Love this place. 4 screens and great shows. Great eats in the Snack bar. RETRO the best word for the place. Visit the past, see a movie at the drive in! Great for the kids too…

I went to see a triple feature in the comfort of my trunk with lots of blankets, pillows, and starlight restaurant food. I just put a few seats down and it’s really comfy. It’s enjoyable because your outside looking at the stars, breathing fresh air, and enjoying some movies. ¹⁰⁄₁₀ experience !

So, you want to go to the drive in, but the two movies you want to watch aren’t paired together. No problem, just change your radio dial and watch the second film in your side view mirror. This plan also works if one of the movies you intended to see turns out to be a real snoozer.

Tonight we went to take our grandkids to go see Minions and Insude Out. We waited in line for over 90 minutes. We tried calling them just to find out it’s all automated and you can’t get a live person. We also were checking their website and Facebook page for updates. We finally get to the ticket booth to be told they were sold out.
My daughter went on their Facebook page and write the following:
I’m very upset and hurt right now. I sat in line for over a hour and s half just to get told it was sold out. You couldn’t update your Facebook page, your website or even your automated system to tell people? I have a little boy who is crushed and heartbroken right now. Absolutely uncalled for!!! How many other kids were crushed because you couldn’t take two seconds out if your day to let your customers know.
This us how the Drive In responded:
Read the comment at the top of our Facebook page. «If you are planning on attending Minions this weekend on Saturday or Sunday nights, please plan to arrive very early. On Friday night, Minions was sold out on both screens by 9:00. Saturday and Sunday nights are expected to be similar.»
My daughter replied:
I read your stupid comment. But that does not tell anyone that it’s sold out. It says that I should be prepared, which I was. I got there early. You still could have taken two seconds to care about your customers and inform them that it actually did sell out so kids don’t get crushed. The fact you would try to justify being lazy because of two little sentences that don’t say yes or no is just ridiculous.
Drive Uns final comment us this:
If not seeing a movie is enough to make your children feel «crushed,» I’d hate to see something really serious happen in their lives. People die in accidents, sicknesses, and cancer. That is something to get «crushed» over. Missing seeing a movie due to a sellout which was predicted hours in advance is something you need to take responsibility for, instead of blaming someone else to make yourself feel better. I hope for the sake of your children that nothing truly «crushing» ever occurs in their lives. I think they’ll get over missing a movie.
I really hope they are not parents and I hope they loose business over this. I guess we can call them caring and understanding how we couldn’t prepare this little boy ahead of time because they couldn’t take the time to update their automated system, Facebook page or their website.

So I finally talked my husband into going to the drive-​in last night. We were a few minutes late and the previews had just started and moments after I turned the car off and my husband was tuning the radio, a man on a Segway (I’m going to assume he was the owner or some kind of manager based on other reviews I read on google and Unilocal,also no one else was on a Segway) came up next to me and proceeded to tell me that my parking lights were on and they needed to be off. I told him that all of the settings were set to off and it’s a new car so I wasn’t sure how or why they’re on. As I was trying to figure out how to turn them off, he asked if I was sure they were off as if I was some kind of idiot, what kind of car it was and then was trying to reach in to my car. He seemed extra agitated after I told him that it was push start ignition and there was no key to take out. Trying to concentrate while he was going «ma’am could you…» «Ma’am if you just…» Ma’am did you try…” «Ma’am… Ma’am… Ma’am…», was not helpful and I did not appreciate his condescending tone. I finally figured it out, without his help, all I had to do was push the ignition once more.
So I am giving three stars based on how I was spoken to by this man. It’s a new car I’m not going to know everything about it and I had never taken it to the drive in before. I had JUST pulled in, the previews had just started, and I was backed into my spot with the rear of my car facing the screen, and there were no cars in the rows behind me. I know it’s a drive-​in and my lights could be a disturbance to those around me, but there was no need to talk to me as if I were stupid, I was trying to turn them off. Also, a little patience and understanding would of been nice and more helpful. A few minutes later a lot attendant ASKED us if we were having trouble getting the inside lights of the hatch off, we said yes and he then ASKED if we wanted him to show us, we said yes and with a simple click of the latch they were off. We were super appreciative of his help and POLITENESS. If anything the owner/​manager could learn a lesson in proper customer service from this employee. I feel that the way a business owner/​manager treats their customers is a reflection of how they feel about their business and the work that they do. So, I will not be back to this drive-​in.

