Lockport’s Lincoln Landing

Lockport’s Lincoln Landing is located along the old I & M canal and next to the Gaylord Historic Building. It is a nice setting for a small park and is full of historic information.
I love finding little treasures like this. We were there on a weekday, so we almost had the place to ourselves. The view up and down the canal was really scenic. We watched a family of mallards preening on the bank of the canal. Then we walked around reading all the historical markers and communed with a strange statue of Abe Lincoln. It seems like there is always something new to learn about our 16^th president.
We had already eaten lunch or we would have tried the restaurant in the Gaylord Historic Bldg. This is a really nice site for locals. As we live 40 miles away, I don’t think we will get back here soon, but if we are in the area, we will check it out again, especially in the spring or fall.
