I brought a Rolex in that I had purchased used for a routine service and regulation since it was gaining a few seconds a day. I was told that it was missing parts(part of bezel mechanism), had internal damage, and a cracked crystal. It took over a month for them to get back to me with this information. It was quoted over $ 1,000 for the repair. Contacted the seller and and he offered to pay for anything that a Rolex shop could find wrong with the watch as he believed the watch was nearly perfect(it appeared that way to me) and the seller was known to me. Took it to an authorized Rolex repair facility. Was told the the crystal was brand new with no chips, the bezel mechanism was perfect, the watch was in nearly mint shape, and it only needed a minor regulation(done free of charge). This whole process took two days. The watch keeps perfect time now. I am not a watch expert, but I didn’t believe them when they told me about the issues. I am glad I only paid the $ 100+ appraisal fee instead of the $ 1,000 plus repair bill. I won’t be going back to Lititz Watch. Rolex authorized service may cost a bit more, but the trust is there. And this adjustment was done free of charge as a goodwill gesture even though I was not the original purchaser. My first negative review and I don’t like leaving it, but I feel I was very close to being ripped off.
