The Kroger on 8 Mile in Livonia is pitiful. Unfriendly, unorganized and dirty. I drive further to go to another Kroger even though this one is literally across the street.

I love this Kroger. Sure it’s a little smaller and dated but they have everything I need and the staff is always helpful. This review however is mainly for the pharmacist. I can’t remember his name but he’s the older shorter gentleman. I’ve been going here for years and he’s seen my insurance come and go and has gone above and beyond to help me find resources for cheaper prescriptions. You don’t see that very often from pharmacies. My latest visit however I had literally just come from gruesome root canal which the dentist didn’t give me any Motrin before hand and by the time I reached the pharmacy to fill my prescription I was in more pain than one could bare. I was sobbing in the waiting room from the pain and he came to me and allowed me to go immediately in the bathroom to take one of my prescribed Motrins while he worked on filling the rest. He also offered me am ice pack to sooth the pain and let me keep it. Within minutes I was instantly relived. He is a God send. I’ve also utilized western union here and being my first time I was lost, the money center walked me through everything patiently and gracefully. This Kroger has everything we need!

I’ve been to a few Kroger locations in my area and by far this one is my favorite. They have a great selection of meats, seafood and baked goods. My rewards card saves me money on groceries plus I can get up to 10 cents off a gallon of gas. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The store is clean and well stocked. I’ll definitely be shopping here for years to come.

This is the closest Kroger location to me, so I go here often. Never had any issues until recently. 1.) The staff is rude and very unprofessional. Please don’t talk about your pregnancy scare with the cashier while you bag my groceries… Secondly, if you don’t have a bagger, and I bag my own groceries, don’t get mad. I had a male cashier tell me to go over my receipt with a fine tooth comb because I helped him bag my groceries. 2.) The staff isn’t helpful. I asked an employee to help me find lighters. She pointed to the check out, and walked away. I looked there, nothing. I went back to her, shared the info, and she again pointed to the check out. Even the managers don’t care. So please take my advice and go to another Kroger :)

I don’t love Kroger and I’m not a huge fan of this store but it isn’t as terrible as some of the stores I’ve been to in the past. Like Tacarra, I come here for the shear convenience of the location while I’m at the office. Unfortunately they just don’t have as wide a variety of grocery product as Meijer down the road. But in a pinch they’ll do. The store itself is laid out well enough and the staff is friendly but prices here are always just a little higher than Meijer plus the you scan is infuriating.

Previously I liked this Kroger’s it’s pretty friendly there is nice people there that work there but tonight we went about 11:45 pm and grab one thing one or two things and well I had picked up some Seagrams bottled alcohol whatever it was anyways I just turned 21 years old 10 days ago I use my passport as my form of identification and while I scan the alcohol it said to show my ID to the workers which I did and the woman said that she would not sell to me even though I was 21 and I had my ID I was so taken aback… I’m not sure if basic math or looking at a calendar is needed because I pulled out my phone and showed her a calendar and she still said no. Then decided to sell to my boyfriend who is 22 but it was a very upsetting situation but I’m not sure if I’m going to return to this Kroger which usually gets about $ 3,000 out of me every year so I don’t know if I’ll be going back to this particular Kroger anytime soon

I shop here out of shear convenience and nothing else. This store is in need of some serious rehabilitation and updating. The store is in disrepair with the doors barely working, the carts in desperate need of being replaced, and the fixtures being outdated. Their produce and meat selection is beyond poor. I will not purchase any beef of any type from this or any other Kroger after a few of my experiences buying old meat that had been repackaged. Also, a year or so ago I had to go to the store manager and complain about the fruit flies in the produce department. Since then I haven’t noticed as many fruit flies but I rarely bother going over to produce(meijer and bushes have better produce). Again, out of convenience I go here for my basics and food staples, but not for produce or meat. The Kroger card deals are great but not good enough to make me want to shop here more. The only reason this store gets three stars is because of the Kroger gas station that is there. Finally, I can use my fuel points! Also, the employees are usually pretty busy talking amongst themselves even while ringing you up, which is annoying.

I’m just not a fan of this particular Kroger, but it’s the closest to me, so shop there I shall. The produce, bakery and deli departments are pretty mediocre at this particular Kroger, so I’ll continue to shop at places like Hiller’s when I need quality items from such departments. As for the customer service here, it’s quite poor. A smile and a friendly hello is all I ask for, yet I’ve found that quite hard to come by here.

Surprised at how busy this place is during the daytime. It’s an ok grocery store. I usually get my non produce items from here. Prices are alright depending on what you are looking for. They usually have good deals when using a Kroger card though.

I love Kroger! This Kroger stays open super late(midnight on most evenings) and they usually have what I’m looking for. The produce is sometimes lack luster, hence the four instead of five stars. The workers here all know the customers by name and if you’re really fortunate you’ll be sung to by one of the friendly cashiers!

This Kroger is usually pretty busy when I’m there(which is various days & times of day) but I’m usually prepared to shop smart with list organized by aisle so I don’t have to back track. This store is on the smaller side so its hard to get around other carts with yours or just pull over & look at the shelves withought being in someone’s way. Because the store is smaller the selections are smaller which kind of sucks when I’m hoping for something specific they don’t usually have. On the plus, the staff is generally friendly & fast so checkout isn’t as bad as it could be. I definitely love the $ 10 for 10 bin specials when they offer the Seagrams coolers, 22oz beers, or lil’ wines… sometimes even 2 of the 3. Parking here can be a pain in the butt(because of drivers, not the lot) so I park away & walk. The last 3 times I’ve been in there has been a line at returnables which is kind of obnoxious… they need more bins. Produce is usually good(as is everything else) & I’ve never purchased anything bad(spoiled etc.) from there in the 4 years I’ve been shopping the store. It works for me, its got the basics plus more but occasionally I still need a trip to a produce or large market for organic meats & more brand options.
