My kids love Build-A-Bear; it’s a pretty neat experience. However, the cost seems insane. Nearly $ 20 for a bear’s dress? Then the accessories… oh the accessories… $ 7 shoes, sounds to put in the bear $ 4-$ 8, freshener to make the bear smell like cupcakes or chocolate $ 3, sunglasses, pants, purses… You get the picture. Oh and I haven’t mentioned that you will have to spend around $ 20 for the bear(they do have some cheaper ones, but do you think the cool ones are going to be cheap?) Anywho, kids have a blast here and it is really fun for them(and it was for me too I must admit.) The kids get to really get to use their creativity to create a bear specifically for them. I would definitely recommend to take kids here at least once in their lives just be prepared to drop $ 50 per kid. After the initial visit, you can always go in later(alone) and pick up new outfits for the bear/cat/bunny/dog/penguin/etc(however, if the kids come, plan on a lot of begging to make another bear.)
