I had been using this tailor and previously was quite satisfied. that is, until management changed last year. Last summer, I took in two twin XL bedsheets and requested that they be joined, explaining that the purpose was to make one king size bed sheet.(We have a split King.). They seemed to have no trouble understanding my request and asked no questions. First, they charged me $ 21 to run one simple seam up two lengths of fabric… that in itself is ridiculous. Then, when we put it on our bed we realized that they didn’t trim the sheets to make a king size-all they did was simply sew them together! The sides puddled on the floor on both sides; there was no way we could just tuck them in. I returned today with a request to redo the sheet and explained everything. The manager told me that of course all they did was just join the sheets together because I didn’t give them the dimensions of my king sheets. What??? He said that my bed might be different. I told him that sheets come in standard measurements and if they didn’t know, they could look it up! I don’t know why he couldn’t have called and asked for the dimensions if they were unsure. I’m supposed to know that they don’t know what size to make the sheets? He made it clear that he was not going to redo it but instead would treat it as a new order. I’m not going to spend another $ 20 just to run a seam. Now I’m without a top sheet AND a tailor(I’ve spent quite a few dollars there getting clothes tailored.)!! And Sydney’s has lost a good customer.
