Cherie Davis and her staff are amazing. I guess I would have to start off by saying not all lawyers are created equal. My ex’s lawyer was on the pathetic side, and contrasting Cherie and the other lawyer was night and day. Cherie knows her business and asked the right questions, she presents well, and is a logical thinker. She asked me questions and made connections before we went to court that I hadn’t even caught onto. Not only was she good in court, she also is a wonderful listener, and was looking out for my daughter’s and my welfare at every step. Cherie prepared me for each court session, explaining what I could expect, and how things might go. She eased my concerns where she could, and helped me to find both balance and answers even when things looked a little dark. There is no one I would have rather had standing next to me in that court room.
Cherie is not a one woman army though, she has a full team and they are all just as amazing, supportive and might I say useful individuals. Christopher (Toby) Erikson attended the sessions in court too, and provided co-​council advice and insight along with Cherie when we were back in their office. He spent quite a bit of time with me when it came down to the separation of assets, and built out a stipulated agreement that cut through a lot of stumbling blocks to closing things out. Knowing I really wasn’t comfortable in a court room, they each (Cherie and Toby) sat next to me in court bringing a sense of support, and occasionally humor as they attempted to take away some of my stress. After court they both went over everything that happened with me making sure I understood it, threw in a couple of offhand comments to lighten my mood, and were always there for me when I needed them. Also Toby came to allow my ex to get her stuff from our house so she wouldn’t be violating the restraining order.
Sandra (Sandy) Offill was in constant communication with me via email, phone, and in person meetings letting me know what was happening in my case. She anticipated each item I would need, and reminded me of upcoming court times, or let me know when they were moved. She walked me through a dizzying amount of paperwork, sought answers to my questions from Cherie and Toby when they were law based, and was always thorough with a lot of foresight. Totally aside from this, she was also very supportive and personable, and that’s important when you’re going through this kind of traumatic event.
Halina Nafey also assisted me with a bunch of disclosure (and occasionally frustrating) type paperwork. She welcomed me every time I came to the office; made sure I had current copies of paperwork, and seems to have a knack for knowing when to make conversation and when to give you a little space.
Bottom line — you get what you pay for, and they aren’t cheap, and I know I already said this but I will again; there is no one I would rather have standing next to me in court than Cherie Davis, and both her and her staff are the best. This was a horrible situation, but my thoughts of this team are all fond ones.

I retained Cherie Davis at the recommendation of another family law attorney and a local trial attorney who both gave her very high marks for effectiveness and honesty. I had interviewed other attorneys. I found Cherie to be extremely honest, efficient and forthright. She does not beat around the bush – she will be honest with you – and has practiced family law for enough years to predict how almost any given situation will go. My ex-​husband and his attorney dragged us into court six times throughout this ordeal and I thank God I had Cherie as my attorney. She was always prepared and it made opposing council look so bad that the Judge fined my ex $ 10K for obstruction of justice. If you want efficiency and honesty, I recommend Cherie Davis.

I had initially given a very favorable review of this attorney. At first, Cherie Davis gave the right impression and said the right things, all which had the desired effect to hook me into believing in her. As it has turned out nearly a year later, I have lost total custody of my daughter and gave in to the pressures of the opposing attorney who, I will admit, ran circles around Cherie. Ms. Davis was completely out of her depth in my case. Yes, I had a tiger for an ex-​wife who had a $ 500/​hr SF (Union Sq) attorney but Davis has proven herself worthy of the title «lawyer» in spirit alone as she evidently lacks what it takes to tackle the more difficult cases.
BEWARE!

Cherie Davies is an excellent family law lawyer. I have been fighting in the courts for 6 years. I have been unfortunate enough to have come in contact with many lawyers on both sides of cases. Cherie will not pretend to be your good buddy and she may be to the point but she will not waste your time and she is effective both in court and in negotiating with other lawyers.

Be careful !! do your research before giving your money and sign an agreement at their office !

She is the WORST of any attorneys I know. She’ll give up your right with her smile, you’ll thinking she is in your side — SHE IS NOT. She is in your checkbook side LOL. She’ll bankrupt you and your credit card gets maxed out, her office assistant keep calling you every five seconds to your work, you cannot concentrate on your work anymore.
