Nice little diner, Staff was very welcoming from the door to the table. Food was great and served fairly quickly. I will definitely consider stopping by when passing through again!

Four of us stopped in for dinner. The diner is inviting from the outside, making me wish I ha my camera to get a low light photo. There is seating«on the front porch» where I will sit on my next visit. The menu is pretty diverse: our group ordered Cajun salmon, two catfish dinners, and beef tips. Business had been good that day and we were told they were out of the beef tips, so it was three orders of catfish and the Cajun salmon. Sides included Cajun fries, corn, and applesauce. We had starters of fried shrimp(5 to an order). The food was outstanding, cooked and seasoned to perfection. Certainly not what you expect at these low prices here in rural central Tx. Business was steady, with folks dining in as well as picking up orders called in. Service was friendly and capable. We left happy.

Gazette Diner has, at this time, only been open about a week and this was my first visit. That being said the service was a little slow. There were three people in the kitchen and a girl taking the orders. I ordered a «Been Nation Cheese» burger all the way and hold the cheese. My burger came out perfect the patty was a little on the thin side but browned and ever so slightly crispy, Just how I like it. Also all the way will come with the usual plus jalapenos at no extra charge. In addition to the burger I got the combo(fries and a drink) and the total came out to be 7.38. The two people I was eating with ordered the«Swiss Melt Cheese Burger» and the«Lone Star Avocado Club», their patties were a little gray and not fully browned like mine was and they were out of avocado. I mention this to illustrate they’re still new and it seems that consistency is a little touch and go, but they do have the ability to produce decent food. Yes the price is a little steep for what you get to someone who is used to Whataburger, but it’s nice to have a burger place in town again. All in all they didn’t scare me away and I plan on going back!
