This review is not for their dine in experience but delivery instead. The order was placed through a online service similar to Seamless. Was in the mood for Thai and remembered seeinf this place on Northern when I was stuck in traffic. Checked my usual online food site and voila, they’re on it. I skimmed through their menu as my better half went through their Unilocal reviews which for the majority was good. Placed a order for the Roti, Chicken Pad Thai and a 2 Meat combo over rice out of curiosity. Got a phone call shortly after placing the order, was informed the roast pork was sold out and the Hainese chicken would be a great substitute because it’s really good and flavorful. Sounds good to me right? Order shows up and as we unpack, the Pad Thai portion look pretty standard to us… no problem. Roti? Looked good! Pulled out the container with the 2 meat combo over rice and my jaw just dropped. They truly ripped us off. It was $ 9.50 for what was rice with a side of meat. I thought maybe it was hidden under the rice, nope… just rice. The itty little bit of roast duck was okay and that itty bitty portion of Hainese chicken wasn’t really all that great. The spicy red sauce that came with it truly gave it flavor, not the chicken itself but at least it wasn’t dry. You can see for yourself in the photo section on my rice with side of 2 meats which was supposed to be 2 meats over rice and at $ 9.50… Sorry, I don’t think I’ll be ordering delivery from here again nor dine in if the opportunity allowed.

They’ve finally earned the four stars, this time for service with a smile and hospitality. My gals and I had a fun night out. We were waited on promptly and the waiter didn’t waste time with getting us our wines and Thai Iced tea when seated. He politely took our appetizer order. Showed us the specials and took time out to explain some dishes we had questions on. Must try the sautéed Flounder. It was fresh, moist, lightly fried, and paired with great stir fry of vegetables. The brown sauce was not over powering the dish which is important given its a delicate fish flavor. Again, the Roti is not to be dismissed. It’s a wonderful appetizer for sharing or tell your friends to order their own. So tempting to NOT wanna share. It comes out a nice fluffy texture. Pillowy. Hot. Everything Naan should be. I always love a good roti and curry dipping sauce. The chicken chunks and potatoes in the curry sauce were soft and stewed to the right consistency. I didn’t get to take a picture but you should try the fried calamari appetizer … looked like seafood«rings». Crunchy on the outside, semi-soft on the inside. Paired with a sweet and sour chili sauce. We also ordered the chicken satay. It was only alright. But I give them points for the peanut dipping sauce it was paired with. The peanut sauce was a standout. I’m glad I returned. Am hoping it’ll become a neighborhood go to spot. Prices are reasonable and their food portions are great for sharing. This is my third review, gotta give credit when it’s due.

I’ve only been here twice and both times, I left satisfied. The waitresses were very attentive and friendly. The food were very good and everything was clean. Plus, they offer free Thai iced tea when you check in! There was a small confusion with one of the dishes we ordered, but the waitress handled it very professionally. I would definitely come back again.

One of the better choices when you are craving for some thai/Malaysian food. Service is very attentive and parking in front or rear. Ordered the nasi lemak with chicken and rice. Rice is flavorful and the curry sauce has the right amount of flavor. The curry brisket noodle is one of my favorite choices and I usually get it with egg noodle, but you can choose either wide or rice noodles. The brisket is soft and tender. The soup is creamy and not too watery. Eggplant platter is well made for you vegetarians out there. At the time of this review they offer free dessert or thai ice tea. Even though it was free, they did not water the thai ice tea down and it had the right amount of sweetness. No longer do you have to trek to flushing for some good thai/malaysian cusine.

Menu: A decent amount of food choices. Sucks that the more popular parts of Thai Cuisine is restricted to lunch. 3⁄5 Service: Good service, although the staff will try to sucker you into buying more expensive dishes. 3⁄5 Aesthetics: Has a family-feel to it. Restaurant is overall pretty clean. 4⁄5 Food: Good food, nothing really extraordinary like food at BKNY. Food came faster than I thought it would and usually comes in large portions. 4⁄5 Price: Relatively balanced when it comes to pricing, although some appetizers are obviously overpriced when you look at the portions given to you. 3⁄5 Drinks: Nothing too exceptional. Though I did enjoy the leaf free tea. 3⁄5 Overall Score: 3.3÷5