It was great however the wait staff is not very friendly as of this point I have only gone twice so in hoping they perk up but don’t think they will since summer just started

Love this Drive-​In! I have been coming here for years and have had nothing but good experiences :) So much better than seeing a movie in the theaters, plus you can see two movies for the price of one! Well, less than one, I think… then again, I don’t remember how much places like the Regal are anymore. Anyway, I get on my comfy clothes, bring a pillow and blanket… and I am good to go!
They take very good care of their facilities and the staff are friendly. I would highly recommend «liking» their facebook page to get up to date info once summer starts. Things change and I believe, the owner, informs everyone on what is going on… especially during high anticipated movie nights or opening nights. Be sure to visit the snack bar! They have a lot of delicious goodies as well as more «food type» items in case you skipped dinner.
I guess the only issue I ever had is that I noticed recently cars are doubling up between the designated poles and I can’t remember for sure if that is allowed. I remember last year a car parked right next to my friends car and it was a tight squeeze to get out. Maybe it was my friend’s fault for parking too close to the one pole, but it wasn’t cool.
Other than that, great place! Good food! And don’t forget to check out Retro Night Tuesdays! They play classics every Tuesday night during the summer. :)

This drive in theater is such a great summer tradition. It makes me feel like I’ve time traveled back to the 50s. They do a great job of maintaining a classic look and feel for the patrons with the decorations, signs and retro commercials for the snack bar. I’m sure it makes some adults very nostalgic.
One of my favorite things to do in the summer is go with a group (one driver just have a pickup truck) and a bunch of pillows and blankets. We set up the sleeping bags and pillows in the bed of the truck and watch the movies outside. It’s so relaxing and simple.
They also host retro movie double features. The summer of 2014 had them on Tuesday nights. They play movies like ET, Grease, The Goonies & Ferris Bueller. It’s such a fun place to be in the warm weather. The snack bar also has tons of options (ice cream, popcorn, candy, nachos etc…)

We’ve never had a bad time at the drive-​in! Even the night that it poured and my flip flop floated away, we still had an amazing time. It’s a great experience, and one that is more and more rare as most of our country’s drive ins have closed. We love to go early and play putt putt or play on the playground. The snack bar is beautiful since they redid it. Great snacks, great prices, great family fun!

The owner is a piece of garbage. He told me I couldn’t park closer when I had someone who is legally blind. Offered me an at location pair of two tickets then before leaving commented that «maybe people with disabilities like being legally blind shouldn’t go to the drive in» good drive in, just don’t deal with the awful owner.

Retro Tuesdays are where it’s at. Support this local, rare business folks! You can’t beat the price for a double feature and it is so fun to hang out with friends outside under the stars. They even have really good snacks to buy. Perfect for a date or family bonding too. My little sister is obsessed!

One of the few drive-​ins left in the country and it’s a total gem. For the price of less than one movie at your standard Regal… you get to see up to 3 movies back to back. In the comfort of your own car… or on a lawn chair next to your car. Whatever your style.
I can’t believe it took me so long to find myself here after 8+ years of living in Buffalo, but after my first experience… it’s safe to say I’m excited to go back. Hopefully sometime this Fall… with some Unilocal friends! ;)
Here’s how it works… you come into their Lockport location, pay $ and pick a screen. I believe they have 4 screens with 2 or 3 movies that play back-​to-​back. You get a radio station to tune your car radio to or there is also ample sound outside if you’re sitting in a lawn chair. Bring your own snacks or buy your own (they have a nice facility with bathrooms and food onsite). On certain days, they even play classic movies such as Back to the Future, Godfather trilogy, etc.
If you’ve never found yourself at this drive-in…you GOTTA go! The staff, people and VALUE are incredible.

How to write a review on a place that just driving by makes the hair under your arms tingle and twitch with excitement ! Like the drive inn is a magical land where you can sit in you car and watch 2 movies for the cost of a trip to the regal where you can’t talk, can’t bring a sheet pizza for you and your girl or sandwiches or any adult beverages pretty much to sum it up the drive in is king and there should be more in WNY. Transit also has a great concession stand which was just remodeled not to long ago. I have become a huge fan of their French fries. And their movie selection is alway current with what is out at the show. Only down side is you need to get there early. Yes this means it’s a good idea to bring a few beers and some food cuz your going to be hanging out in line to get in. Also best part is if your car dies after being on the battery for 5 hours the staff there walk around with portable batteries and can jump your car back to running I only know from experience. Lol.

I’ve been here a few times and it is either a ghost town or crazy packed. This weekend we showed up between 7:30pm and 8pm for a 9pm double feature. Not only were we turned away we were told that we should have come around 6pm. WTF? So we are supposed to arrive 3 hours early just to sit in a huge crowd of people until the movie starts? No way. When I posted this on their Facebook page including a congratulations on a successful season, my comment was promptly deleted. I guess I should drive the 1−2hrs to get there during the weeknights as their Facebook page suggested. If you enjoy rude service, sitting for unlimited hours in a car surrounded by cars with screaming kids then this is the experience for you. There are plenty of other drive ins that treat you like a customer and not a problem.

This drive in theatre is very well kept. It was clean, getting in/​parking was a breeze. The concessions aren’t too overpriced, and the staff is friendly/​helpful. Bathrooms are clean.
They occasionally pair the movies (your ticket includes two, back-​to-​back) a bit odd. We went to see «Despicable me 2», and the second movie of the pair was «Two Guns»; not really the same genre. But usually the two paired movies fit well with each other.
Highly recommend for adults, couples, families. everyone.

