We needed to feed a wedding party for breakfast. Pete & Joy’s was nearby and they were very helpful in fulfilling our order. We had a wide array of all they had. I especially liked the minion cookies. Definitely worth a stop.

Saw this place off of 27 on our way to Osakis… We’d bee heading to the local McDonalds but were pleasantly surprised to find a locally-owned bakery option. There were several great baked goods to choose from, and there was an impressive selection of decorated cookies(great for little kids). It was also fun to browse around the assortment of Polish pottery and other items.

Stopped in to grab a donut and coffee and ended up with a pie and loaf of bread to go. I was surprised by their variety in coffee and pastries, they fit a lot in a small establishment. There is one small back room for dining which has a model training running and must be a hit with young kids. Glad we popped in from camping. Looks like they’ve been at this a long time and know what they are doing.

We were in Little Falls for a three day getaway. We stopped in one day, and came back again. My wife was seduced by the«Whopee Pie»: a generous, gooey glob of chocolate cake halves, Oreo whipped cream filling, and fudge frosting. We also ordered their egg salad sandwiches twice(wish I could get their egg salad recipe. Super creamy and tasty!) Rounded out the visits with peanut-coated cake donuts. Caloric delights.

Mayberry in MN. A great stopover for lunch on the way to Walker, if this is the route you’re taking. I got a hot roast beef sandwich. Not as I expected open-faced with gravy, but in a large bun. It was a delicious choice. For dessert I got a couple of CCC that I gobbled down on the spot. Desserts are plentiful and look fabulous. A good size eating area and I love the chairs. Not only wasn’t I sure if they took credit cards, I wasn’t sure what year it was.

I was so sad the other day. I love the sloppy joes at Pete and Joy’s…Yes, I know that sounds so odd but I do. We were in LF for our 6 month dental check ups and Ci always has to go to P and J“s for one of their big train shaped frosted sugar cookies! She has loved these since she was 10 years old! She ran in to get the cookie and my sloppy and when she returned to the car, she was sloppy joe less… My eyes widened–«What? Where is my sloppy joe?» They put them away for the day she says to me. «Its only 2:30!». Ci used to have ballet class twice a week in LF and after school they would come here and eat before class so I KNOW they used to have the sloppies well beyond 2:30. I asked her. ‘Did you tell them we drove 2 hours?”…Clearly they could go in the back and get me one… I am thinking the lady didn’t want to be bothered by going into the back to make a sloppy joe… Do they not sell any of the sandwiches past 2:30 anymore? That’s my story but I do like this place. Its everything a small town bakery should be. Its friendly, has great baked goods, and a nice little dining area for breakfast and lunch. If you are lucky enough to get a sloppy joe, try one! Get extra pickles! You will be happy!

Just a little, small-town bakery serving sandwiches in a cute attached dining room. This place is all about family and home. I love the«daily newspaper» they had on the table with snippets of current events from around the town(even the obituaries). Their breakfast sandwiches are pretty much toast with egg and sausage, looking like something you would make at home which is exactly what to expect here. All the pastries looked very good, and on a Saturday morning the place was pretty packed. I eavesdropped a bit on the locals, and the conversation fit the theme… weather forecasts, the farmer’s almanac predictions, who was sick in town, the local high school football prospects, and how the pheasant hunting season was going. Perfect escape from the busy city… how places like this never go extinct.
