Great Irish pub spot on Little River. Good food and good atmosphere. The fried grouper sandwich had a big piece of fish and was very tasty. Apparently we had just missed the last order of Irish spring rolls left(we arrived about 6pm), which was a bummer since I had heard so much about them. Service was fantastic. We’ll be back.

What a nice kick-off to the holiday season was the holiday regatta dinner this past weekend. The more than generous portions were quite tasty our server, Nicole was both personable and quick. The friendly banter between patrons only added to our evening enjoyment. Thanks to all for the wonderful evening.

Guinness for goodness sake. No matter what you do, eat the Guinness Burger or the Crab Cake Sandwich. The sandwich bun was a little dry, but the crab cake more than made up for it. All potato sides are outstanding. Super friendly staff and a beautiful, tranquil dock situation. No complaints. All smiles and full bellies!

One of the worst experience on myrtle beach. I had the seafood trio blackened, fish, shrimp and crap cake. With a side of coleslaw . Coleslaw was rotten. Crab cake had no taste and poorly prepared and cold. The food was very salty to eat. My wife ordered blackened Flounder with roasted vegetables. The flounder had no taste, the veggies were chopped and steamed. Won’t come backs

Love this place! You can eat outside and overlook the water, which is great. Their drinks are very reasonable, and the food is great! I have loved everything I’ve had. The service is good, and the owner is very nice. I really like this restaurant. The specials change all the time, but they have their regular menu items as well.

We loved Fibber’s, the restaurant in this location before so we wanted to try McMahon’s. The Irish pub décor has been enhanced a bit inside and the décor is by far the nicest of any in the Little River waterfront. The deck on the water remains small with perhaps 8 tables, but this is where you want to sit. Last night was the perfect evening to be outside enjoying the sunset and watching the boats come in. The new menu seems to be more limited than the previous menu. Appetizers, a couple of salads, only one soup. They have sandwiches including a hamburger and a shrimp burger as well as a few other selections. Entries include fish and chips, shepherds pie, and a trio of seafood. McMahon’s supplements their regular menu with a pretty extensive specials menu. I had the Trio which includes shrimp, cod, and a crab cake(no substitutions) along with one side and a garden salad. My of can have your seafood grilled, broiled, or fried. I opted for fried which turned out to be nicely fried in a light batter. The shrimp were medium/large, and the cod a nice size of fish. Both of these I really enjoyed. I can’t say the same for the crab cake however. The crab was very fine and mixed with a lot of sauce, almost like they fried some of their crab dip(crab dip is one of the appetizer options btw). It wasn’t bad tasting, but it also wasn’t particularly good. Where McMahon’s food really shines is the freshness of their salads and sides. Obviously made in house and not pre-packaged. The salad greens where very fresh as were the cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, and red onion. The croutons where scarce and kinda flat rating. The salad dressing was most likely from a bottle. Shame to put it on the very nice salad, but I did. I had their Yukon Gold Mashed Pitatoes and they were terrific! Obviously made in house with a little skin left on. I imagine the Sheppards pie is pretty awesome with these Pitatoes! My wife had the Fish n Chips with a generous piece of haddock lightly fried and very delicious fries. The fries appeared to be home made as well and were lightly seasoned. Very good. Our service was not the most attentive which lowered this review a star. We were greeted very warmly and sincerely thanked by the owner and bar tender when we left, but our waitress, while polite, seemed harried or short. What was most disappointing however, was that she didn’t check on us from the time our food was delivered until we completed our dinner. Our drinks were not refilled until after dinner and we never received the condiments we would have liked for our fish and fries. It’s amazing how a dining experience with good food can be hurt by poor service. I really wanted to love this place and with another visit perhaps I will.

We drove to Little River to have dinner at Fibber’s, one of our favorites. We were surprised to find it is now under new management and called McMahons. The menu is somewhat limited although there are daily specials. The Fish & Chips entrée was average but the salad and coleslaw were very fresh and flavorful. The service was lacking in that our waitress failed to check back for drink refills or other needs until the meal was over. She was somewhat friendly but not overly nice. It was not particularly busy which makes me wonder what her demeanor is during a rush. All-in-all, we will come back but sadly it is no longer our Go To place.

Ate for second time at McMahon’s this past week. On first visit, they were extremely busy yet, Lisa our server, was very attentive and served a seafood trio that was quite good. Visited four other 4 star restaurants and none fared better to McMahon’s. Last night, my wife and I visited on a less busy Monday evening and met the«other» Lisa who is a part owner with Roger. Got the Mediterranean Grouper which was prepared better than what I have had in Atlanta or in various Florida trips! The portion was a pleasant surprise but the grouper was fresh day which was a real treat. On the 1st visit, I didn’t expect much from an Irish Tavern which are typically ho-hum! McMahon’s isn’t ho-hum and should surprise! Michael G — Atlanta

This is my 7th trip to the Myrtle Beach area and never have I returned to a restaurant twice in one visit until now! Do yourself a favor and stop at McMahons Irish Pub! Wish I could bring it home with me!

We were anxious to try this new addition to the LR waterfront; we liked the previous restaurant in this site. McMahon’s is a terrific place, and is a welcome change from all the nearby seafood joints. The décor(seating, deck, bar have been upgraded, so it’s very comfortable. The menu is limited(a full kid’s menu was great to see — we had a 2-yr old in the party) but every item was delicious, and the presentation was excellent — not just thrown onto plates as is common. The grouper bites and filets were really well prepared(light breading), the burgers were tasty, and the desserts were perfect. Again — presentation of the food was very well done. The waitperson(Nicole) was patient and helpful, and the manager(owner?) Roger came to our table twice to see how everything was. Try McMahons!

Fantastic, much improved(over the previous tenant) service. The food was excellent, and we certainly appreciate that they have a full kids menu, which includes fries and a scoop of ice cream. Our party had the grouper sandwich, the fish and chips, and the special pork roll burger, all of which were fantastic. We were pleasantly surprised by the sweet potato fries, which were better than the regular fries by a country mile. Overall, very impressed with the new ownership, and we’ll definitely be back!

The scallops were phenomenal as were the Mac n Cheese bites, the shrimp burger was very good, and the Shepard’s pie was good but a little bland, the Caesar salad dressing was so so, the Key Lime Pie excellent. Overall a very good experience and friendly staff

Ok — found this place after it took over another place that will remain nameless — what a find! If you try anything here it has to be the mac and cheese bites — but came for lunch the other day and soup of the day was bean and bacon — shades of Campbell’s bean and bacon — know I am dating myself here but that was good soup in my time. Mark(cutie patootie) brought me a sample — how nice is that — anyway ended up with a full cup of this awesomeness soup. And CJ(bartender) is the nicest guy ever — ask him about his boys — love talking baseball and football. Everyone here is so nice — I am sure they are going to be tired of seeing us here but hey, we love it!

Ok this food is amazing! All fresh made from scratch. Cooked to order. And the choices are out of this world. Full bar, cold beer, super friendly staff, great water front view. Do yourself a favor come try the shrimp burger fresh made in house! The burgers are yummy to the tummy.

We had buffalo chicken salad — amazing Grouper Bites, myself being from Florida – they topped it with a sold 10. Grouper sandwich – again excellent. Other in groups had sandwiches – very very good. The marbles chocolate cheese cake – too die for. This is my new favorite spot here. Service is great, owner is with the serving team and presentation is excellent.
