Rick’s has amazing halibut, which is the common special and my favorite. Steaks are always great, sauces are delicious, and soup sippers just leave you wishing for more. They always use fresh ingredients, many from Rick’s own garden. The only thing that I’m not extatic about is their burgers; they are pre made patties and two out of the three times I’ve ordered it, the burger was only luke warm. In all other aspects, I think you will find something on the menu that you don’t like.

Food was good. Service and hospitality left much to be desired… We were passing through Livingston this evening and decided to stop for dinner. Reviews for Rick’s sounded good so thought we’d give it a try. We entered and waited at the door to «be seated» as instructed by the usual signage and were told by two different people, three times they would be right with us and proceeded to wait by the door and wait and wait. We were finally asked if we were on the reservation list. We replied that we had not made a reservation and were told that we could have a table, but only for an hour.(There were three or four empty tables and six empty chairs at the bar.) We opted for seats at the bar. While we waited to be served guests with and without reservations came in and were seated. :(( Food was good, but not so good that it was worth the lack of hospitality and/or good service.

Love this place. Good food, calm atmosphere, and Rick does an excellent job if making you feel«special». Can never wait to grab a bite here.

Just finished dining at Rick’s on Main. If you like to savor excellent cuisine, this is a must stop! If you want to gulp and go, why would you pass up McDonald’s? This is a place to enjoy the slow food experience; savoring every bite. We were started with a simple, yet superb, cream of tomato soup with Parmesan and crostini amusement. The house salad, recommended to compliment our main course, not only complimented, but could stand on it’s own! Such simple, yet extraordinarily intriguing flavors! Awesome Cioppino, fabulous Filet with Blue Cheese macaroni. Other reviewers recommend the Chocolate Won Tons for dessert. We couldn’t decide what to have from the fantastic sounding dessert choices, so we caved to the recommended. Wow! Use your fingers and lick them and your chops! Go! Try! Love!

Not the place if you are in even a remote hurry. I would imagine our food would come out sooner if the chef spent more time in the kitchen. First drinks took a lot time to order, then a long time to receive. Dinner took a long time to order, and again to receive. Check took a long time to get, etc etc. We were the only table in there too, so no excuses about being«swamped» or «in the weeds.» Food was ok, as usual, but if they were out in half the time that’d be worth two stars right there.
