a recent serpentine belt gone wrong! This was a disaster as I was headed to the Sunshine state, how far am I again? Friendly greetings-​everyone standing with jackets! Yessir-that’s why my trip ends in Marathon.
As for this belt, the bearings had gone bad. Was almost set to purchase a new belt when the «Mobile Mechanic» on the premises happened to go over the noise.

the on site repairs were a blessing, only by Magnificent Holy God. was back on the road –will I need belt adjusting after I reach Fla?
Reached Fla-​squealing turned to screeching-​onlookers say it’s the belt, however less than a year old– 1^st stop walk to nearest Auto store; just in case. $ 4 belt conditioner-​Did you know you’re supposed to condition your car’s belts as often as an oil change!!! Interesting A 5 mile walk to AutoZone Dale Mabry Hwy-​round trip 10miles-​HEY! There’s snow back home!!! Florida was 71Degrees as I loaded up on vitamin D-​backpacking my belt conditioner-​it works, intermittently — Have been researching; «Are you turning on your defroster as soon as you crank up your car? In some cars, the AC compressor turns on when the defroster is on. That squeaking sound would be coming from the compressor pulley because of the load on a frozen belt.» Coming from 32 degrees to 70 degrees??? that seems plausible.
I always say my car doesn’t like the cold+ The Mobile Mechanic slapped on a new idler pulley+ I’m safe and warm for right now. There couldn’t have been a bigger blessing on my journey to Florida. I’ll take my time scouting out mechanics, idler pulleys, compressor pulleys and have the car looked at by a professional.

They seemed shocked that I paid with cash, dontcha have cash down south??? lol

This location has exceptional customer service. From the time you walk in until the time you leave the staff and store manager are all great to work with. I’ll definitely make the extra drive to come to this location.
