Jessie’s Grove was our last stop of the day. Meeting Steve in the small and quaint tasting room was so fun. We learned about the history of the winery, the family who started the farm and the family that continues its legacy. Another gem in Lodi, it is another one to add to your list. The wines are lovely. I’m not typically a white wine drinker, but there is something about a nice cold refreshing white on a hot summer day. Every wine that Jessie’s pours is beautiful, very fruit forward, with layers of fruit, and the soils in which the grapes grow. When Steve poured the Jessence Blanc, he explained it as a great pool wine, not that it takes like the pool, but a lovely wine to drink by the pool in the summer. He is right, it is a fruity wine that can be chilled and savored on a hot summer day with a nice grilled chicken and peach salad. The other favorite is their Earth, Zin and Fire, a beautiful rich and smoky zinfandel. They also make a fantastic port. Can’t wait to go back to Jessie’s Grove.

This place was great! The staff were all so warm and friendly you truly do feel like part of their family. There is a $ 5 tasting fee which is very reasonable considering the extensive list of wines available for tasting. The tasting fee is also waived if you buy a bottle which isn’t hard to do given all the yummy wines. We were lucky enough to meet Greg, the winemaker himself and were able to chat with him while he showed us around the grounds. We learned they host overnight«sleep overs» with dinner and live music which seem like a hoot! After we finished our tasting we ventured out to the patio where we munched on some snacks brought from home. We met Wanda, who is the mother of Greg, who delighted us with story telling about their family pioneering to California, acquiring land and developing their winery into what it is today. What an unforgettable experience we had!

My friend is an old time wine club member so I’ve been out for a few club pick up events and a couple of music events under the oaks. Cannot say enough about the personal service and friendly atmosphere with the owner on hand most of the time. The music events are friendly outings under the trees, unpretentious yet great acts. A nice stop on the ever-growing Lodi wine tour.

I feel terrible writing this, but I feel as though this experience should be shared! My fiancé and I decided, with the help of our photographers, to take our engagement pictures at Jessie’s Grove! We decided to head in a little early to sip on some wine and relax a little before the pictures. The wine was delicious and we had a great time speaking with the bartender. We were informed that we could take pictures from 4 – 5:30ish. We had a fantastic time taking pictures around the winery, laughing and getting some great shots. However, it was cut short when one of the managers angrily interrupted our shoot to tell us we needed to leave IMMEDIATELY. Now, I am a rule follower, and would have been happy to leave when they were closed, but that was not the time we originally planned. We were paying good money to take these pictures and wanted them to be the best they could be! She then left and interrupted again almost screaming at us this time and completely disrespected us and our photographers! I was so unbelievably uncomfortable my fiancé and I decided not to return, though the wine is delicious. The owner did apologize, but I simply don’t feel comfortable being around people who act like that. My photographers also mentioned this was not the first time an incident like this occurred.

Great customer service! Came in on a Monday with a few friends and was welcomed with a smile. During our time here we were able to participate in a wine tasting(only $ 5 or free with a purchase of a wine bottle), my friends and I explored the winery with a glass of wine. If you decide to visit, don’t be surprised if you are greeted by a few chickens & «Torty» the tortoise.

Totally enjoyed this winery. The properly is beautiful and the staff was so friendly and informative. We enjoyed their selections and walking around the grounds. The have a schedule of live music where you can bring your own chairs and enjoy their wine and food. You can even stay over night in your RV and you can join them for breakfast.

I had been wanting to check out Jessie’s Grove for quite some time and I finally made it out during W&C 2016. Right off the bat we heard music, which I love! The event was held in a rustic barn that was decorated very nice! They had an Alice in the Wonderland theme which was very fun! I honestly don’t remember the wine so much because I was enjoying myself. I definitely will come back to try out all of the wines!

Jessie’s Grove is a true classic. From the rustic barn-like buildings they pour some of the better wines of Lodi. Despite the gravel driveways, aged boards of the barns and buildings, these are deliberate in keeping the place unpretentious and relaxing. We picnicked here on an old picnic table but we had plenty of space and shade. I’ll definitely be back.

Really amazing setting for the tasting room. There is an old woman in the backyard telling stories about the history of the area. The wine was very enjoyable and the staff was hospitable and friendly. They host Concerts and club members get to spend the night camping in the vineyard and enjoy a big breakfast.

I recently visited this winery on a Friday and it was amazing! The wine was delicious and silky. The venue had a cozy vibe and Steve was very fun to chat with. The tasting fee was small for the amount of tastings we did. After our tasting we walked around the grounds which are beautiful. I can’t wait to go back for summer festivities!

