Great bar attached to a great hotel — what more can you ask for? We got in pretty late, but thankfully the kitchen was serving until 11pm, so we got a couple of pizzas — really good. Beer selection was awesome, and craft cocktails were pretty good too — i had a Montana Mule, and it hit the spot. There were a few people playing music, and there was some dancing — it was a really nice vibe in there! Poor bartender was working alone & it was pretty busy, so he didn’t come around as often as we would have liked(probably for the better since we had to be up and on the road early the next morning) but that’s not really a big deal! Definitely will make a point of road-tripping back to this place!

Stopped in Livingston for the night before going to Yellowstone in the morning. Beer was fine, not a super huge selection but I was able to find something I liked. Had a really good burger and split it with my girlfriend. There was music the niight we were there, I don’t know if that happens all the time or not, but the singer was telling some horribly corny jokes that made me grin.

Perfect setting for all American bar… live music daily during summer. They have a large free billiards table which makes me happy. Crowd if full of people of all ages. The owner is really pleasant and made our stay inviting. This is our second time going here in less then a year. Love it.

Awesome. You can order food(burgers, pizza, salads and wings and fries) and there are all kinds of beer on tap. The burger was excellent — grass-fed beef that my husband said would have been tasty even without the fixin’s — and the drinks were good(we had a Salmon Fly Honey Rye and some classic cocktails). Fries were also thin and crisp, and there was live music, even on a Wednesday evening. Service was friendly and she checked in with us often. You can play pool, and there’s a game on the TV above the bar. It’s attached to the Murray Hotel, which is super convenient as that is where we were staying. Loved the emphasis on locally-sourced ingredients and the relaxed atmosphere.

Solid. Good food, cold beer and friendly. And you don’t have to go outside to get back to your room.

One of my faves. Awesome selection of specialty cocktails with infused vodka, gin etc and just about any fruit that can be found in Montana and squeezed can magically become a delicious cocktail that goes down like juice. And $ 5 pizzas from Gil’s next door on Monday nights to sop them up when you realize that those last 4 glasses were not in fact just yummy juice…

Liberal libations, excellent eats, superb staff. Livingston may be a small town, but has become known for good eats, good drinks, and a thriving art community. The Murray Bar is an icon. Any place with Paulaner hefeweizen on tap gets a serious thumbs up, but they also have great local microbrews and they make an exquisite old fashioned. The food scores are also high, given that their menu comes from Gil’s next door and the 2nd Street Bistro. I think they out crack in their Greek salad dressing because I’m instantly addicted. The BLT should not be missed. Great live music venue as well.

It isn’t the dive bar that it used to be, as it is now between two of the trendiest restaurants in Montana, and no one who frequented this bar 10 years ago would deny the differences. They have recently made a move to become the best tap selection in Livingston, replaced all their lines and taps, and started serving beers that are not available anywhere else. It is a long time coming, and I will be in more often because of it. Awesome bar menu and specials for food.

great bar food, and the price is awesome compared to NYLA. Friendly service, games, old school bar.

Definitely the best, most happening bar in Livingston. Great bartenders & bands plus well poured drinks. Best of all it’s a locals bar — don’t worry if you’re from out of town though they are more than happy to see a new face. Almost forgot — you can get great food(not just bar food) there as well. Wood fired pizza, burgers, sandwiches, homemade soups and the best fries in town. One of my personal favorites — anywhere!

Awesome bar! I’m from LA, and was in town for my boyfriends family reunion. Them Irish sure know how to party! This bar was my favorite. Everyone was friendly. The bartender makes a mean margarita, but his hand gets heavy as the night goes on. I’m not a fan of that, but I know many people are. They still tasted great, though!

MYGOD!?! I’m the first to review this legendary bar of old west fame that continues to thrive in the ribald Murray hotel? Well slap my ass and call me Rebbecca. Like a western version of Billy Joel’s «The Piano Man», here you’ll find ranchers, merchants, good old boys looking for a fight, and bad old girls looking for a lay. Lots of laughs, fun music and fishing flies framed with pictures of their makers. The bar service is quick. No waiting. Real pros. TIP, Sit at the back near the music and watch it all play out before you like a flowing Toulouse Lautrec painting coming to life. Then rent a ramshackle room in the hotel and become FAMOUS, like many before you.
