First visit at Arrow. Stopped in for a bottle of mezcal; couldn’t find it and asked the store employee, who responded, «Red or white?» Huh? Tried to explain that mezcal doesn’t come in «red or white,» to which he responded, «Oh, you mean the liqueur?» Um. No. Asked him if he knew what mezcal was… you know, beverage made from the maguey plant –a form of agave.” He said, «Oh, yeah, we’re out of agave nectar.» Alrighty then.

These guys have a truly spectacular wine selection from all over the world. The prices are among the most reasonable I’ve seen in this area, and they often run an ad in the weekend paper for 15% off or so. I haven’t shopped for liquor or beer here, so I’ll focus on the wine. They have a very wide selection, from bargain-basement(Beringer White Zinfandel fans will find what they need, eurgh) to top-notch(they have some lovely Barolo, Bordeaux, Burgundy, etc, many of them well aged) and everything in between. As a wine snob, I don’t mind saying that they have the highest-quality selection of boxed wines I’ve seen(they carry just about every Octavin brand, for example) at excellent prices.(Hey, boxed wine is a great option when you’re sharing with philistines.) All in all, their selections are thoughtful and reasonably priced. This is my favorite wine store in Littleton, hands down.

Way way the best prices in this area. Normally I buy really cheap scotch that costs $ 15 here, $ 19 most other places. But they also have the really nice wine I like to buy for my husband on special occasions, and at reasonable prices. Never much of a wait in line, parking is good, nothing bad to say about this place. EDIT, SEPT82013: Prices have skyrocketed over recent months and one of the staff there was unspeakably rude to me, so I rarely go there anymore. Also, the shelves are about 70% empty, looks like they’re fixing to go out of business. I asked the cashier was going on and he sort of ruefully said he doesn’t know and that management won’t share what’s going on with the staff. Ick. Head about a half-mile east to Pierce, then go about 2 mi south to Columbine Liquor. Way better prices and way nicer staff. EDIT, SPRING2014: So apparently the store had been in disarray for unknown reasons that led to its sale late 2013. The new owners are friendly, the stocks are shelved, the prices remain good, so all is well. Upgrade to 4 stars.

In a state of huge liquor stores it is hard to find one to set it apart from the normal places. Arrow Liquormart has a huge selection of lots of good wines, liquor, beer, and whatever else your liver dosn’t need. Prices are great and I am constantly surprised by some of the microbrews they carry here.
