This is a scam. Don’t fall for them. They keep coming to your house to sell their bs and make you sign a contract. Avoid

So had a door to door exterminator with this id come by yesterday, he came by 3 times saying that our neighbors were talking about having ants and spider issues. Well our house was a recent purchase and had been completely exterminated recently, we had had no issues or problems. However strangely enough we find today that our front room is strangely overrun with ants and it just so happens to be ever so close to the front door (which he came by and knocked on 3 different times) where our fire place empties its soot. Now I do believe in the occasional coincidence, but this strikes me a little too perfect.

Service was okay, but seems Terminix bought em out in December, so probably doesn’t matter either way. The door-​to-​door sales approach was weak, though.

ZERO STARS FOR ECO FIRST aka Terminix! They were bought out recently and did not even bother to notify their customers. Customer service was good in the beginning (there was an older gentlemen who was friendly, great with following up and taking care of our ant problem) but service went downhill from there. The only reason I put up with them is because the products are supposedly organic & eco-​friendly. I have already called to cancel but was only able to reach their answering machine. Surprise, surprise…

After switching pest control companies with no interruption in service I was over run with ants after the Ecofirst people came out. I had rats running around my backyard and it took days for them to come out. I am a busy mom with 3 small children — I don’t have time to make appointment after appointment so I switched to Terminex after about 3 months of things not working out. I sent in my monthly payment to Ecofirst and was hit with a $ 170 termination bill. I called the manager and tried to plead my case to no avail. I wonder if I wait long enough to pay if they will still be in business. When I called Terminex in between my service dates bacause I had ants during the rain they came out within 2 hours on a Saturday and took care of the problem.

Before this company changed hands they were wonderful. Now they are a scam and not interested in making things right w/​customers. (I also have a friend that used them) The last treatment was done in a few minutes… never touched front yard, no eaves, not the fence or shed area. The guy never even had me sign (as I normally would) G O N E Do Not waste your time or $$
5 calls to this company and never heard back!!!

I had the unfortunate experience of doing business with EcoFirst. I had been a loyal Terminix customer for 2 years when a chubby, yet charming salesman came to my doorstep last July. He was in no way pressuring, just simply pointed out numerous reasons why EcoFirst was superior to Terminix. After a short discussion with my wife, we decided to go with EcoFirst, we would supposedly be receiving a better, more complete service as well as being eco friendly. I promptly cancelled with Terminix. Fast forward to today… Aphids are running rampid on our rose bushes, even after a re treat. Black widow spider webs have returned in great numbers, along with, you guessed it, black widows! Their eco friendly chemicals do absolutely nothing to kill or even control any type of insect. I must add that even the ear wigs snails and ants have returned. My next door neighbor signed up the same day, also a previous Terminx customer who was referred to by me! Same story next door, the bugs are back. I am cancelling with EcoFirst, effective immediately. And yes, they are charging me $ 169 to do so since I have signed a 12 month contract. The good news, I am once again a terminix customer, they will be coming out next week to clean up the mess that EcoFirst created. Here is my «goodbye letter» to EcoFirst. DO NOT CONSIDER EcoFirst FOR YOUR PEST CONTROL NEEDS!!! *I no longer wish to do business with EcoFirst Pest Control, please cancel my service effective immediately! I will submit payment to terminate my contract as soon as billing is received. I must add that it is completely sad to lure people in to signing up for a one year contract suggesting that your service is superior to other companies. In the 3 short months we have used your service, our pest problem has immediately returned. The chemicals you use may be «Eco friendly» but are completely useless. As a result, I will be forced to pay the initial treatment fee that was waived in order to get out of your contract. Really??? Pay for something that did not work? I have since researched your company and it’s practices on line and have found that there are many other people sharing the same opinion. I look forward to putting this experience in the past and will definitely spread the word about your business practices. I look forward to having Terminix resume service and clean up your mess.

Wow — how I wish I had checked these Unilocal reviews before we too became a victim of Eco First. Same story as below — friendly salesperson that mentioned all the neighbors. Horrible service with infestation of pest all over our backyard.
When I called to cancel their service they debited my bank account $ 130. Phone calls, faxes, letters mailed to explain have gone unanswered.
I have filed a claim with the BBB and I am sending them a small claims demand letter today.

I’ve had ecofirst to my home five times within the past two months. Each time they tell us that they used the wrong pesticide and one that is no longer used. They sent me a bill for over $ 100 and they have to come to my home every two weeks to continue treating a new home. Done with them!

Too bad there is not a way to put no stars. Don’t sign up with them!
Three months ago a young man came and sold a service plan to my husband and I, that has turned out to be a sham. He promised us things like «powder blasting» into the electrical outlets, attic service, de-​webbing the fence, in-​house spraying for spiders and ants, mice traps. ALL LIES! They don’t go in the attics AT ALL, they don’t «powder blast» electrical outlets unless you have ants swarming inside, they only de-​web the fence if you ask, and they don’t enter your house unless you have a need, and they don’t set rodent traps unless you have seen them.
Promised us extensive treatments, they are done with their treatments in 10mins. I wish we stayed with Terminix because at least I knew what I was dealing with. I hate being lied to, hate being trapped in a year contract.
Two field mice found their way into my garage, and was told that I had to wait two days for a tech, so it took me yelling and speaking to a Manager to get a tech out today with «Two $ 100 bait boxes» that are being compt. Can’t wait for next June!

