Excellent breakfast, good pricing. I go for the gypsy skillet, and my wife loves the country fried chicken with eggs.

Wonderful courteous service, very good food for very little money. They had chicken fried steak as a brunch special with eggs and when I asked if I could have it with mashed potatoes and a vegetable instead, they could not have been nicer or more accommodating. They even asked me did I want brown gravy or sausage gravy. Waitstaff refilled drinks often and the sweet tea was just what I was craving. Ideal place for good basic diner food cooked to order.

Matthew’s does it right. If you are looking for an authentic old school breakfast this is the place to go. The entire staff is very kind and down to earth. Even the owner came by to make sure we were happy.

Great place to stop for a quick breakfast. Belgian waffle with strawberries was one of the best I’ve had. Lots of fresh strawberries. The side of ham was large and thick, not anything like the usual side of ham.
My husband got the biscuits and gravy with eggs and home fries. It was enough for at least 2 hungry people.
I drink hot tea and our waitress, Felicia, brought a large pot of hot water as well as a large pot of coffee for refills, plus honey and lemon for the tea as well. This appears to be a popular local place.

My family and I waited forever for our simple meals to be served.
While our waitress was nice, the staff at the front was not. They, in contrast, treated us very rudely by only accepting our money without even a «thank you.»
Would more than likely not come again.

I went here today with my wife and 2 boys (5 & 6), and had a great waitress. Really upset i cannot recall her name but she was the best waitress that has ever served me in any restaurant. 1 of my boys had ant in his pants and the other was grumpy and my wife and I were struggling to get it under control. She noticed and talked to the boys for a minute and it made a world of difference. The food was ok and if i had to do a review the food alone I would only give it 2 stars. But the waitress made it a 5 stars with her great attitude, cheerfulness and made us feel welcome like we were in her own kitchen. She was the definition of southern hospitality.

Very good food, large breakfast menu plus specials, friendly, clean fast great local restaurant good prices. Haven’t had lunch there.
