I love this store so much, I wish I could move in! I bought a high end Bernina sewing machine here and have zero regrets. They gave me an amazing trade-​in offer and won me over as a customer for life! Their selection of fabric and patterns, as well as sample quilt ideas is amazing – I wish I could buy it all.
While this shop might not be in the busiest suburb, it is a short drive off 355 and only takes me 25 minutes from Glen Ellyn. Because of their fantastic customer service (owners ans staff) and selection, this is my «go to» store. Plus, if you buy a Bernina machine from them, you get 20% off all Bernina accessories forever! That is a fantastic buying incentive! They also give the Bernina Mastery classes for free. I found some of that online, but going to the class was invaluable, even as a seasoned sewist.

Ever fall down and scrape your knee when you were a kid? Then had your Mom make it all better?
This store did that for me today after a nasty experience at Quiltfabriccom. I then came here looking for solid blues and Kaffe Fassett. The owner showed me two solids she has ordered, stated that more people want them now, showed me a quilt she is working on, exclaimed over the book I was using and had some Kaffe Fassett fabrics.
My quilt booboo feels all better now, thanks Thimbles!

I don’t have the patience to be a quilter, but I’ve had occasion to shop at Thimbles a few times for gifts. The staff is extremely helpful, especially when I don’t really know what I’m looking for. They have quite a wide selection, and patterns that range from traditional quilt styles to really interesting artsy quilts. It makes me wish I were a quilter.
