Took my roommate here to celebrate her successful first year of college. The service is excellent, but be advised, that even with a reservation, we had to wait to be seated, so settled into the bar, nice ambiance and friendly people. Excellent service, spot on menu and well prepared. First comes fresh sourdough with a olive oil, basalmic and herb dipping sauce,(apparently comes with with the meal), Outstanding! The salad was well prepared, and timely. I ordered fried calamari from the starters menu. The batter was a a little too doughy for my taste, but the rings and tentacles were very tender, and the sauce,(a lemon burre blanc), was delicious. I’ll order them well done next time. Calamari really tests a kitchen, cook a little too long and it gets tough,(one minute or one hour is the rule). My roommate ordered the calamari steak, also with lemon burre blanc sauce. It was more lightly breaded and was perfectly tender and delicious. The dining room is rather loud, but tolerable. The bar area less loud, surprisingly, and they have a few booths, so I recommend that area for hearing aid users. All in all, a very nice dining experience!

Steak John was so tender, you could almost cut it with a fork. The Worcestershire sauce was to die for… I want to bathe in it! Boyfriend ordered the Genova Deli cheese ravioli and it was just amazing… The ragu meat sauce melts in your mouth, leaving behind nothing beyond a fantastic flavor.

The steak John appetizer was delicious. To my disappointment the filet mignon was inconsistent. One side of the filet was practically burnt, while the other wasn’t hardly cooked at all, however that happens… Next the dessert was the Ice cream cookie, and it was okay. Wine menu was good, yet the service was crappy. Also, it can get very loud to the point where one can hardly hear the person next to them. I was recommended to eat here by a friend, but I personally wouldn’t recommend anyone to this place. Nothing special.

I have wanted to stop here for years going back n forth between Chico & Sac. Tonight I finally talked my BF into stopping. Service 5 stars! From the nice blond bartender & hostesses to the waitress. We split the brick chicken which was great, but we had to split it ourselves. We split a lot as my BF has a small appetite & we had a late & large lunch in Monterey earlier in the day. Mentioned it to the waitress & she said they can only split pasta ahead of time. The garden salad is lettuce & red onions & house creamy italian.PERIOD. No croutons, no tomato, no cucumber. One server/busboy constantly roamed the room which got actually uncomfortable. But the dining room was filling fast so I’m sure as the night goes on he is prob busier. Our waitress was very sweet and attentive. Small items maybe but it undermines the overall experience. Dinner was $ 33. 1 glass of wine, one beer and 1 entrée.

I love this place. The food is not always consistent, but is always good. The staff, the bar patrons, the owner are there to provide and have a good. In that they do succeed. Well priced, well served and well cooked. Thanks

My boyfriend and I have driven by this restaurant many times going back and forth from Chico to Sacramento. We finally made it a point to stop and try this cute little place in the middle of nowhere. It was a Tuesday at 6:30pm, so not very busy. Our service was great. Nothing wrong there. All smiles. The wine and refills on water 100%. We had to ask for bread which is fine. It was very good with the balsamic and oil. My boyfriends Caesar salad was very yummy. My garden salad had WAY too much dressing on it making most of it inedible. I’ll request it on the side next time. I always forget to do that. The main meals were okay. Not worth the inflated prices we paid and certainly not the portions we expected, but in the long run we were glad because we filled up on bread, salad and wine. I ordered bucatini with peas. It lacked flavor which was odd because it had a lot of prosciutto which is usually pretty salty. It was still good with a little pepper. My boyfriend had the chicken piccata which was not what we expected. It was bland aside from the capers which was the only flavor we could taste. It was slimy and came with a small side of really undercooked broccoli(two pieces) which is saying a lot because I like my veggies on the crispier side. They were almost raw though. All in all, we would try it again. It wasn’t bad. Just not what we expected. The steak John sounds amazing for next time.

Steak John appetizer — Two bite bites of perfectly seasoned and cooked steak. Add wine. Is there anything else necessary for dinner? I know these lovely bites come with Worcester cream sauce on the side, but I don’t need it. The steak bites are truly perfect with a glass of red. Monday night pasta is great. The place has the feel of a local joint. Apple tart a la mode for dessert. MMmmmm, warm apple tart and it-can’t-be-commercial ice cream. Wonderful! It’s a ways from Sac, but a wonderful little place that’s been around since the 1920’s!

A really nice little place in Live Oak. We went here on a whim — no reservation needed, even on a Friday. They seated us quickly and the staff was very friendly. After we arrived, the place filled up quick, so maybe our quick seating was pure luck. At any rate, the food was decent, the drinks were nice, the pricing was fair and the atmosphere is lovely. They were patient and courteous with us(and our slightly grumpy toddler). The only downside to the experience is the wait time between ordering to the arrival of the meal is pretty significant. I don’t know if this is standard here, or if our server was merely a little overwhelmed and flustered, but when it finally arrived, it was worth the wait.

