First glance is a quaint farm house with a barn tasting room in the country. Not much on the outside, once you step inside you find a family winery tasting room with heart. The wines are all excellent, you can’t go wrong on a one. Aaron the winemaker/owner is very knowledgeable and passionate about his craft. Upon looking around at family photos one catches the eye, him and his family with Ed Sullivan. Asking about that one picture evokes a twinkle in Aaron’s eyes, completely separate from the one he has for his wine. Ask about it and you will get a special family story that is rich with american history. We were beyond impressed with this place and Aaron. We couldn’t decide on one wine we liked best so we bought 2 different bottles of wine. Check out Kidder Family Winery, you will fall in love with it!

A small operation off the beaten path but worth the visit. The kind folks at Klinker Brick suggested we stop at Kidder, and many thanks for their recommendation. This is a small clean tasting room in a converted barn, right in the vineyard. The owner/winemaker was attending to the tasting. In addition to pouring wines, he had set up a table with different unmarked wines that visitors were invited to smell to identify various scents form different varietals. You were then fill out a quiz and scores were compared to other visitors. Lot of fun! People really get competitive after lubing up with a tasting The wines were great, really. The owner plants a number of varietals on a fairly small vineyard and can tell you, down to the row, exactly where each varietal and bottle came from. The zin was good, but the barbera was decent also, both around $ 19−20/bottle. Amazing quality at that price point. Picked up a few bottles of each. This was a fun, educational tasting. Fairly low key, smaller scale operation, but well worth the visit. Would definitely come again.

Had a blast last week doing the smell test! Your wines are amazing and love the family feel, plus getting to hang out with the super nice wine makers. We carry several Kidder wines at my Bay Area restaurant!

Great family run winery in Lodi. Aaron Kidder is the winemaker and not only does he make excellent wines but he is very personable and accommodating as well. The estate is beautiful and they have a great little tasting room to present their passion of wine making. This is one of those places that once you come across it you will always come back. Definition of a hidden gem

Kidder Family Winery produces some of the best wines Lodi has to offer. Our first visit earlier this year was just a great experience that we kept coming back. Aaron is a master at creating a full body complex wine with the perfect balance of fruit and tannins. We haven’t tasted a wine yet that we haven’t fell in love with. Our wine rack currently has their Syrah, Tempranillo and Moscato that we’re saving for a special occasion. Make sure you stop by Kidder Winery on your next wine tasting trip to Lodi.
