The Douglas H. Buck Community Recreation Center has about everything you could want, in a great setting too.(Or more commonly know as the Buck Recreation Center) We live in downtown Denver, and wanted to work out on treadmills today, but alas, on Sunday afternoon, our local recreation centers were closing in 1 hour. We wanted to visit family down in Littleton, so we headed south, to the Buck Center first. My husband had never been in it, so I showed him around first. I grew up in Littleton, so I knew about, and had previously been in the rec center. The center has a large indoor basketball court/gym(rather 2 courts, maybe 3), an indoor track that circles around the perimeter of the basketball courts, but up above on the second floor. There is a cardio room, with plenty of modern up-to-date equipment such as treadmills, cross trek machines, and many others. There are free weights as well. There are 5 – 6 televisions that are up on the wall. All you have to do is plug in your earphones to the little speaker on each of the machines, and watch/listen to whatever is up on one of them. The indoor pool area is HUGE! There is a lap pool, a therapeutic pool, and a lazy river type pool, which I have been in, and it’s a kick! There is a nice seating/waiting area when you first walk into the center, with a large screen television. There are individual classrooms, where you can take various classes. Parking — lots and lots of parking, in a private lot. Passes — you can purchase punch cards, or walk in a pay, which is what we did today. All in all, it’s a very nice place to work out or take a class, in Littleton.
