Great Upstate diner located in a nice town. The owners are great people and the food is cheap and very good. The bar at night is a blast, they have a pool table, darts, a nice wooden dance floor and a great jukebox. In the fall and winter they light the wood stove that’s near the bar which is very nice. My friends and family always look forward to coming here.

Cheap food. Excellent price. Wonderful friendly staff. Everything I could have hoped for in a quick stop for breakfast right off the highway. I had two eggs and pancakes. Pancakes were large, fluffy, and the man in charge made sure I had some fresh butter. Highly recommended.

Small breakfast menu. Food was decent. We could do without the ants crawling all over the table

Review is for breakfast only. Food was fresh, delicious and reasonably priced. Service was excellent and swift. Plenty of ample free parking not far off 17. Retro décor & vibe made me feel as if I stepped back into 1975 with my family on vacation in the country.

You can get a hamburger anywhere, order the goulash(it is consistently delicious). Being German, I can attest to it’s authenticity. If you don’t see«goulash» on the menu, ask for it by name, as I think they Americanised it for simplicity. Other German staples are on the menu as well. Always very friendly service.

The best breakfasts. High quality ingredients and delicious recipes. Friendly and attentive service. Relaxing atmosphere. Leagues better than the Roscoe Diner.

Such an interesting place! A real down home joint. For it’s atmosphere I would give it 4 stars, but the food was okay. The service was friendly as mentioned in other reviews – when I noticed my burger was almost rare on the inside and I asked to have it cooked a little longer, they were very nice about it and I appreciated that a lot since I always feel bad asking! The cole slaw was pretty delish. I wish I had the breakfast though, didn’t realize you could order it for lunch otherwise I would have! They have a resident cat. I love cats so it was a nice bonus, but don’t be surprised if the cat pops up around your ankles during the meal!

Classic old school diner. Had a ham and Swiss omelet with home fries and rye toast. Wife had the blueberry pancakes and the low test«world’s best» coffee(decaf). We both ended breakfast as part of the clean plate club. Service was friendly and fast. We will definitely be back.

The Robin Hood was ALWAYS a stop on the way to and from all the upstate colleges(for me in the 1960’s). I am sad to see that the Quickway has bypassed it now. I remember it as a diner on the outside, and do miss that, but am delighted to see the interior décor as authentic as ever. This place is a gem that is not to be missed, excellent service, food, and ambiance make it a MUST!

We just had breakfast here. There was a line out the door. A tall man with a freshly pressed sleeveless shirt escorted us to our table and announced that he would bring us «table weapons» which were set out promptly in the classic French style. A woman who this tall man referred to as «Mom» walks faster and more elegantly than anyone I’ve ever seen. She breezed by the table carrying four plates of food, seven cups of coffee, and more table weapons. She offered to push our table as far into the corner as possible to ensure our comfort. They also encouraged us to take our time ordering so that we make the right decision. We noticed that the maple syrup was actually corn syrup which we believe was due to their emphasis on safety standards. After 30 minutes we ordered our food with the tall man and he offered to put all of the pre buttered toast on one big plate and put it in the center of the table to add to the authenticity of this communal style of country dining. To our surprise and delight we noticed a big display of taxidermy above our table. «Mom» galloped by in a charming way and informed us that the table should be pushed even further towards the corner for our comfort. To ensure that the breakfast conversations were uninterrupted, the kitchen staggered the delivery of our plates. That way, part of the table can eat and avoid talking with their mouths open while the other guests can be the speakers. Genius! In the interest of our health, refills on coffee are strictly forbidden here. Water in this beautiful area is unfortunately toxic due to the Nuclear Power plant and therefore the staff would like to protect guests from it by never allowing it. Because paying is optional, you only ask for the check if you want it. Otherwise they will not bother you with such trivial nonsense.