Never again, I told myself the last time I went to Pasquinis but I knew my wife liked their lamb chops so I thought we’d give them another try on her birthday. We were there on 2÷5÷16, their special was California halibut, $ 26, came to the table fried crispy and about a ¼ inch thick, looked like it came out of a frozen food section at safeway. I asked the waitress if it was frozen or fresh and she said fresh, later she asked how the food was and I told her it was not very good, she said she asked the chef about it and he said the owner told him it was the first of the season halibut and was very expensive and that’s why the portions were like that, she even said I should have recommended you have something else. There wasn’t any offer to make the dish right or to cut the price on the bill. My wife’s lamb was very good, which I was happy about as it was her birthday dinner. NEVER again Pasquinis, the food has really fallen off these last couple of years.

I absolutely love their Ragu Spagetti but they are horribly mismanaged. After calling in a to-go order at 4:30 I was told it would be ready in 10 – 15 minutes. Great. I arrived at 4:40 to a mostly empty restaurant(3 tables occupied), paid for my meal and waited. And waited. After approximately 20 minutes I was told they were just waiting on the garlic bread. I waited. Waited some more and several other to-go customers began getting frustrated as well. Finally, at 5:25 I received my order. I asked to speak to a manager and waited another few minutes before he was called over. He listened to my complaint about the unacceptable delay and simply said«I’m aware of the problem». No apology, no offer to make amends to keep a long time customer(since the mid ’80’s). It’s unfortunate that such a good restaurant treats it customers so badly. Perhaps the manager was upset that his meal(he was seated at a table) may have been delayed by the 30 seconds he spent listening to me.

Horrible service. I went there with my buddy and his gf. They totally treated us like crap. I even called the manager and she was still not helpful. Almost feel like we were profiled

One of the best steaks I’ve ever had. Also had a taste of the lamb chops excellent. Only con I could find is that they didn’t have a1 steak sauce. To me I like a 1 steak sauce with my steak and it would be a big reason why I would not return. I’ve been to many steakhouses and high-end places. I remember a story once were my bill was over $ 150 for a steak and I asked the waiter do you have a1 steak sauce he goes of course I do and my friends laughed they said why would you put a1 steak sauce on $ 100 steak. The simple answer I gave to them is because I enjoy it.

I had a very nice experience here. At first we walked up to the hostess stand, where 3 people were standing, looking down, working on things, one girl just reading her book. About 30 seconds pass before someone notices we are standing 2 feet in front of them, and say, «hi.» I said table for 2 please. The blonde asked me if we had a reservation, when I replied, «no. oh, do we need one?» She replies«sometimes.» I’m sorry, what kind of freaking response is that. Ok little girl, do I need one tonight? Is hat more clear for u? Anyway… After. A weird pause, she lets us know it will be 15 – 20 min for a table. We go to the bar where we are rescued by Angie, an awesome bartender/smoother over. She prepared us some great drinks, including my fresh peach sangria, yum. She was so courteous, knowledgeable about the menu, and above all, friendly. She welcomed us to her space, where we didn’t feel it from the hostess stand. We decided to stay with Angie due to her awesomeness. Also, the owner was walking around behind the bar, talking to a fellow guest about the restaurants past. I found this to be very interesting. Only thing was, I felt like he had acknowledged most other guests without their prompt, besides us. We had to talk to him first, which was weird since he was asking most others how their experience was. Maybe he forgot us, but I do appreciate that in an owner. I must say, my food was good, but a little over salted. I might be bloated tomorrow, but it was worth it. Thank you Angie for turning our experience around. We will be back for you!

As a local, I go to Pasquinis fairly regularly(monthly at the least). The food is always on point and delicious. My husband and I love the lasagna, it’s the best we’ve ever had. And if your meal doesn’t meet your standards or is not cooked right they are happy to fix it. The service can be 3 stars at times but overall it’s the perfect place for a date night. If you have a large group I would recommend reservations.

I haven’t been here in a few years and things have not improved at all! I had my usual(spaghetti with spicy Italian sausage meat sauce) for their Monday night special: Spaghetti Night. The green salad was bitter as if the greens weren’t rinsed very well. The dressing was lackluster. The bitterness overwhelmed the dressing. The spaghetti was over cooked and dry. Dipping the noodles in hot water and draining before plating it would have made it more appealing in the mouth. They also broke the noodles in half before cooking it. That is a big no-no in the culinary world. The Spicy Italian meat sauce had a burnt taste and there were black flakes indicative of burnt sauce. I figured they’d improve over the years. I can’t believe the reason the wife & I stopped dining here are because of the very same reasons above with exception of breaking the noodles in half.

Made my food wrong not once but twice and that was just the appetizer, ordered meat ravioli with meat sauce and the meat on the inside was so dry I wouldn’t serve it to my dog. After complaining and asking to speak to either a chef, manager or owner I finally get a call after 10 days and all the owner had to say was«well go somewhere else then» not a good way to run a business and I would never recommend this place to any friends, family or clients. I would rather drive to a REAL Italian place like Biba in Sacramento and that’s an hour drive. But quality makes a difference and this place definitely doesn’t have it.

I must say without a doubt, this is our finest restaurant in Yuba City, Marysville and Live Oak. The prices are very fair, the service is excellent and the food? Not just good or great but always exciting! Real chefs for every meal and the greatest food. I always look forward to going again. 530−695−3384.

We loved it. We changed our reservation at least 3 times, with no hassle from the hostess. Then we showed up early and were seated right away. The staff was attentive and polite. The food was outstanding. This will be the family«go to» for special occasions from now on. Thank you for making a birthday dinner memorable.