This used to be an Italian restaurant for many years back so you can see traces of it around the restaurant. Parking in the church parking lot next door. Simply walk straight in and wait to be seated by the person next to the register. There’s a bar at the front. Arrived with a party of 4 and was seated immediately, surprised to hear a lot of cantonese spoken here. Sat at a large table on the side wedged between 2 other large tables. The menu is a clean and heavy book. Lunch special found towards front and chef recommendations at the back with pictures. The staff was very attentive and nice. The waitress made recommendations as well. There was a discrepancy with the pineapple fried rice which was labeled in red, and the menu said items marked in red was spicy. The waiter cleared up the confusion for us though. Overall ambiance is nice and clean. Ordered seafood with bean curd casserole, roti canai, pineapple fried rice, hainanese chicken, beef rendang, saigon style porkchop, and a bobo chacha. Everything came in a timely manner except for the roti canai, which came last. Usually this dish comes first since it’s an appetizer, maybe they forgot about it. Pineapple fried rice-small pineapple dices were kind of tart, had(boiled?)shrimp, yellow raisins, and(frozen?) Carrot and peas. Wasn’t a fan of this pineapple fried rice unfortunately. Beef rendang– was not bad, the meat was very tender but the taste still didn’t impress me. Hainanese chicken-was okay, reminded me of chinese white poached chicken because the skin didn’t have that smooth texture you usually find in hainanese chicken. Seafood casserole– was also okay, but I thought the tofu was kind of salty. Saigon porkchop-not bad, paired well with the fish sauce. Roti canai-not like the paper thin ones you find at other thai/malay places. It was very flaky and crisp(think of a flattened croissant). But there was only one disk of this bread with 3 of those chinese shrimp chips plaxed under it to elevate it(didn’t see any other purpose for those chips to be honest). The curry that came with it was okay, but it didn’t wow me. Bobo chacha-was also okay, but again… didn’t wow me like other places. Overall the food was okay, but not impressive, I also felt the portions were quite small for what you pay for. For dining in with 7 dishes it came out to be around $ 90-$ 95…which is like double the cost compared to other restaurants. Staff was overall nice, but couldn’t help but notice a guy with glasses continuously walking and staring at people. Not sure if he’s the owner or another staff, but it felt unpleasant looking up and notice him watching you haha… The waitress informed us that if we pay in cash we can get a $ 10 coupon. So we paid in cash, but no one came to collect the bill. We proceeded to give it to the lady at front so we can get the voucher but she was rather busy with taking phone calls. It’s not a big deal, but I rather not stand around/wait to leave. It just leaves a slightly«sour note» to end the experience. A couple left without paying for their food, seems like they were unsatisfied with what they ordered since I heard them talking. For me, the place is not bad to eat especially for this area. But if you compare it to other restaurants, it definitely falls flat. When walking into a place with nice ambiance and shucking out $ 90+, your expectations for the food is higher. I’ll give this place another go and try something else to see if my view will change. Short summary: nice ambiance, clean, pricey small portioned average tasting food.

Not sure what to make of this place. It just opened recently and I thought I would try it since I was in the mood for Thai. It turned out to be(less than average) Chinese food with spice. It was just a few weeks after grand opening when I first went there, so I can forgive the wait staff who was untrained, but the taste is not something I can overlook. Chicken green curry usually has peppers and other veggies with a rich curry sauce, at this place you get pickled bamboo shoots and chicken with very bland curry. The basic Thai ice-tea I’ve ordered from numerous authentic Thai restaurant was brown here and didn’t taste like anything I have had before. My 10 year-old who normally loves this stuff refused it too. Seriously there are so many other choices in the neighborhood, don’t waste your money. The nearby Krung Tep is sooo much better at the same price. I should have driven that extra mile and gone there instead.

I did enjoy this place and would definitely try it again. This restaurant is brand new, opening where Italian restaurant Conti’s resided for years. The restaurant is not located in a prime spot, so parking is a slight issue, although it is difficult to miss the neon sign hanging proudly over the restaurant. Although the restaurant emphasizes Asian fusion, a majority of the menu is Thai, Malaysian, and Chinese. You will not find Japanese food, which is commonly found at most«Asian fusion» joints. The décor is somewhat modern, although it feels as if you are eating in someone’s house. The tables have wonderful patterns, the ambiance is relaxed, and the overall décor is great. The menu is quite good, with lunch specials EVERYDAY, all reasonably priced. There is a variety of Thai inspired dishes along with a few Malaysian dishes(beef rendang and roti canai), along with a few Chinese dishes(Hainanese chicken for example…) The service is great, the owner was accommodating and the waitresses were friendly. We started off with their Thai ice teas, that were sweet and perfect for the cold weather. We came for lunch, so we sampled their lunch specials(which were priced between $ 6-$ 8.) They were served with mini spring rolls, which were served warm, but not hot, so I couldn’t tell if they were freshly made. They were delicious, although they were not crispy. The vegetables were great, especially when dipped in their yummy cucumber sauce. We tried their roti canai, a Malaysian/Thai flatbread typically served with a curry sauce. The roti was the perfect thickness, very flaky. The curry sauce wasn’t served hot, which was strange. The curry was the perfect spiciness, not overpowering by any means, but definitely had a savory aspect from the beef and potato. The roti was served with colored chips, which was unexpected, but definitely made a classic dish more modern. The food came out very fast, which may just be a result of there only being three-four tables at 2:30. I ordered the hainanese chicken, which I think is supposed to be a cold dish. The portion was the perfect lunch size. The chicken was good, a little bland. The texture was perfect and the chicken was cooked well. It was served with an amazing yellow rice, which I think is entitled chicken rice on the menu. We also ordered a beef fried rice(not adventurous) because we weren’t in the mood for their ribs. The rice tasted like it had Southeast Asia influences, based on the spices. The portion was large and the dish was successful. The prices are cheap here! Despite the little flaws in food temperature, this restaurant was definitely one of my favorite Thai/Malaysian restaurants in the area.

