The project was completed. Period. Not good; definitely not great. Mark my words on this: Gary Gootman does not care about the quality of your project. He appears to only be concerned in the money: the deposit, the middle payment and the final check. Not ONCE did he or his foreman/brother come during the 3+ weeks it took to build my patio. There is no customer service. Gary began the project a week late by failing to show up on the day HE selected to start. I let him know he was starting off on the wrong foot. This company is completely outsourced to others. And not all of their subcontractors are professional. Just as the other guy commented about someone peeing on their property, one of Gary’s crew members cut a brand new soaker hose in multiple pieces — for no apparent reason. Since Gary didn’t bother to show up for the final walk through, I did share this along with some other unprofessional things their crews do in their absence. I had a crew throw items over my recently stained fence, leaving marks and scratches that required another stain job. All of the crews left trash in the yard and driveway to the point that I had to tell Gary if I get a nail in one of my tires, he would be paying. Another incident was when Gary explicitly told me his crew would be back out the next week to finish up their part of the project. The crew showed up on Saturday morning insisting to start work. I had to send him his own email where he again picked the date and screwed it up. He told me he couldn’t cancel it; I told him he’d better find a way because they were not getting in. I had already made other plans. Unprofessional. The most unnerving incident occurred when Gary insisted I pay more money for parts ultimately determined were not needed on a contract that was all inclusive. I told him I would stop the job and file in court immediately and every judge and court in America would agree with me that you can’t change the context of a contract once it has been executed by both parties. I wanted to think that Gary had changed and his business relationships had gotten better. However, I quickly learned he’s just another person who gives contractors a bad reputation. He only cares about the money; no interest in my project at all. I should have gone with Upgrades Construction.

Complete Outdoor Concepts just finished up a patio project, including stamped concrete and an arbor. I am giving 2 stars simply because of the actual work done. The quality of work done as well as the reasonable price is a plus for this company. However, I feel obligated to provide some information regarding their customer service. I signed the contract for this work on May 9, 2015. We got an unusually high amount of rain during this month, so we knew the work would be postponed because of the weather. I did not have a problem with this. I told Gary that I would need to be notified when someone would be coming out to the house, as I have to let my dog inside while they perform the work, and frankly, I just wanted to be home while the work was ongoing anyways. On numerous occasions, Gary would tell me that the work would be done on a particular day. He would then tell me that they are behind schedule, and would need to push out the work again. No problem. Here is my main issue. On numerous occasions, I was told the work would be done on a specific day. I would stay home that day, and reach out to Gary around 12 – 1 to ask why no one has shown up. I would then be told that they would NOT be coming out after all. This happened at least 5 times. I am understanding about falling behind schedule, as well as unforeseen events. But if you aren’t 100% sure the work will be done that day, don’t tell your customer that same day that it won’t be done… especially more than once. The work was completed on August 25, 2015. Again, I am happy with the work performed as far as quality goes, but the overall customer service was definitely lacking.
