Gunthers ice cream in Lodi is all you need to know. FYI the artwork is pretty flippin’ awesome and affordable too. Quick note to be sure you check out the little greeting card section where you can find a nice piece of art for $ 5 each!

Tony is awesome and his art is really good. The ice cream was great. This is now our first place in mind when we want some ice cream.

My family and I decided to stop by on a whim after hearing positive reviews. Each of us fell in love for different reasons. Phenomenal artwork, modern décor, and a unique atmosphere. Akin to something you might find in San Francisco. An instant favorite!

Delicious Gunther’s ice cream, good art, friendly customer service. Such a gem. A nice end to a couple of hours at World of Wonders museum just a short walk away.

Gunther’s ice cream is the best. I had the German Chocolate ice cream which was worth every calorie. I like that this place is an art gallery and an ice cream store combined in a comfortable space. The only downside is the limited seating. This store would benefit having some bistro tables and chairs which is why I give it 4 stars instead of 5.

We went there after a friend mentioned it. Turns out they’ve been there for 18 months but we never knew it existed. I had Oreo & Butter Brickle. My wife and kids all had birthday cake. We were all very happy with our choices. The waffle cone was also excellent! I am not interested in art and was disappointed there was no indoor seating. It took away from the ice cream parlor feel. However, it is right across from city hall and there is a nice outdoor area with numerous benched and places to sit. Price was OK, not overly expensive but not cheap. We’ll certainly be back!

Ice cream and an art gallery? Sure, why not! We found this place when looking for desserts and found out it had Gunther’s ice cream! They had some cool flavors(i.e. Pecan praline, birthday cake, blueberry cheesecake) but also the usuals(Oreo, double chocolate, coffee). The best part was that they had mini cones and kiddie sizes, which is the perfect amount of ice cream for me. The owner was super friendly, let us sample a bunch, gave us suggestions(he will customize a milkshake for you if you’d like), and he even let us try a new flavor from the back(taro!). It was nice to look around the art gallery as we ate our ice cream. A little above my affordability for art but some of the flower paintings were very pretty!

Odd concept. Honestly wasn’t there for the art though, I was there for the Gunther’s. I will definitely be back for the ice cream but I’ll probably take it to go, I felt like I had to at least pretend to be interested in the art work.

First of all, it doesn’t get any better than Gunther’s ice cream! I would know, being a self proclaimed ice cream critic and fanatic… Second, every month they put up new pieces of art which makes me want to keep coming back to see what new interesting and pretty things there are to look at(while enjoying my beloved ice cream of course)…and third, the customer service is top notch. Tony the owner/artist and his gallery manager Whitney make you feel like part of a family of fellow ice cream and art lovers. We visit this quaint and adorable gem on lovely downtown Lodi as often as we can! Check it out for yourself, you won’t be disappointed :)

Today was my 2nd visit and I cannot say enough good things about Double Dip Gallery! They were conducting an art class at the time(so cool!) but you can still walk in and purchase ice cream. First visit I had birthday cake ice cream(amazing!) and today I had bing cherry(awesome!) and cookies and cream(average) ice cream. I bought mocha fudge flavor for a friend who said it was glorious! My husband had the wine ice cream and I really hope they continue to offer it because it was delicious and so refreshing! Hoping and praying this place thrives and stays in Lodi for many years to come!

Giving this place a three star cause the ice-cream was pretty good. But for me the customer service is a zero. The gentleman who works there is nice but for some reason the girl looked like she had a problem with me. I asked if they did samples cause they had so many to pick from and she said yes. She than completely ignored me and went and started asking my husband what he wanted. The girl completely ignored me and made me feel unwelcome.

What a great addition to Lodi! I live in Walnut Creek now, but was in town last month for the First Friday Art Hop! When I found out there was a gallery with ice cream, and a very interesting flavor of the month(Peanut Butter Salted Caramel Oreo I think?) I was beyond excited. The art was beautiful… A lot of very colorful abstract pieces. And the ice cream was fantastic! I had the birthday cake flavor, but will be back soon for Lemon Custard. My sister and I both were sad we’d only got one scoop and were tempted to go back for more. :) Definitely worth a stop, even if you’re just passing through.

So glad we Unilocaled this place. My wife and kids loved the birthday cake ice cream. I tried the wine sorbet and it is a one of a kind, never had anything like it anywhere else. Definitely coming back when coming to Lodi.

The Best Best ice cream. I had Birthday cake and it felt like I was truly eating moist, delicious cake and ice cream. Service was great and so helpful. They are 5 stars for serving great ice cream, they have a nice art gallery… but I minused one star because I really wanted to sit down. There aren’t seats… it’s more of an art gallery and the ice cream is just the great surprise

This place has been opened for 14 months, and I was never aware of it. As some of you may know, it’s a small art gallery that serves, GUNTHER’S ice cream!!! I can’t express how I felt when I found out. Being a Stockton resident and having to travel to the gunther’s in Sacramento satisfy my cravings, I was extremely excited about this place in Lodi. It’s located right across the street from Lodi’s city Hall building. There are benches across the street if you like to enjoy your ice cream or 50⁄50 freeze with a scenic view of a memorial. The owner was super sweet & there wasn’t a long line out the door because not many people know about this hidden gem. I’m sure when I spread the word I will be standing outside waiting in line at my next visit. They don’t have all the flavors like the Gunther’s in Sac, but they have quite a handful to choose from. I can’t wait to try the Salted Cameral Oreo one coming in April!

I loved the ice cream selections and loved the customer service(from what I assume is the owner) however, there was no place to sit. With a toddler I’m afraid that is going to keep us from coming back. Ice cream and kids go hand in hand, and tables are a must. Too bad ;(

Really good ice cream and the art work is easy on the eyes. If they served a few gluten free ice cream flavors we would probably be back again real soon.

This place is adorable! Brought the family here yesterday for a little treat. The ice cream was yummy. The selection of flavors might not be as vast as some of the other cookie cutter ice cream shops you could visit but the flavors here were unique and fulfilling. Even with less options some of my brood still had a hard time deciding because they all sounded so intriguing. For example, the flavor of the month for March is Baileys Irish Cream(which I personally love the taste of) and it was delicious. The art was nice and we enjoyed perusing while we ate our treats. The customer service was friendly. The prices were good. I can’t think of a single negative thing to say or area for improvement. I’m so glad we found this little gem just blocks from our house. I look forward to our next visit.

I came across this place by chance and was drawn to it by the impressive gold leaf work on the outside facing windows; it’s clear that a lot of thought and effort was put into the design, and the attention to detail is second-to-none(heck, even the garbage can was hand painted!). The inside is no different: amazing artwork fill the walls leading down to an ice cream counter. Again, the menu was hand lettered and it was just refreshing to see how much care was put into the look of the place. I think they nailed it. I was unfamiliar with the brand of ice cream they served(Gunther’s), so the owner was kind enough to let me sample a few flavors. I tried the flavor of the month(Tin Roof Sundae), Birthday Cake(their best seller), and my usual go-to, Rocky Road. All were phenomenal, but I ended going with Birthday cake. Delicious! I was so excited about my find that I had to bring my family later that evening. Everybody enjoyed it and we look forward to adding the Double Dip Gallery to our weekend outings.
