Waited in a line, then left. Couldn’t wait any longer. Busy drive thru. One woman working drive thru and inside counter. Another woman filling soda refrigerator and watching all the customers line up but wouldn’t help out. Frankly folks, I don’t think these people understand much about running a business. Small country town. Too bad!

I love Shipley Donuts. They are hands down my favorites. I’ve gotten then from Billy’s on a few occasions in the past and they have been fine there. But my last trip to Billy’s left me feeling quite disappointed. Billy’s, unlike many Shipley outlets, still makes their chocolate iced donuts by taking a plain glazed donut and adding the icing — makes a big difference. I was recently through there on a Wednesday morning about 9am. When I stop here I’m always on a road trip and I decided to go through the drive-thru. The crabby woman at the window had permanent bitter beer face and never said ‘thank you’ one time. When I got my donuts, one of them might have had 15% of the normal amount of chocolate icing and the other maybe 5%. I guess they served them to me knowing I would be driving away. IF I go back to Billy’s I will go inside and make sure I don’t get this same ‘quality’ in the future.

Billy’s has the best donuts of anywhere, ever. Somehow, they taste different than other shipley’s — way better!

Quality slipping: the last two times we stopped here the food was not so good. Icing on donuts was skimpy at best and not hardly any sprinkles. The kolaches were not warmed up, either. My family was not happy with their sorry donuts. It happened again today. C’mon, Billy’s, fix this or you’ll lose us locals.

Billy’s is great — the donuts are delicious, the kolaches are not dry as they can be other places, and most of the people who work there are friendly and work to get customers through quickly. I will say that the layout is not great, considering the amount of business they do, especially on Friday mornings. It gets crowded, and the line doubles back on itself. If the drive-through window is too long it can get difficult even getting in the front door, and parking as a general rule is not easy. Still, the donuts are totally worth the hassle; just leave a little early!

my default ranking for anything shipley is four stars but billy’s gets five because it’s extra adorable and busted. their butterfly rolls make me so happy, i can’t even tell you. and hello? they have donut holes. who doesn’t love a donut hole? they also have a homemade drive thru where you literally drive up to a window and knock until someone comes to take your order. love that so much. oh and it’s cheap as a mofo. we got an astonishing amount of donuts and donut-like things and it was $ 6.
