I was really surprised by this place. I found out about this place from and decided to try it out. The food was great, but a little pricey considering it is located in an office building. The waitress was great and atmosphere was different, but good. My only complaint is that they added the tip into my meal, which I found odd considering it was just my wife and I.

I was pleasantly surprised! Strangely located in an office building, we only found it because of an Arkansas Daily deal offer. They have improved quality over reviews from 2010. Fresh grated Parmesan on the Cesar salad… Toasted pine nuts were a nice addition. The fried cheese was not typical chain restaurant fare, it was bite size squares of battered(not breaded) mozerella. Both of our entrees were very good. The chef accommodated my husbands request for some added spice on his Alfredo with chicken. My cheese tortellini with sausage was wonderful. We both had leftovers to take home. The patio looked inviting, but it was 100, so we opted for inside.

Salut has a good vibe about it. Actually, it was a complete surprise, as I had no idea what was hidden in the back of the office building it occupies. Not only does Salut Bistro have a cool, modern atmosphere; it also has a nice patio overlooked by huge trees(And there’s something to love about old, beautiful trees.) I came here for dinner a few weeks back. Seems that they are advertising everywhere now — , Arkansas Daily Deal, etc. Between the table, we tried a Chicken Caesar Salad, Homemade Chicken Parmigiana, and Spaghetti Alla Carbonara. The salad was good — a typical Caesar salad indeed. The Chicken Parmesan was okay, but the sauce was much too sweet in my opinion. However… the Carbonara was amazing! It had just the right amount of meats, cheeses, pasta, and seasoning… very rich, yet very delicious. They do bring a basic french bread to the table(free of charge, might I add.) However, it’s unique in that it is served with some type of red pepper spread. I liked it. However, another in my party preferred traditional butter with her bread(which they kindly brought out.) Our waitress was kind of spunky — I liked her. She was working her butt off, so service was a little slow. However, it had more to do with the lack of waitstaff versus the waitress herself. And, they have a huge selection of drinks. Looking forward to trying them again for lunch and dinner.

Incredibly delicious food. I was very surprised. The chef’s forte is in making sauces. My friend and I had several appetizers. My favorites were the mussels(you can dunk bread into the sauce,) salmon salad(a very large piece of fish,) stuffed mushrooms, and vegetable medley, a wonderful mix of perfectly cooked and seasoned veggies. I can’t wait to go back. The prices are reasonable. 9÷15÷12 One year later… the food is better than ever. Tonight the waitress refused to let us pay, saying the service was too slow(It wasn’t.) Not only that, they gave us back our coupon for use at another time. I was amazed at the pride they take in making customers happy. Did I mention that the food is fabulous, and the patio is heavenly. You will not be disappointed in Salut.

A nice little secluded spot in the middle of town hidden in the 1st floor of the Prospect Building. Salut has a varied menu both in selection and price. Food was excellent with good sized portions and the staff was friendly.

This place is definitely worth a try. I think we just came on an off night, service wise. They seemed a little under staffed. We waited a while for pretty much everything, they were out of several liquors and when they brought us bread and some dipping sauces they just sat them down without telling us what they were. And when we asked, they didn;t really even know what they were. Anyways. I had a glass of the Moscoto and my fiancé had a Crown & Coke, which he said was average. He had ordered a Jack & Coke, but they were out of Jack. The Moscoto was delicious and we were going to get a bottle after I had my glass, but they were out of that as well, so I had a glass of the Riesling. It was delicious and super sweet. It was annoying though that our glasses were empty for at least 5 – 10 minutes. When no one paid us any attention, I moved them to the very corner of the table hoping someone would notice. We ordered the stuffed mushrooms for an appetizer, and those were delicious. The sauce they were served in was fantastic. I ordered the chicken masala and he had the chicken cannelloni. Both were very good. The food was great, but the atmosphere left a lot to be desired. The inside is VERY small, and it seems a little cluttered and junky. I’ll definitely return, but maybe on a week night, to see if the service is better.

The service is fantastic here. The patio is beautiful. The food is hit or miss though. My boyfriend had the filet mignon for $ 21 and though he ordered it medium, it came out almost rare. Even so, he loved it and said it was so tender, it melted in his mouth. I tasted some of the bordelaise sauce that came with it and it was way too salty and greasy. The green beans with bacon that accompanied the steak were fresh, tender and crisp. I had the penne pasta with cream sauce and chicken. For $ 11, it was way overpriced for what I got. The chicken breast was sliced thin and was dryed out. There was very little sauce, though what I tasted was pretty good. It had sun dried tomatoes that were cut into long thick strips and seemed out of place. It would have been better had the strips been thinner and then maybe it wouldn’t have overpowered the dish. Overall the pasta was just okay. The parmesan cheese was not freshly grated. It was dry and yellowed. That’s okay, if the dish were priced around $ 5 or $ 6 but not at $ 11. The dinners came with choice of soup or salad. The soup that day was cream of potato but we both got salads. They were fresh and crisp and came with housemade croutons, red onions, diced tomatoes and two cucumber slices. My blue cheese dressing was thick and delicious. We had ordered the mozzarella sticks for an appetizer and they were your basic frozen sticks deep fried and were just slightly underdone. I like them piping hot with the cheese melting in long strings but these were thrown in the fryer, browned a little on the outside and immediately served. They just weren’t hot enough. The marinara sauce was thin but ok. The wine selection was nice and the service was impeccable and friendly. It was a pleasant experience overall. If drink prices were a little cheaper, our house Chardonnay was $ 6 a pop, we might be encouraged to come for a drink after work or something. Most wines were in the $ 8 a glass range, from what I could tell from the chalkboard on the wall.

Give this place a try. It is in the bottom floor of the Prospect Place Building off of University. In my two trips here, I have found the service to be fantastic. The menu is varied including burgers, pastas, salads, and steaks. Price is very reasonable and has great outdoor seating if the weather is cooperative.
