Unfortunately, I feel the need to comment on a haircut that I got last week at this Ulta Beauty location. I thought by going to this well known, more expensive salon that I would get a better haircut. I was wrong! After making sure that I had pictures and having a discussion with my stylist Chandra, I still left with a really bad cut, which will take at least 8 months to grow out. I wish I could start over. I even commented to Chandra when she took the first cut, that I felt that she was cutting me too short. She didn’t stop! The damage was done! I left, hoping for the best. But after I got home, I wanted to just cry. I called back the next day and found out that my stylist had only been working for them for a year. I went back to talk the salon manager, who tried to placate me. She said I almost looked like the picture that I had brought in,(minus six inches length gone in the front and four inches in the back). I now have only an 1 ½ in the back. I’m terribly disappointed. Ulta did refund the cost for the haircut but, that doesn’t repair my hair! They did not listen. I would not recommend going there.

I am always hesitant to go to beauty stores like Sephora and Ulta. The customer service usually entails some arrogant employees who treat you like crap. This location is wonderful! Clean, very friendly, helpful staff! I will be happy to spend my hard earned money at this location as they truly care that the customer has a good experience.

I had always thought of Ulta as Sephora’s poor cousin. The locations I went into seemd focused on drugstore cosmetics, not that I have an issue with that, there are many products I purchase that are drugstore brands. My issue with Ulta was the locations I had been to always seemed under-stocked, dirty and sales associates that were less than helpful. That all changed when I went to the Ulta in Aspen Grove out of necessity. One morning I realized I was out of Philosophy’s Purity, the only facial worth a damn in my book. I really didn’t want to venture out to Sephora at Cherry Creek or Park Meadows and decided to see who else carried it. To my surprise, the website said Ulta did. I hopped in the car and headed over to Aspen Grove. I discovered this store to be larger, fully stocked of both drugstore and counter cosmetics and a friendly staff ready and eager to help. I also discovered that Ulta carries a lot of the same brands as Sephora; at the same prices. Added plus: parking at Aspen Grove is plentiful. Even when there are a lot of moviegoers at the Alamo Drafthouse. There are still a few things that I can only get at Sephora, like my NARS products. However, when I’m not feeling like dealing with mall traffic, and it’s an item I can purchase at Ulta, this location will be my first choice.
