I’ve been coming to this Sonic since I was a kid. Nothing here has changed. With that being said, what Sonic does, it gets right and does way better than any Sonic up North. However, service at this location and every other Sonic is so slooooooow. The irony is that Sonic indicates speed and that is the exact opposite of what is happening here. Their food is typical of any fast food. Drink specials and happy hour specials are great.

Staff always super friendly and attentive. From the time they respond to your speaker box and deliver you«fast food» they are 100% cheerful here. To me, all the car hops seem to be really enjoying there job and that is always deserving of a $ 1 tip, even during the most busiest of Happy Hour times when you may be required to wait for a spot to even order. Hats off to this sonic and all its employees

I love Sonic. No, really. When I have to take a late lunch, I wait until 2pm, when they start their happy hour. I love getting«my drink»(Route 44 cherry Diet Coke, easy ice) for $ 1.09. Here’s the thing, though… Where is my cherry? They always seem to forget it, though they never EVER forget to charge me for it. What gives, Sonic? I asked for regular cherry instead of diet cherry at the one on Broadway once. The dude added 20 cents to my drink? Huh? And there was still no cherry. RAGE, Sonic. I seriously come for happy hour almost every day. Throw me a cherry flavored bone?

Okay, some of may have read my review on the Sonic in NLR. Well that review also got me thinking. I was determined to find as many Sonics in Central Arkansas as I could that met the quality I remembered, that being fast and friendly service with a quality product. I decided to visit as many Sonics as I could in a two day time period during rush hour and see if any of them could meet the standards that I grew to love from Sonic. The first one that did was the one where I was going to start this review. I left my home town on Saturday at 11 am and arrived in Maumelle at 12:15. I drove into the 1st Sonic in Maumelle. It is tucked away off of Maumelle Blvd. The burger was warm and seemed like it had been sitting there for sometime. The lettuce was limp and the tomato was warm. Not a good sign. The fries were cold and greasy. For dinner, I went to the new Sonic on Maumelle Blvd just as you are leaving Maumelle. Across from the new Walmart. I pulled into Sonic at 5 pm and it was semi crowded. The burger was the same as what I had for lunch. It was not what I was expecting and so I left once again not finding a memory form the past. Sunday Morning. I had to be in DTLR by 1130 on Sunday and I was running late and I remembered a Sonic on Broadway just off the freeway. I pulled in at 11:00 am and it was packed. I ordered and waited, and waited. I thought helll bad food and service. Well, the burger arrived and I was greeted by a lovely woman who asked how my day was going etc. I paid her and opened the bag. To much joy, I felt heat coming from the bag. I opened the bad and went for the fries. They were HOT and CRISPY. WOW I was shocked. The fries are usually an indicator as to the rest of the meal. I opened the wrapper and found a steaming hot burger that was perfect. Warm bun, hot meat, cool veggies. PERFECTION. I even noticed the slight salty taste that I missed so much. KUDOS to you Sonic on Broadway in LR. Well done. I pondered the notion of 1 out of 3 being not good results. I was excited to know that the Q&A were still there. It was just finding them. After my meeting in LR, I headed back home so I took 67⁄167 down to Cabot. I noticed that they recently built a new Sonic just off the freeway on Hwy 321 so I pulled in. It was about 5:30 pm. It was packed. I ordered and waited and waited. Then it came. A friendly server name Claire gave me my order. I opened it and went for the fries. Once again it was pure joy. The burger was the same as I had for lunch. An awesome burger with awesome service. Just what I remembered as a kid. No skates though but who cares as long as the burger is awesome she could walk backwards to my car if she wanted. If waiting means freshness, then I’ll wait. Over the years I never noticed the difference in the time served just the quality. I now know. 2 out of 4 is getting better. I promise you this. I will keep you posted. So far, Broadway Sonic and the new one just off the 1st Cabot exit coming from LR on hwy 321 are two of the best Sonics I have eaten at in a long time.
