I’ve always liked horses, but I was never really into the whole cowboy scene. Never in my life did I think that I would own a pair of cowboy boots. That all changed when I walked into Scott Coburn Boots & Western Wear with my boyfriend; He was buying his second or third pair of cowboy boots, I just came along for the ride. This store is humongous! When you walk in, the right half of the building is dedicated entirely to boots, while the left half is dedicated to clothing, hats, saddles, and a variety of other goods. They have a great selection of high-quality items(made in the USA) for men, women, and even children. As I wandered around, waiting for my boyfriend, I tried on a pair of boots. Cowboy boot sizing does not translate exactly to normal shoe sizing. After the first pair didn’t fit, I tried on another pair in a bigger size. They were comfortable, but nothing I would really ever wear. I kept walking around, when a pair of Boulet boots caught my eye. I tried them on, and holy smokes were they ever comfortable. I made about 5 laps around the store, as my boyfriend tried on about 10 more pairs of boots. The employees were extremely patient and helpful trying to find him exactly what he wanted. Since his size was not in stock, he was able to order his pair of boots. Meanwhile, I still had that pair of Boulet’s on. I didn’t want to take them off. I was in love. Long story short, I am now the proud owner of a pair of cowboy boots.

They have been around forever, and they are in a weird location(corner of 8 mile & Farmington) for what they sell, but they are still in business so they must be doing something right. They have a sizable boot selection, but it’s concentrated so you won’t find much in terms of a diversity of options. They have no hat selection to speak of(«we can order it» is the standard mantra). They have a nice saddle selection(both western and english). The clothing selection is modest. Overall, I’d say 3 stars.
