Okay, this may sound totally crazy, but there is a place called the New Life Bookstore on Mill Street, Livingston Texas, which is also the New Life Church and they sell Shrimp and signs… Yes, it’s a church, a commercial ahem, Bible book store, a commercial company that makes and sells signs, and they do sell food as well, some of the finest shrimp in the world, Texas Gulf Super Jumbo. Whew… My father and I went in here as I saw a sign for Texas Gulf Shrimp. So apparently their signs worked on me. My father was looking for a bookstore, I was looking for Gulf Shrimp, so this met both of our needs in a really odd way. I bought a few pounds of totally excellent quality super jumbo Texas Gulf Shrimp that they had in the freezer. I got the last two pounds they had in that size and the price was insanely low, like $ 7 a pound. They said they stock it, right there in the bookstore year round. I believe my Dad bought a book yet before making any purchases, we did walk all the way back through the book /shrimp /sign store and into the New Life Church itself, which appears to be able to seat at least 100 people. Lots of musical instruments and it seemed peaceful and serene. I’m not going to go into my own religious views here, and I will just say that this seems like a nice place to go to church. I think it’s a little strange that a(tax exempt) church would be entered by going through a(for profit) bookstore that doubles as a(for profit) sign store and(for profit) excellent food store(shrimp), but ya know, whatever. This is the United States. :) The shrimp was totally fantastic and some of the best quality I have found, this far from the Gulf of Texas. And I will most certainly pick up a few more pounds when we are in the area. God Bless America and God Bless Texas.
