A Plus Mechanical, Inc

I called A Plus Mechanical to get a second opinion about my furnace. I have a 25-​year-​old Lennox furnace that I only recently discovered was 25-​years-​old, and have therefore been considering replacing it with a high efficiency modern model. Here’s the catch, I was planning to do that eventually. Like, you know, maybe over the summer when prices come down a little, before next winter maybe. Do some shopping around, comparing models, save some money… then replace it. So this past week when my furnace starting working funny and sometimes not at all, I panicked and decided to get some folks out to diagnose. Of course this would happen in the middle of winter, when all the HVAC companies are pushing furnace sales as much as possible (and when the threat of a cold house and frozen pipes is looming, so it’s easy to go for it!).
I had someone come out from Controlling Systems a few days ago, and he told me what I had expected to hear: that my furnace is old, and I should replace it. I know! But was there another option? Yes, but he said it’d cost nearly $ 1,000, and it’d only be a bit more than $ 2,500 to just get the whole thing replaced. I nearly resigned to it, since I was planning on having it replaced anyway. But I decided to get another opinion, just because… duh, that’s what you do.
A friend recommended A Plus Mechanical to me, so I called them and Gary came out on my next day off (today). He was very pleasant and easy to work with, and he went straight to work diagnosing the issue. He quickly came up for air and said it looked fixable (hallelujah), and before I knew it he had actually fixed the furnace. He tweaked the pilot light and cleaned the sensors. Now my furnace runs better than it has since I bought my house 3 ½ years ago! And I spent under $ 150 and only an hour or so of my day having it repaired. Now I have more time to figure out my options for a new furnace, not to mention some time to save up the $$$ for it. Thanks Gary, and thank goodness for getting second opinions!

I highly recommend A-​Plus Mechanical… After attempting just about every possible do-​it-​yourself fix on our condos malfunctioning A/​C I decided it was time to call in the pros. Several of the neighbors I had talked to recommended this small company so I decided to give them a shot. The mechanic they sent, Will V., was honestly one of the nicest and most accommodating guys that I have ever delt with. He diagnosed my problem in a matter of minutes, while walking me through the entire process (no sketchiness what so ever). Then spent a good part of his day driving around town in search of the correct part for my unit (a unit which has been discontinued for 10 years now). He even gave me his cell phone number, and even more surprisingly answered my call at 8:00pm while at home with his family… Anyways, not only was my problem fixed in a very timely manor by a mechanic that I cant say enough good things about. It was also done at a fair price (believe me, I looked into parts prices etc)… As seldom as its needed (fingers crossed) I am happy to say that I now have a heating and A/​C place that I can trust. Which really means a lot to me. Thanks A Plus Mechanical!
