Ana The Nanny

Words are not enough to describe the amazing person that Ana is. I had actually interviewed and had trials with 8 potential nannies for our first born, then 3 months old. Within 5 minutes of watching Ana with my son, I knew that she was the one. When I describe her to our friends, I call her the «baby whisperer», because she can read infants, babies, and even toddlers almost instantly. She knows what they need, why they aren’t feeling well, when they are tired, and how to soothe and calm them.
Our story is very similar to Lily’s. We were first time parents. My son was very colicky, fussy, and difficult to soothe. I had trouble getting him on a schedule. Within days after Ana started with us, my son was sleeping better, less fussy, and a happier baby. Despite her many years of caring for babies and toddlers, she was always eager to follow our instructions (as parents). In the same way though she is an invaluable resource for understanding babies, loving them, and ensuring their safety and growth. I can’t tell you how many times I would text her in the middle of the night for advice on fevers, vomit, «ouchies», and everything in between. We loved having Ana a part of family so much that we quickly had a 2^nd son, which she help raise. More than just a nanny, Ana was the glue that held our family together. When the kids napped she helped with cleaning and chores. When the boys were older, she would bring stimulating activities and crafts for them to do. Everyday was a joy having Ana come and care for our family and we are so grateful for her years of service with us!

Ana was our first born’s nanny for the first year of her life. Ana literally «came to the rescue» when she started watching our daughter as our little one was colicky and fussy and as new parents, we did not know what to do with her. Ana calmed her down almost immediately and from then on, she did a fantastic job taking care of our baby girl. She showed us with her many years of experience how to best calm, nurture, and raise our little one and was along our side, not taking over as a caregiver. She also was like a second mom to my husband and me! She made awesome food and would not mind lending a listening ear whenever needed! To me, she is like the real life Mary Poppins and she will always have a special place in our family!
