Seriously, you have to go here if for nothing else is their English toffee. Very smooth and creamy and the chocolate is amazing. They also have excellent chocolate covered graham crackers for $.75 can you beat that price? Stop in and treat yourself you’ll be pleasantly surprised

Candy is dandy, but liquor is quicker. Well I think Hollingsworth has turned that convention on it’s head. Wonderful, amazing, homemade quality product. For toffee, and turtles I’m not going anywhere else!

Rare find in Lockport, Illinois. We lived there for 15 years and there were only a small handful of special eating and snacking establishments. «Hollingworth Candies» is every bit as spectacular as anywhere in Chicago or anywhere where you felt you got a hold of some delicious homemade candies or caramel apples. The buttery potent, yet delicate toffee creations are their staple, also, easy on the teeth, you won’t crack a tooth! People have been known to line up outside for their caramel apples… ALWAYS fresh, crisp apples… they don’t compromise on this whatsoever. Always will additionally find an assortment of seasonal and holiday goodies to tempt you too!

This place is delicious. I am not really a candy guy, and especially not a toffee guy, but I full on love their toffee. We first went here during the Lockport Sweets Crawl, which stopped here among other sweet tooth places in town. We got to go in back and make some candy of our own, which was cool. In addition to the great toffee, they have a bunch of other really good creations. Carmel apples, chocolate covered everything, a variety of dipped oreo things, turtles, etc, etc. Definitely worth a stop, it is one of the top notch establishments in town.

Yummy, made from scratch candies, locally produced. Friendly, courteous staff.
Legit. Copper kettles and all, and free samples.

Locally, Hollingworth has some of the best toffee as it is what they are known for. My favorite Hollingworth product is not so popular and I experienced for the first time this year.
Chocolate Covered Strawberries!
For special occasions (and just because), boyfriend will call ahead and order me a half dozen. They are always juicy and delicious. Even the out-​of-​season Christmas Strawberries were phenomenal. They are always available; however, most of the time you need to call ahead a few hours in order to get them.

Best toffee in the world! Melt in your mouth. Made in the store in a copper kettle… from an old family recipe. The original owner in her 80’s still cooks and helps run the store to make sure the recipe is done the way it should be! Great family, great candy… if you haven’t tried it you should there are always free samples!

I have to agree with the other reviewers; the toffee is absolutely melt-​in-​your-​mouth AH-​MAE-​ZING! We are lucky to have a gem of an old school chocolatier right here in Lockport! The store is tiny, but they have a great selection. I even saw a lady making chocolate covered strawberries right there in the store. Plus they were friendly. I will definitely be back!

This is indeed a tiny little store. The toffee is available in dark or milk chocolate; they also have dark or milk turtle-​equivalents they call «Chesters.» The toffee is excellent; they use pecans, not cheaper nuts. They also have a variety of dipped Oreos, marshmallows, etc., mostly in milk chocolate. The marshmallows are marketed as «Lincoln’s hats,» which is really quite clever. They’ve been in business since 1985 and have been featured on QVC.

Received a box of toffee as a gift and WOW! This is the best toffee I have ever had! It’s amazing! You have to try it.