Ever since I was a child I loved coming here! And the experience is just the same as it always has been! Memorable! In all of WNY this place sticks out as a staple of classic good ol fashioned American fun!

I’ve been going to the Transit Drive-​In for over 30 years and have yet to have a bad experience. It’s the perfect venue for everything from a family night to date night. You can’t beat the price of two (sometimes three!) movies for the price that you would typically pay for one showing at an indoor theater.
The snack bar prices are similar to any theater, a tad high, so I usually bring in a few snacks (fruit, pizza, etc.), but purchase popcorn and soda to keep our favorite date night location up and running. (Funds from snack bar purchases keep the drive-​in in business!)
Summer weekends with fantastic weather and an awesome line-​up of films do allow for the perfect storm. Be aware that on these types of nights you do need to arrive early because the line of traffic to enter the complex will be backed up for miles. However, have no fear about killing time due to arriving early. There is a mini putt-​putt on site or you can occupy your time by bringing a deck or cards or board games. Before you know it, it will be show time!
Speaking of show time, the nostalgic snack bar and bug zapper «commercials» before the film showings are one of my favorite parts of the drive-​in experience. The same films have played since I was a kid and it brings back such great memories to see them still playing as an adult!
Overall, the Transit Drive-​In is a great night out during the warmer months. Dress up in your comfy clothes, bring a cooler with your favorite beverages, and curl up with your pillow and blanket for a memorable night!

Drive-​in theaters are almost but a memory; but one that is kept very alive and well in Lockport, NY. With slightly less than 400 drive-​in theaters remaining in the country, The Transit Drive-​In (hosting four screens) is the largest in the state of New York. Go to their website and read the history. It’s pretty fascinating.
I moved from Lockport over a little two years ago. I know that they have replaced the refreshment stand since then but I have not seen the update. I hope to get back out there this summer.
I am totally a city girl now and I absolutely love where I am living. But I harbor some nostalgia for those Lockport nights and the star filled sky. One thing I’ll always remember when I think of Lockport will be the ¼ mile line of cars waiting to get into this drive-​in on warm, summer nights. Yes, there will be a line to get in. But it’s worth it. Just give yourself enough time. In fact, give yourself a little more time at stop and Tasty Treat just down the street for some ice cream before the show. (They are only open during the summer. The drive-​in operates a little more extended of a season than Tasty Treat).
Great for families, couples and cats! I’m kind-​of kidding. You probably shouldn’t bring your cat. But my ex and I did once and she loved it. Most cats probably wouldn’t be into that sort of thing. They are however, pet friendly so you can bring the family dog as long as it is not disruptive and you clean up after any «business».

THE OWNER IS AS RUDE AS THEY COME!
He has a great business model, but is a TERRIBLE person.
So, my boyfriend and I have been to the Transit Drive-​In only a few times.
Yesterday being the absolute last time.
The owner is flat out the rudest man I have ever encountered. We purchased food & drink items at the concession stand in the middle of our first movie. We were there solely for the 2^nd film, but went to go grab something else in between the showings.
IMPORTANT PART: We looked for a lot monitor (none were around), looked at our ticket & there was nothing noted so out of courtesy for the other customers we just popped off of the property for 10 minutes.
When attempting to come back onto the property, we were told we could not re-​enter and would have to pay again. The girl was very nice, but her supervisor said no via walkie-​talkie & I said I would like to speak to him.
Turns out he was the owner, the absolutely most rude and confrontational man I have ever encountered in my life. He SHOUTED at, CURSED AT & INSULTED us. Then proceeded to tell me that was the ‘most expensive Slurpee I’ll ever have’ and that I should have read their pamphlet (yes, pamphlet) that is handed to you with your ticket… did I mention your lights are supposed to be off? As well, there were absolutely no lot monitors around to ask?
The way I was spoken to by the owner, and please LOOK AT THE FILTERED REVIEWS (I am not the first person to say this) makes me feel as though he should take a step back from his business. He has offended more than enough people, and should just hire a manager to run the drive-​in. He should in no way be involved himself in any client facing capacity.
NEVER AGAIN.

No joke: when I went car shopping I sat in the trunks to make sure I could sit in the trunk comfortably for drive-​in theater viewing (my Subaru Forester passed the test).
There used to be 4,000−5,000 drive-​in theaters in the world. Now there are less than 500. Western New York is fortunate enough to not only have an operating drive-​in, but a good one at that.
This particular theater is absolutely fantastic. It is well run, clean and efficient. They get all the big movies in. You can watch 2 – 3 blockbusters for the price of one (I think it is $ 10 now?).
They recently tore down their old concession stand and bathroom building and replaced with brand new facilities. Clearly, they are doing something right.
On a nice night, this theater will be packed to the brim with every parking spot filled. They have a lot of parking attendants who help fill in the spots.
I recommend backing your car in, especially if you have a SUV, like myself. Pop open the trunk so you can hear the sound through your car speakers and bust out some lawn chairs. Before the movie starts you will see people throwing balls around and having a great time.
If you have never been to a drive-​in, you must experience this classic tradition.
