Must do the Sunday brunch. They set the standard for what a great brunch buffet should be! The food is always delicious and there are so many choices. Have breakfast, then go back up for carved ham & turkey with yummy mashed potatoes and a bunch of other entrees. There is salad, home made breads, soup and finish up with their famous sticky buns! The price is more than reasonable for all the food you get. On top of all of this, no matter how long the line is at the door… by the way, there is a REASON diners patiently wait, they keep the tables turned over at a steady pace so it doesn’t take too long to get seated. Once you are seated, the service is fantastic. You coffee cup never gets empty(by the way, best coffee in town) and your empty plates are swiftly removed so you can replace it with another trip to the buffet. Tom and Amy have been in business for many years and let me tell you, they have this buffet thing down to a science! I used to work there years ago, so I also can promise that you never have to worry about cleanliness in the kitchen. Tom Ludwig’s kitchen is meticulously clean and some of the staff have been there for many years because they treat their employees well. All the food is delicious and consistent and their catering service is top notch with reasonable pricing. This is a Lock Haven gem!

Dutch Haven is a favorite among locals. They have a wing night which is very popular and I was excited to try it! Unfortunately, we had to wait a long time for a table, our wings took almost 45 minutes to come out, and my larger wings were raw in the middle! I was very displeased with my wing night experience. On the up side, Dutch Haven is also popular for their weekend brunch. I’ve been there a couple times and I never leave hungry! It’s all-you-can eat for around $ 10 per person. They have a person making eggs and omelettes to order. There is also a salad bar, and a food bar which is stocked with breakfast potatoes, bacon, ham, sausage, scrambled eggs, waffles, etc. In addition, they have a meat caring station with ham or turkey. The last time I was there, they had a chicken cordon blue soup and I couldn’t stop eating it! There is always a wait for brunch, so either come early or expect to stand for a while. If you don’t mind eating at the bar, they will seat you there right away upon request. That’s what we did last time. We always look forward to the mimosas, however last time we went, they were all out of champagne. The bar tender offered us a white peach sangria instead and it was wonderful!

The Dutch Haven is a great place to stop if you’re in Lock Haven and an absolute MUST if it’s a Sunday morning! They have a wonderful brunch buffet that is not huge but has an excellent selection of fresh, mouth watering foods, including a chef to tailor make eggs, omlets & pancakes! It’s got simple décor that really makes you feel comfortable and a great atmosphere. We’ve never liked much from the menu except for the crab-corn soup but that’s due to personal preference and NOT lack of quality!

My wife and I both ordered the prime rib, medium rare. It is the BEST prime rib meal I’ve ever had! The portions are huge, requiring a doggie bag, and the service top notch. The bar tender is a Bloody Mary goddess!. You will not be disappointed. Please try them. Saturday Night is prime rib night. Yummy!!!

Good meals and warm atmosphere. I read a bad review here about someone being turned away, about an hour from closing on one particular occasion-the Dutch Haven is a small business that most likely just didn’t have the food left to serve you on a very busy day. Open only Wednesday thru Sunday, it seems like the kind of place that doesn’t keep food forever in their freezer. They order what they will sell and do a great job with the food they put out. I’d rather miss out on the good meal once in a while than eat something that has been packed into the corner of some freezer for three years… 5 stars for the many, many times I’ve eaten there while in Lock Haven on business. Never had a bad meal. Always look forward to Wednesday night when I’m in town for the week.

Went for the first time on a Friday night post Thanksgiving meal. all in all your typical American eatery with a wide variety on the menu. The restaurant is joined: with a bar which lends to the ambience. Wait staff was friendly and cordial and our food was brought promptly considering the large party size. Kids ordered chicken appetizer which they enjoyed, as the individual pieces were actually white meat chicken coated with panko bread crumbs, and they wolfed them down. Just before the meal service the servers brought out bread, which included sliced white bread and cornbread topped with cinnamon sugar, which was quite tasty. I had the Dutch haven steak which was an 8 ounce Angus cut cooked medium, served with fries and house salad. It was cooked perfectly and my only complaint was that it wasn’t larger. Wifey ordered chicken mushroom dish which was good also. Kids had the grilled Reuben sandwich and fish and chips special. Both were delicious. When they say the meals come with chips — the potato kind– they will not come from a bag. They will probably be from fresh, thinly cut and fried in their kitchen. I would definitely repeat, it was hard to believe that this place existed and I haven’t been. We will see you on Sunday for the brunch there have been reviews on Unilocal for.

My husband and I went here one night for their fish dinner. We got there a little more than an hour before they were closing for the night and were turned away. We were told that they had more than enough people to serve and were not allowing anyone else to dine. I will NEVER go back.

To say that your dining options are limited in the Lock Haven area would be an understatement. However, the Dutch Haven tries its best to represent — albeit in a comfort food, home cooking kind of way. When we visit family in the area, a trip to Sunday Brunch is usually on the agenda. The prices are amazing and the food is good enough that you are not gonna want to eat until the next morning. Starting off, you can gets eggs any style, omelettes, pancakes, and some delicious French toast. There is a carving station with ham and turkey, but the star of the carving station is delicious ham gravy — you ain’t gettin that at some gastropub in Philly. Overcooked green beans, over sugared candied sweet potatoes, stuffing, extra salty bacon, and hash browns remind you of Grandma’s on Thanksgiving and are just part of the buffet. At the far end are sticky buns and other desserts. Someone told me there was a salad bar somewhere, but I was too busy eating meat to go and find it. Definitely check out the Dutch Haven for Sunday Brunch — oh … And by the way, this belt loosener is going to set you back a whole $ 9.95 — sweet!

I come for the Sunday brunch buffet anytime I am in town and it hasn’t missed yet. Made to order omelets and pancakes never disappoint and there always seems to be a pastry or dessert that just rocks. Not to mention that they can handle my large entourage if I make reservations(up to 20 people so far). Good food in a nice atmosphere that won’t break the bank.

Just OK. Good service and modest prices. Crab corn chowder good. Caesar salad had what seemed to be bottled dressing. Chicken pasta was gummy and tasteless. Bread served with food rather than when we arrived. Corn bread seemed to have cinnamon in it — weird. Potato stuffed pork chop was good and large portion. Waitresses were cleaning tables with spray bottle(windex?) while we ate, which was unappetizing. Pleasant ambiance, but nothing special. Men’s restroom had strong floral spray odor, which made me wonder if it was truly clean. Has potential, but…

The Dutch Haven has been around for a few years now. You can either choose to eat off of their buffett when they are serving off of it or choose from their menu. The food is great and the atmosphere and staff are excellent. Prices are resonable and they also have a wine and beverage bar in the outter lounge area that you can order from for your meal as well. It has a small off street parking lot and can be a little tricky to find if your not familiar with the Lock Haven area but worth finding.
