This the best branch in the Onondaga County Public Library system. Yeah, I’m biased. I have been going here at least once a week since before I could even read. I can not imagine my Village without LPL. I have found, meet, hungout, said good bye to many friends and even made some new ones, at this Library. LPL has a very extensive collection of not only books and periodicals, but CDs, audiobooks, movies, games, and even activity kits(like star gazing, bird watching, etc.) They have a large community room that always has something going on. Best of all… it is FREE!

This library is awesome, probably the best in the county. I have been a patron for years. They have a wonderful selection of books, DVD’s, CD’s, etc. They have several computers with internet access, scanners(2), and printers. They also have amazing programming including the following: movies with complimentary popcorn/soda, concerts, lectures, workshops(drum circle, ongoing ukulele), and more. There is also a new room where you can do computer work and teleconferencing(a bit of an experiment). The only reason they don’t get 5 stars from me is because sometimes(rarely) a staff member can be snobbish. 99.9% of the time they are fine but once in a while the Liverpool comes out. In any event this is a great library.

I’m here few times a week. My Kids love this place. Everybody is always very helpful. Separate kids room, separate teen room, computers, many study locations. Huge Area for magazine reading. Nice location in middle of village too. Can walk to numerous restaurants and coffee shops. Cool little park across street if desire to read outside or check out one of the summer concerts. Library has outdoors benches also. Best library in the county.

I think I still have overdue books here! Don’t tell them! Growing up in Syracuse, I was always envious of the Liverpool library. It seems like whenever I looked up something cool, the only branch that would carry said item was the Liverpool Public Library and at the time I lived nowhere close. They carried computer games! A 12 year old kid like me at the time looked on with envy and even somehow trekked all the way out to check out«Where in the World is Carmen San Diego?» at this library and found it to be on a 5.25″ floppy disk. Except my computer at the time could only handle the 2.5″ floppy disks, but it was a good learning experience for me. OK, I digress and I’m nerding out a bit with old software here, but I recently came back here and found: — They have an incredible audio books section. They also can check you out a book on The Kindle. I have no idea how this works! — They have a large prints section. If the book you want to check out is in the large prints section, definitely grab it. So much easier to read. — They still have a lot of computer games and I hear they may even have console games. This is a rumor, so I’m not sure how true it is, but if any library would do this — it’s probably the Liverpool one. — There’s a nice large community room that you can reserve. — Staff is really nice and helpful and they have very up to date technology. Fantastic library in the village of Liverpool! Go geek out!
