I cannot speak for the pizza which seems to be pretty popular, but we stopped in here to try the ice cream at this«dairy bar.» I tried a medium vanilla soft serve cone chocolate dipped. It was your average yummy soft serve ice cream, but the chocolate shell dipping sauce tasted old and like it had been burnt in the melting pot and re-stirred. I probably won’t order ice cream here again, but may try the pizza in the future.

A true mom and pop establishment. We pick up pizza from lombardis on a pretty regular basis. It’s a soft thin crust with a light layer of sauce and a nice amount of cheese. The topping list is minimal and no frills but includes the standard fare. One thing I love is that the pizza is still great heated up the next day. I judge a pizza on how edible it is for leftovers.

Usually we go for the strawberry shakes, they are very good. With the sign out front advertising Hand Dipped Peach ice cream, we decided to go with peach. After being told that hand dipped shakes only come in medium and that they were $ 4.50 each(even though that is not on the menu) we still decided to go with the peach shakes. We got the shakes in the drive thru and was back on the road. What I got for my $ 18.00 worth of shakes, was 4 — 16oz cups of milk with maybe a scoop of Ice cream. Lombardi’s you lost a customer!

Lombardi’s is cool because it doesn’t try to be more than it is. No frills hand dipped ice cream with only a few options besides cones, shakes, and malts. Coneys, burgers, fried fish and all of the other things you expect at a small diner.

Despite its out-of-the-way location, Lombardi’s is a super-cool find on Columbus far south side. The folks at Lombardi’s combine several of my favorite things: ice cream, diners, pizza delivery and farm markets. All make strong showings at this glorified roadside stand. Check it out.
