The Bookworm

An independent used book store, I thought they were all gone, but here it is. When we walked into the neat and well maintained store, the clerk was helpful but left us alone when we wished to just browse. We bought two books and most assuredly will return.

Great bookstore located next to Grady’s Pizza & Subs on West 12^th Street in Little Rock. Its convenient to the Clarion and St Vincent Guest House on nearby University Avenue and just minutes from many new west Little Rock hotels. Take the Rodney Parham exit on I-​630 and turn south (left) towards 12^th Street. The bookstore will be an easy right turn.
The first time I walked in I was amazed. Not only does the owner have a large selection of paperbacks, but he also stocks a large number of non-​fiction hardbacks as well. This is one of the few book stores that carries good used Civil War books, which you’ll find in the small room on your immediate right as you enter.
One of the surprises this bookstore offers is collectible books. Just behind the counter we spied some vintage Doc Savage and Avenger paperbacks, hard to find these days without resorting to tedious Internet searches.
My wife is fond of the generous selection of science fiction paperbacks and has found many of the «missing books» from her favorite authors. She usually brings out a small bag of treasure each trip inside. Good thing the owner also trades books!
