My new lunch place. I ate her for the first time today and loved it. I has the three piece fried chicken with mashed potatoes, cream gravy, purple hull peas, jalapeño cornbread and sweet tea. The fried chicken is the best I’ve had in Little Rock. It had a crisp crust that I suspect might have been a wet batter, which is hard to find around here. I loved it. The diner came with three pieces, a breast, thigh and leg. They were all big pieces but that leg was huge. The potatoes were good, and the gravy made them. You have a choice of white, brown or no gravy. The purple hull peas were very tasty and cooked just right. The jalapeño cornbread was especially good. Lots of jalapeño flavor but not a lot of overpowering heat. Tea was perfect, not sickeningly sweet, it was just the right balance. Top notch service by Carlie. She was fantastic. Comfortable atmosphere. I’m going back, the chicken fried steak is calling my name.

I need some simple, «down home» cooking. Wait, why isn’t never«up home» cooking? Anywho… I need a no frills, affordable, non-pretentious place to relax and grub. Well, Homer’s is THE place. Not as ordinary and stale as bar food. Not a diner(well, original location is… almost), but a great place for lunch. Today, chicken fried chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, cucumber salad, a yeast roll and a frosty Blue Moon. DAMN!!! I am enjoying this meal, while watching the Major League Playoffs. How American is this? Well, if it was up to an American corporation, all of these items would be made elsewhere(damn self-serving bastards). BUT, for Homer’s this is all made in house… and it rocks! God Bless, Homer’s!!!

My family and I had a wonderful Saturday morning breakfast at Homer’s. It’s kind of a perfect breakfast spot, actually. They have classic breakfast dishes(omelets, pancakes, breakfast sandwiches, etc.) with a southern flair + inexpensive prices. The restaurant is large with plenty of seating, including a covered outdoor seating area. Despite it being August in Arkansas, we were able to sit outside on an unusually low humidity day. This was perfect for our baby, as he loves being outside, as well as loves watching the traffic go by. Our waitress was also very sweet and efficient. I’m thinking this may be a monthly breakfast spot for me…

Went there for lunch. Had a hamburger steak with mac and cheese and onion rings. The hamburger steak was great with a big piece of bacon wrapped around it. Onion rings were some of the best I’ve had. Service was quick and the price wasn’t too bad.

This was my first time eating here. My friend and I didn’t have to wait very long(about 5 – 10 mins.). The food tasted good, the service was great. My only complaint is that I should have ordered the Large Catch instead of the Small Catch, because I only got two small pieces of Fish. Otherwise, I would have given a higher rating. I guess I’ll know the next time.

Homer’s West is a good place to get a simple, tasty meal at a reasonable price. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Having eaten there about a dozen times, I’ve never had a bad meal there, but don’t go in expecting a gourmet experience. That’s not what this place is about. The food is filling and the service is good. I like just about everything on their menu except for the onion rings, which have little or no seasoning to them at all.(Imagine crispy brown flour and onion.) Apart from that, go enjoy. Their happy hour runs from 3−6pm, so it’s a good place to go when eating a late lunch or getting off work early.

I’ve eaten here a few times. Nobody in my party really ever likes their entrée. I had the catfish one time 6⁄10 and the sloppy joe last time 4⁄10. The fried pickles are good though, some of the best I’ve had in the city, and the jalapeño hubcaps were also tasty. So yeah, stick to the fried items and you should be ok.

Not very good food. Very poor quality. Everything seemed manufactured and processed. Unoriginal selections purchased from a vendor and resold to the general public.

Friendly and speedy service. Food wasn’t as good as it has been in the past. The best thing was the cornbread. Mac n cheese was«sticky» with not great flavor. Chopped steak was nothing special. Maybe it was just a bad night.

We ate at Homer’s West this past Saturday for lunch. The restaurant had been selected for an impromptu meeting of local amateur radio enthusiasts via their Saturday 10 a.m. lunch net on 146.940. The group met in a private room that seated all 13 attendees easily with room for a few more. I had the vegetable plate with four selections for $ 6.99. I selected sweet potato casserole, green beans, greens, and cole slaw. All were served in small bowls resting on a plate. Homer’s supplies only a knife and fork as tableware, so much of tasty, nutritious juices were unable to be eaten. My wife selected a club sandwich and was happy with her selection. A fellow radio operator next to me had the catfish and rated it «OK». Everyone in our party seemed satisfied and I heard no complaints on the food. Homer’s West is all about Southern comfort food and not fine dining. The service was superior and we left a bit extra for our server. The entire front staff we met we engaged and courteous. We somehow managed to leave our hat under our chair and upon our return found it setting on the bar. Protocols are in place and staff trained. Nice to find! So, yes, we’re now a fan of Homer’s West. I even uploaded some extra photos of the exterior to help you find them. I look forward to trying the outside patio this Spring.

We have eaten here several times, with good food and good service. The last two times we have been here, we walked out without being served. The waitress was inattentive, did not bring menus even after us sitting for ten minutes, and seemed overwhelmed. There were not many people there on this past Saturday afternoon. The other poor service was also on a Saturday afternoon… déjà vu all over again. I don’t know how they stay in business. We are now ex-patrons.

Ahhhhhh… Homer’s West. It was so long ago, and had I not been meeting a friend I may not have driven so far for your food. Homer’s West is your average restaurant in Little Rock. It has a nice décor and a nice feel, but that is it. It’s average. I would eat here again, but I wouldn’t say I would seek it out as it’s a drive from me. (I’m a big fan of a variety of foods, but the fact remains that Southern, Home Cooking, and American cuisine can be attained from locations closer to my end of town. So, that’s what will happen.) The bar was legit, and they had some local brews on tap which is always a bonus. Anywho, don’t let this review deter you too much from going. The food was good, the service was better, and it’s worth another try from this guy. As I said before though it was average, but if I’m on that end of town I’ll give it another whirl.

This is a good place for good olé’ down home comfort food. The specials changes daily so some night are better than others depending on your preference. The food is good, the service is average. Its definitely a place you want to try a couple times.

The food was great and I loved the bar area. I read the other reviews and I am not sure what they are talking about. I guess they don’t know home cooking when they taste it. I will definitely make Homer’s a regular spot. The grilled tilapia is excellent.

I have eaten at the original location of Roosevelt many years ago and remember it to be pretty good. So, had hopes that their new location would deliver the same results. But, unfortunately they did not. Service was good and we got our food very quickly. Food quality is the issue with everything appearing to be just straight out of a can and bags of frozen items. Nothing you couldn’t get at a half dozen other places that don’t stand out. Only saving grace asides the service was the fried pickles. Possibly the best we have ever eaten. Perfectly seasoned and crispy. I would go back just because of the pickles. Everything thing else we had, ehh.

Homer’s West is a welcome addition to the WLR area(replaced the McAllister’s that used to sit here off Rodney Parham). The food is decent enough and plentiful, the waitresses are sassy(but not rude), and the prices are reasonable. This Homer’s even has a bar area for a tasty beverage after work. This one is also loud, but not nearly as loud as the one near the airport. Most lunch entrees are about 7 — 8 bucks. Go, see, eat!