ECOWORST is what they should be called…
«Chris» from EcoFirst showed up at my door and try to explained his company services, I was in rush at that time and on top of that I was looking for a pest control company to spray my house to take a care of pests.
I got the service but their service was not good at all. Technician barely spend 5 – 8 minutes to complete the spray. I got busy and could not call them to cancel the service.
After 4 months. Today, I got an email that your service has been scheduled for tomorrow. I decided to call them back to cancel the service but got couple of more surprises …
1– I was told that I am in a contract for one year. I was never told that I have to have a contract to get this price. «Chris» told me that You can cancel it any time without any obligation.
2– When I told customer service that no body told me that I am in a contract. She said, I am telling you that you are in a contract and you signed the papers. I said yes, I signed the papers but Chris never mentioned about the contract. She said, I don’t know about that but you are in contract and of course you can cancel the service anytime but you have to pay $ 130. ??? what is this???
I asked her that can I talk to your supervisor? Supervisor told me that you are in a contract. If you want to cancel the service? pay the penalty and thats it.
This is such a bad company I have ever seen, they don’t care about their customers but only interested in making money even then don’y tell the truth to the customer.
I would advise people DON’T GO WITH EcoFirst pest control.
Finally, I am going to cancel my contract and will pay $ 130 to get rid of them. What else I can do?

I signed up for this company because I liked the idea of using an Ecofriendly form of pest control. I recieved 6 months of service, without any change in the amount of pests found inside my home. Also, they never de-​webbed, as they promised to do. I called them back several times and the serviceman actually said, «You live on the Delta, the weather has been off. Everyone has bugs not just you.» Well is everyone paying for pest control? And if so, isn’t seeing fewer pests expected regardless of where I live and weather conditions? I found this extremely off putting, and called to cancel. They didn’t cancel. Instead I recieved an e-​mail saying my next service will be performed on a Monday. I tried to call Friday, no answer. They aren’t open weekends, so I left another message. I called first thing this morning, and they said they would have to charge me $ 100.00 to cancel. I stated that I had them come out many times, I wasn’t happy with the service, and stated the serviceman’s conduct as rude. Yet they insisted I pay $ 100.00 dollars to their company for last minute cancellation. I cannot believe they would charge a $ 100.00 when they didn’t satisfy the agreement. I wouldn’t refer any one to this company. I’ve never been so disappointed in a service, their customer service, and their handling of their customers. I feel like they basically robbed me.

EcoFirst has a solicitor going door-​to-​door in our neighborhood. He’s a young guy with a pleasant personality (no wonder he’s in sales). Unfortunately, he’s working for a miserable company that deserves Zero Stars.
First, I think most people have learned by now that a BBB rating is meaningless these days because that organization has changed so drastically and become nothing more than a «buy a rating» sham. The days when a BBB rating meant anything are long, long gone.
About all you can get from BBB’s website is a list of complaints filed with them but «resolved» means little or nothing because they take the word of the company that the complaint has been «resolved.»
There have been 10 complaints against EcoFirst Pest Control just within the last 5 months.
Second, «EcoFirst» is just another name for a company that has changed its name several times as their bad reputation became known. They used to call themselves «EcoSure» and «Moxie.» «EcoFirst» is the same company run by the same people. New company name, same old scammers.
Third, I researched them thoroughly because our neighborhood seems to be a magnet for scammers. We have a lot of older people who were the original buyers of these high-​end homes when they were built 50 years ago. Scammers assume that «older» means «stupid» but more and more older people are internet savvy and can defend themselves with information about the crooks. As for me, I’m sort of a geek so internet research is nothing new to me. I suspect it’s saved me thousands of dollars over the last 20+ years that I’ve owned a computer.
Fourth, I listened closely while this EcoFirst salesman made his sales pitch. Some of the gimmicks he used are so old that everyone should be on to them by now:
1. He kept mentioning my neighbor’s names, implying that they had signed up for EcoFirst services. Note: they had not (I’ve confirmed that).
2. He supposedly had all these new accounts in my neighborhood scheduled for specific times for the service. He kept trying to get me to schedule a time and every time I said that a particular time wouldn’t work for me, those dates and times that were supposedly already scheduled suddenly seemed to change.
3. The price changed every time I said no. Suddenly, they were running a special introductory price. Yada, yada, yada.
**Summary of his purpose: to get your name/​initials on the contract. Many of the complaints against EcoFirst Pest Control are from people who tried to cancel their service when they realized what a scam it was. EcoFirst refused and continued to bill them, of course. It’s an old scam that still works and too many people let them get away with it because it’s a tremendous hassle to try to put a stop to it.
It was difficult to get him to shut up and go away. It’s true that a good salesperson won’t take the first «no» but this dude couldn’t seem to realize when he was wasting his time.
Summary: there must be some ethical pest control services out there somewhere but this is Not one of them.