Some girlfriends and I visited this winery to celebrate a friend’s 50th birthday. The staff were so warm and friendly! You walk in and you just feel like you’re part of their family. I typically don’t enjoy red wines but the ones I tasted were delicious. When I told Sarah that I generally like sweeter wines, she said«I know the perfect one for you!». She had me try the Moscat Blanc and I was sold! Bought a bottle and shared it with my friends the next day! If you’re looking for a smaller, family-feel winery, this is the place to visit!

The wine was good, the service was terrible. There were about 10 people in the tasting room and they could not handle the customer’s wine tasting in a timely manner. Once the room cleared to four people, we were told«we need to move through this fast now» because of closing hours. We waited for several minutes per wine taste and then man/server wanted to rush us through. Liz was very friendly and accommodating. If the business does not have time to serve new wine tasters then they should say so upfront.

Came here with a group of people on Sat. Aug. 15th. We were helped promptly by a nice lady at the tasting bar. I noticed a patio outside so walked outside and sat in one of the chairs. I started conversing with some couples that were out there, and one of the men sitting with them was the owner. The owner was very pleasant to talk to and he even poured us more wine when he saw my glass was low. We purchased a bottle of the 2012 Petite Syrah.(all of us purchased at least one bottle!!) The tastings weren’t waived, but we still liked this winery the best that day. We plan to return again some day.

I always have a good time when I come here. I have a friend that grew up in Boston that wanted to go wine tasting in my hometown of Lodi so I obliged. She had to twist my arm pretty hard haha. I knew that Jessie’s Grove was definitely a great place to take her. We had a good time, the staff is always so welcoming and friendly. They make you feel at home. The wines are delicious as well. I think there was only one that I didnt really care for but it was just personal taste. I havent been to the concert in the groves this year but I have in the past. They are definitely worth checking out. The bands they book are really good and the atmosphere is a lot of fun.

If you’re looking for a little more small scale, this is the place. Jesse’s Grove Winery is more subtle than something like Oak Farm. The tasting room and grounds are smaller but there’s plenty of space outside to walk around and enjoy the scenery. Smaller parking area, so be mindful of that. There is a few seating areas outside but not a ton. Again, this is a much smaller venue than most and I would suggest using it as a stop over not a main destination. They have about 10 – 12 wines to taste. 2 Chardonnays, 8 or so reds, and 4 dessert wines. Personally, I do not enjoy dessert wines so I asked if we could revisit another red wine and they were glad to accommodate. They’re willing to work with what type of tasting you like. I recommend the cab on the list! We even received a complimentary tasting of a wine that wasn’t on the list. There are oyster crackers in a bowl to nibble on. No water to rinse your palate. Tasting fee is $ 5 per person, $ 9 a glass, and the tasting fee is waived if you buy a bottle. *** we were told by the pourer that in the summer they are big on live music and especially when they release new wines. I’d call ahead in the summer and see when they begin to have live music out there. They say people love coming out, even camping out on the grounds sometimes! Closes at 5pm

Boyfriend and I visited for the 1st time on 8÷31÷14 and came away with a wine club membership! We were greeted by Marcella and Kathy was working too(see my review for Jessie’s Grove– Winehouse). Their Earth, Zin, and Fire is a great easy drinking red. I had had it before coming here and it quickly became a favorite of mine. Their sweet wines are not over the top– very pleasant We returned on Sunday 10÷12÷14 to pick up our 1st wine club delivery and stayed for a tasting. We missed the release party but hope to make it to the next. This place is fun– everyone was so friendly and easy to talk to. A great staff paired with great wine makes for a successful winery!

My wife and I fell in love with Jessie’s Grove on our first wine tasting there. We decided to join their wine club(a first for us). There is not a wine there that isn’t excellent. The staff, amazing! We have yet to attend a concert, but after strolling the grounds we can’t wait to experience it. Napa likes to bad mouth Valley wineries, they clearly haven’t been here or any of the other local wineries. Stop at Jessie’s Grove and try my fave«Earth Zin and Fire»!

Jessie’s Grove was the last stop of our mini Lodi wine tasting trip. I really loved that we drove down a dirt road through the vineyards before we got to the tasting room. Jessie’s just really embodies Lodi’s ‘old vine’ wine country. Parking was a little confusing, but we just parked behind an already parked car. Lucky for us, the tasting room was relatively empty so lack of service/attention was definitely not an issue. I wish I remembered our pourer’s name(I’ll have to check the receipt later), he was very friendly and easy to talk to. It was like we were friends and just chatted about the wines. We didn’t stay too long(it was my 4th vineyard I was getting sleepy!) but we both left with a bottle of the Westwind. Very tasty & decently priced! We also got 15% for the ‘black friday’ sale(it was Saturday), but overall an enjoyable experience. Wished we could have stayed longer to sightsee a little, but I did see a pony!