This place is completely overpriced and the quality of the food is not good. The thai iced tea-watered down. Shanghai mei fun-flavorless. The Tom Kha Khi was just ok. I definitely would not order from there again.

Terrible service, owner is incompetent, portions small… we came tonight for dinner before the crowd. Ordered 2 apps, 5 dishes plus noodle dish, and 5 drinks. Each dish came out separately in a 1 hour span and we didn’t get 3 dishes we ordered. The drinks came out after 1 app and 2 main dishes. Do not speak with the owner because he’ll just give you a runaround with why food takes so long. He said it was computer problem. However, other patrons got their food and they sat after my party. Really have never had such abysmal service. Stick with Flushing Malaysian/Thai restaurants.

Food is not bad. The only issue I had was the male waiter with glasses on. I wasn’t done ordering and he wanted to walk off after I ordered the first dish. I ordered Thai seafood noodle soup and specifically requested for flat noodles(I said it twice) and I did not get my flat noodles, I got those yellow noodles instead. My friend ordered tom yum seafood noodles, she also requested for flat noodles but she got hers. We both ordered Roti canai but it didn’t come out until I asked another waitress about it since it was the appetizer and we was both halfway done with the entrée. The waitress was kind enough to apologize about bringing the Roti canai at the end, not a big deal but I think the male waiter needs some training. We only ordered 2 soup noodle dishes, 2 Roti canai, and 2 Thai ice tea, usually waiters don’t really need to write it down but our waiter did and the orders still came out messed up.

Stopped by Thai’s Asian Cuisine early on a Sunday evening. We didn’t realize it at the time but we really beat the crowd! Our party of five had Thai iced tea(not too sweet, nice!), roti canai, crispy seafood noodles, beef rendang, Chinese water spinach, the curry crab, and a few orders of chicken rice. Everybody left stuffed, everything was delicious, and service was very helpful. My favorite was the beef rendang. Very tender and flavorful — it’s not a dish that can be rushed in preparation.

I came here after about a few months it opened and I think it’s alright. If you’re going to compare it to BKNY, Satay, or Sentosa it won’t even touch those places. The price is a bit more than expected too. The pad Thai which I rate my southern east restaurants with tasted like ketchup… Not really sweet and sour. The Roti was a different and thicker than the other places I been too, but none the less I liked it. The hainan chicken was good. The Thai ice tea was sweet but it should have had the Thai taste and bitterness, though I guess since my companions and I looked young they thought it was best be sweeter. Next time I’ll try the curry and give an update. If you’re looking for quick Thai food you could try this place but don’t expect too much.

Wanted to try. Off to a good start but needs work. Came on weeknight. Seated right away. As former Malaysia resident, talked to waitress from Ipoh and ordered satay, kuay teoh. Satay came quickly and well done. Beef had that sweetish taste of barbecue. Came with onion and cucumber(but no ketupat or rice cake). Noodles were good but I asked for the hot sauce. Place needs to get the chili-tamarind sauce on every Malaysian table. Saw other familiar foods going out to several large parties. Also has free wi-fi, classical music overhead. Waiters friendly. Believe somewhat overpriced. Took over former Italian place that had been there decades, so maybe Tony Soprano charging a lot. Want to come back in a few weeks. We need Malaysian Chinese food east of Flushing.

Do not forget to order«rice» when ordering curry in this place. I picked up Thai chicken curry for dinner, and we found no rice in the bag. I called the place and the manager told we «should have». I have never been at an asian restaurant that asks to order rice separately. Taste was just so-so. I also ordered shrimp pad Thai and it was just okay, not good not bad. Chicken curry was a bit spicy, and I believe most may feel strong. Tom yam soup was good, but it was not good enough to appease my upset feeling by the rice thing.

Had the beef rendeng, kungkao balachan, Tom yum soup and Indian pancake. A new place not 100% satisfy but it’s good in the area. Menu not as robust as other Thai Malay restaurants. Pricing is slightly higher on some items but not too big of a deal. I do not recommend the Indian pancake since they made it seem like it was those frozen types.

Great Thai and Malaysian food east of utopia parkway. Prices are fair and portions are generous. The service is polite and unintrusive. Would definitely come back frequently. Of note some décor from the previous Italian restaurant remains but that does not detract from the food itself.

Came for the grand opening. Was quite impressed/surprised on the quality of the food. What I really wanted to try was the Hainanese Chicken but they were sold out already so I settled for the Rendang Beef. The flavor was very well marinated and the beef was tender. Great local spot and especially if you don’t want to trek down to flushing. Highly recommend and certainly will be back. Street parking only.