They have not honored their service agreement. We had one month left and I had to take off work 5 times to meet their techs here. Three no shows and two that did not know why there were there… one guy I had to show the spider webs. I asked the last tech to leave before performing work. Manager is billing me for last service period even though I did not have the service. Threatened me and told me to pay with service or no service. I am frightened of him and have filed a complaint with BBB. They are now threatening to send me to collections for not paying. They have no signature on file and can’t prove they were even here. Do not use this company. Very unprofessional and the product does not work.

Well. I typically don’t write reviews but I felt the need to express my disappointment with this company, EcoFirst of Livermore. My story begins with a young gentleman knocked on my door offering me pest control service. He explained to me he worked for them and he’s available at his desk for questions. He said he had twin girls and was working hard to earn money. It turned out, he was just some college kid back from college just selling stuff. I was disappointed that they hire just some college kids to do their door to door selling and aren’t knowledgeable about the product nor the service. Of coarse, his job was to sell so he told me the world and blah blah blah. Long story short, I fell for it and bought the stupid service. I learned my lesson.
But enough about how I felt I was scammed by a salesperson. This review is about the service, which was horrible. I bought a quarterly service for $ 99/​quarter for a year. Every single time they came out I had to call them back to tell them they need to sweep my eves for cob webs. For $ 99 I expect my freaking cob webs to be swept! It’s honestly like pulling teeth to get their employees to spend quality time on something we’re paying for.
I’m not sure if most pest control is like this but my personal experience with EcoFirst of Livermore has been nothing but horrible. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this company.

ECOSURE or ECOFIRST deserves 0 stars. They are terrible.
We made the switch due to the price and the «eco» friendly products the sales guy advertised. I should have researched them before signing the contract. We had more spiders and bugs with their service. They use standard sprayers I could buy at home depot. The technicians are dressed in really worn and old company outfits. They do not cover their shoes when are inside the house. They are unprofessional and have regular household equipment; definitely not worth the $ 50 a month bill.
When I finally was able to cancel, I had to write a hand written letter to someone and snail mail it. Ridiculous! Stay away from them!!!

I don’t think I ever even seen a technician at my house. We still have spiders and bugs flying around in our doorway. Called to try to cancel but they said that we signed a 12 month agreement. WHAT! I will be cancelling but making sure that I call every week/​month for them to come out!

TERRIBLE! Worst customer service ever. I called them twice to cancel service and never got a return call but what I did get was a nice fat bill. F these people. DO NOT USE THESE B*STARDS.

Thank you for your response. I do not feel as if my complaint was read or acknowledged. The representative for EcoFirst is simply reciting his company policy.
For the record, I am 100% dissatisfied with EcoFirst. I paid to have my house thoroughly treated for pests and that did not happen. The insect situation was much worse after using this pest control company which is why I cancelled the service. I also forgot to mention that they sent a man to my home to harrass us for $ 100. He did not want to leave and I almost had to call the police to get him off of our property. This is not a company I would recommend to anyone out there who may be reading this complaint. Do not make the same mistake I did.
***Anyone having problems with this company like I did should definitely file a complaint with the BBB ***

Last month I was solicited by a door to door rep for this pest company who was new to our area. We had another service we had been using for years so I wasn’t looking to switch. Their sales rep promised services that frankly sounded too good to be true and a bargain price. Turns out they were.
Normally they service quarterly but we had monthly maintenance and wanted to keep that. The rep assured me that they’d be able to do monthly as well, all i had to do was call the office once to set up a standard monthly schedule. Then I was told they treated for snails, and offered humane rodent traps as part of their normal service. So I made the switch.
They treated our yard for snails (which was supposed to last for 3 months) yet the problem persisted. Then I called the office to arrange my monthly maintenance schedule and was told «they don’t do that». If i wanted monthly service I’d have to call them each month and ask that they come out. i don’t think so!
Next our cat brought in a live field mouse and released it in our kitchen. Its now hiding in-​between the cabinets. I called for humane traps and was told I’d have to wait 3 days for someone to come out. When I said that wasn’t acceptable, they then said a tech would be here the next morning. I told the tech our problem and he said all they had was glue boards and snap traps that he could install. Hmmm… doesn’t sound very humane to me. I have children and other pets, so no way i wanted those traps in my house. Besides I didn’t want to kill our unexpected visitor, just relocate him. The tech called his office to see if they had the humane traps I was promised but they don’t use them.
So basically the sales rep sold a service that this company doesn’t deliver just to get me as a customer. I will be canceling my service with them today and going back to our previous pest control company who did delivery everything they promised.
I want to add a final note. I was just contacted by their area manager who apologized sincerely for the inaccurate promises made by their sales staff. My service was terminated without any problem and he was quite gracious about it. EcoFirst may offer good pest control services, but i recommend you speak with their office directly to find out what their policies are so you will have realistic expectations when entering into an agreement with them.
