Love this little deli store. Sandwiches and cookies are great! The owner is super sweet. I wish this was closer to home. I pick up for customers. Well worth the stop.

I had the Italian sub at a party last night. Hands down the best I have ever had! Will be ordering from there the next time I need catering, and will be stopping in to check out their other menu items as everyone at the party was talking about all of the good stuff they’ve had from there.

I have just made the executive decision to declare Stefanelli’s as one of the premier Italian Sub Sandwich locations in the Chicago Metro Area. This place just delivers the goods without the pretentious attitude of wan-a be butchers with pencils resting on their ears(Augustino’s Rock & Roll Deli). Talk is cheap. but this place is damn good!

Well, we LOVE Frangella’s in Palos but it’s too far, so when this opened up so close to us we thought we would give it a try. Needless to say we were sorely disappointed. We did the family meal deal– takeout for family of four– you pick meatballs or chicken, spaghetti or mostaccioli, and salad and garlic toast. All for $ 12, so I thought it was a good value. However, we got meatballs and mostaccioli and the meatballs and sauce were SOOO bland. We expected more from authentic Italian food. Also, the salad was brown and the tomatoes were moldy. Gross! No thanks!

I ordered the shrimp dinner and it was bad. It was all breading and hardly any shrimp. It was a bland flavor. The fries were flavorless too. The usual deli staple, coleslaw, was the worst I ever had. It was bland and mushy. My friend had the eggplant pasta and didn’t like it. I told the owner I didn’t like the food. She said the subs are great. But if you, as the owner, know that besides the subs, your food is subpar, wouldn’t you shorten your menu, or fix those subpar foods? She also never offered a different food choice after I complained. That’s not good business.

Best Italian sausage I have tasted in a long time, this store is as good or better as any Italian deli on Taylor street in Chicago. All the products in this store are great, really worth the trip.

We ordered sandwiches from Stefanelli’s last evening. My husband goes there frequently when he get’s his hair cut at Jean Marie Salon in Lockport so I’ve heard comments from him about their great sandwiches, I was anxious to try it for myself. We ordered a Breaded Eggplant, Pepper & Egg and an Italian Sub. They also have Aranchini on their menu and not too many places offer this Italian delicacy so we ordered one of those too. The sandwhiches were very good — I thought the Pepper & Egg was the best of the three for sure. It’s also nice that they have this sandwich year round, most places only offer it during Lent. The Breaded Eggplant could have used a bit more cheese though. The Aranchini was ok — instead of the traditional filling of rice, cheese, ground meat and peas, the Stefanelli version had no peas(at least none that I could find) and ham. I also thought the red sauce you typically put on top was a bit sweet and dense for my taste. Overall, I really enjoyed the food we ordered from Stefanelli’s and I will plan to visit the store myself very soon so I can check out their other Italian specialties.

If you want a much better selection of meats, cheeses, and Italian foods at the same prices, Italia imports on 143rd and wolf. Had a few sammies here, nothing impressive and the menu is limited for subs(I was told I couldn’t make my own)

This place is the best! They r not closed either! The best homemade pizza there is, and I’m a total pizza snob growing up in blue island, alsip area! They have homemade sausage that is soooooo good and great on the pizzas too and there’re best pepperoni! I look forward to my homemade pizzas! The other pastas are good too!

Great little one stop shop for all your Italian needs! Love the homemade frozen pasta and amazing deli bar. Wish they had a handful or produce like rapinis or mushrooms to finish off our shopping list but that’s no big deal! Excited to nosh on the yummy canolis and antipasti platter stuff we picked up!

Just found out today that their deli makes incredibly good lunches at extremely reasonable prices. We stopped in here today and after perusing the menu for a while, I opted to get the Italian beef/sausage combo. It came on an 8″ bun with red sauce and piping hot for only $ 4.99. It was so big I had half for lunch and the rest for dinner. Best combo I’ve had in a long, long time. With prices comparable to McDonald’s, why wouldn’t you come here for lunch every once in a while? Get here before the word gets out because once it does, the lines will be out the door! Mangia! Mangia!
