This restaurant is in a strip mall and has Spartan decorations. The first thing that struck me was the prices … pretty steep for a plane Jane restaurant. For example, the salad bar was«one trip» for $ 3.99 for a small bowl and $ 4.99 for a plate. Given the salad bar was pretty plain too, that was a turn off from the get go. The«Blooming Onion» appetizer was a disappointment at $ 5.99. The«special sauce» came in a paper cup and tasted like mayonnaise with a dash of horseradish mixed in. Pretty bland. My ribeye steak, cooked medium, was tough, dry and had no flavor. I asked for some A-1 Sauce to tolerate it. Inexcusable for a 12 oz steak that cost $ 15.95. My wife’s whole catfish had no flavor although it was cooked ok. Two catfish, baked potato and two hush puppies for $ 9.99. Counting in a glass of tea and a beer, the tab and 15%(the service was not bad) tip came to a total just shy of $ 50 for two people. As I left out the door, I overheard a man say as he left with his wife and two kids, «So much for that place, the food was awful.» My sentiments exactly.
