Located in the strip mall between Bojangles’ and Stanly Community College. This restaurant has a nice mixture of Chinese, Thai and Japanese. They offer the Chinese main stay dishes, a few Thai dishes and an extensive Sushi menu. This is perfect for this community. The have limited seating which can fill up at lunch time. They had two groups when I visited, one was 5 people and the other had 7. They seated me right away and took my beverage order. My entrée order was taken upon arrival of the drink. I noticed that the waitress did not write down my order. Ordered the hot and sour soup and Chicken Kung Pao, that’s what I always get in a Chinese restaurant. If they can’t make these two things I probably won’t come back. Well, you guessed it… the order got screwed up. I got an egg roll(don’t like them) and no soup. At first, I thought the egg roll came with the meal… but it was delivered as an appetizer. Pet peeve, if you can’t remember the orders, write it down! I got the Chicken Kung Pao and it was good. Just good not great! The sauce was rather thin and had a good flavor with just the right spiciness. The vegetables were obviously fresh and cut just right to be bite size pieces. I patiently waited to get my check after I was obviously finished, clean plate. I know they want to be polite and wait until you ask for the check sometimes. This was an obvious case of not enough staff to serve a full restaurant at lunch time(12 noon). I finally politely place my $ 20 bill on the table which got the attention of my waitress and she brought me the check. Then I waited for at least 5 more minutes for her to pick it up. Then I waited several more minutes, to get my change. Good food, miscommunication on the order(understandable), but combined with over 15 minutes wait to exchange money… rating zinged one point. Thus the 3 rating. I’ll go back for another try… since it’s the only sit down Asian food in Locust. I was the first to review, good food and friendly… if it weren’t for these points probably would have gotten a 2 rating.
