Now the fear slapped me hard and with out doubt. There was what seemed to be a bullet hole in the sign and no location of Tennis courts(as mentioned by and persons review) or Disc Golf course. I literally RAN back to my car told the wife to roll up the windows lock the doors and got the heck out of there!!! The park is old and just plain nasty. I would never ever ever ever go there for any reason!!! Going back to Unilocal to locate another course we headed to Lenora Park less than 20 miles away and had a blast. If you decide to try out Redan Park… I told you so…

This course and east roswell are my FAVS in the ATL metro area! It’s an awesome course for beginners because it is technical as hell and will whip your ass into a pro pretty damn fast. I made this course my BITCH about a year and a half ago. My best score being 7? under. Yeah, I rock. ah, I have an extremely accurate throw and it is really really fun for people with accurate direction! It is in the GHETTOOOOOOOOO something fierce. If you go around the time the school gets out, there is a cop on every block to keep the mini felons from shiving you or whatever the fuck they do at that school… so don’t crack a brew on friday afternoon until you are in the parking lot!

Iv’e now played a few rounds on this well put together intermediate level course. theres a few hard holes but overall its pretty friendly for all skill levels along with dogs! Our dog loves to caddy here and it makes for a good 2 hour hike as I chase my discs back and forth across the holes. Make sure you park next to the recreation center and not in the other parts of the park cause it can be a hike. Also some players have reported getting broken into here so make sure you take your valuables out of your car!

Being new to disc golf, I’ve only been using my friend’s discs, as he’s been playing a year longer, and has quite a collection. We’ve only been going to one at United Methodist in Chamblee so far. It was nice to pass through the local historic towns and the view of stone mountain on the way to Redan; it was also a perfect day. There’s a lot more freedom in the design of these courses than at the church; a good mix of woods and open field; not too much underbrush the discs can slide under. Some parts could use a little clean up. It’s easy to mistake hole 16’s basket for 10’s. The #10 hole is behind a stump to the right. Also the«1» on 16’s label is marked or rubbed out. There were a few rubbed out or missing tee signs. Would’ve liked to see more golfers but it was a weekday afternoon after all. Overall, really fun, relaxing, and challenging.

Disc golf course at Redan Park is pretty good. When initially parking, look for the tennis courts and park near those.(We parked at the main park entrance and had to circumnavigate the entire park to find the first tee.) There’s a putting warm up area before you go down the concrete sidewalk to the first concrete tee pad. Course was easy to follow, except for the holes mentioned in the previous review(6 to 7, and 7 to 8). But we found them after a minute or two searching. Also be prepared to step over some knee-high dirt erosion fences as some construction is going on in the park as of the date of this review. It was a little muddy in some places especially after some days of rain; so wear some hiking shoes if its been wet recently. Course needs a little maintenance, a couple of tee signs missing, as well as visible basket marker numbers. Overall a pretty good experience.

Rosewood-DeKalb at Redan Park Disc Golf Course was established in 1989. The course plays from either 4800′ to 6100′ depending on the which of the 65 different pin positions are used. Pros: There are anywhere from three to four pin positions on each hole which change weekly giving the disc golfer a variety of shots. There are concrete tees and tee signs on every hole as well. Great group of local players are always around keeping the course looking beautiful and never mind showing a beginning golfer a few tricks to the park. Cons: Flow between the holes in pretty smooth with the exemption being hole 6 to hole 7 and again between hole 7 and hole 8. The course is located in a neighborhood that has become a little sketchy. Overall: If you are an out of town disc golfer, this is one course you should play. The best times to go are the weekend as the park does fill up with casual disc golfers. When parking don’t leave things in open view that could tempt a smash & grab. Although there haven’t been any smash & grabs reported in past few months… always plan on the safe side.
